  3. Ok, to start off. I just installed two 10AQHDC3s in my truck powered by a saz3000d. Im loving how loud and strong the bass is but im having trouble enjoying it really. Im getting lots of rattling and roof flex. I was wondering how many sq. ft. of Damplifier Pro would be needed for my truck. Its an 02 gmc sierra extended cab. I have read through alot of forums and all seem to say SS is by far the best deadener but I have never deadened any vehicle and not sure what I need. Thanks for any and all info. Also how many layers and where.

What kind of car do you think we should buy to properly represent Second Skin in the lanes and on the street? I Personally think we should have an '08 Mustang, midnight Blue, with the second skin logo painted on the hood in chrome colored reflective paint. what do you think? AX

Does any of Second Skins products cut down on plastic that rattles? It seems my door panels vibrate and rattle the most and is getting annoying, so I thought I would ask what would be the best product to coat my inside plasitc door panels with? If anything hahah.

Would just one layer of damplifier on my trunk lid be enough to stop the annoying rattle that you hear outside of the car? I can't imagine that it would help much for inside the car, im just tryin to stop the outside rattle of my trunk.

  13. A few years ago I listed my company; Second Skin Audio LLC for sale on a couple of websites. Last year I decided to get serious about selling it, and decided to list it with a broker. He did an amazing job for me, and in less than 4 months I received my first and only offer. I accepted, and over the last 3 months have been working closely with lawyers, my CPA, broker and the buyers to work out all the details. The purpose of this announcement is to inform everyone that Anthony Collova is no longer the owner of the Second Skin company. The new owner is a gentleman named Ken Kanefield. Him and his wife Sue sold their auto glass company, and bought 100% of Second Skin Audio…

I have been looking for a way to increase some of the midbass from my door speakers(infinity kappa 5X7's) and have desided to seal/deaden my doors. I realize that the correct way to do this would be to rivet some aluminium sheets to cover the numerous holes in my doors and then cover them in damplifier, but since I possess neither the materials, time, or skills to accomplish this, could I simply use the damplifier over the holes? would that successfully seal the doors and increase some of the midbass (even if only a little)? If you cant tell im very new at this and can't find much info on it so ANY advise/critisism would be appreciated. Thanks Alex

So I am doing a completely new door setup. The inner skin to which the speaker is normally mounted to will be cut out. I am basically going to fiberglass a completely new door panel that will act as a sealed pod that will bolt on to the sides of the door. My question is how do I go about deadening this since the speakers will be housed in their own fiberglass enclosure? This was my approach. Let me know what you think. I was going to deaden the actual steel door with a layer of damplifier then glue a layer of luxury liner ontop of that. I would then bolt in the fiberglassed pod. Inside the pod I would glue on a layer of overkill. Does that sound about right? I want some …

  23. About 6 months ago we had I decided to start working with a new chemical formulation company to increase the performance and the value of damplifier and damplifier Pro. After we analyzed everything, we found a few key spots to work on. With Performance in mind, we wanted to get better results with less material and less work for our customers. Less material usually mean less performance though; Thinner foil = less vibration damping. Thinner butyl = less vibration damping. Sure, the cost goes down but with such a large reduction in performance, we hardly though it was worth it, which is why we dropped damplifier Lite from our menu. Even though damplifier Lite performed b…

I got Damplifier Lite for my car as I did not want to spend too much money on sound proofin. I spent too much already for speakers and boxes and cables etc. and it was eather damplifier Lite for me or no product at all. So I ordered from SS and got it pretty fast. So I used it for the first time, it was perfect, not trouble taking the paper off or any problem whatsoever. I did 1 layer on each of the 3 sides of the door, I will follow with Overkill on the door panel once I put the speakers in. I did a quick video to compare the damplified door to just prepped door. Both my doors had some small tiles on the door from factory but they did not do much. The difference is amazi…
