I'm changing my routine I've been doing for the last five months, and starting a gymnastic type routine. I figured this would be a good way for me to log everything for future reference and progression. Basic goals are improving overall strength, and slowly adding lean mass. 5' 9.5" 135lbs bf ~ 10%

I have just started to incorporate protein into my workout. I work at a grocery store where we sell whey protein, and different types of powders for shakes along with different types of Bars, and stuff. They only protein stuff I have tried was a Shredder Shake from Smoothie King. It was pretty good after I got over the protein after taste. I had the chocolate one if it makes a difference. I also noticed they sell a Jerky stick that is high in protein. Are the drink/shake mixes any good, and what ones do you recommend? Also what are some other good supplements that contain protein?

With the new year i know the gym is about to be packed with a slew of people trying to get back into the gym. Its a good thing, but the key is to stay motivated and not lose track of your goals. I've far surpassed my expectations in the gym and find it hard to focus these days and wonder what is the point. But i still drag myself in after an 8hr day and find friends ive met along the way to boost me through whatever i may be doing that day. So for all the rejuvenated gym goers heres a list of things that may help you stay on track. 1.Friends or network of people you frequent at the gym 2.Music 3.Some sort of tracking -if you run i would suggest the Iphone nike+ app(Music …

I'm looking for a good routine to do while I'm deployed. I was looking to do a 4 on 3 off ( running with 1 cake day). I need a good upper body/lower body routine to do. I'm looking for something realitivley easy to learn so I can just hop into it. I have full access to a gym so machines wouldn't be limiting. I'm not looking to get huge but I'd like to get fit while I'm here and continue it on to after I'm back.

  7. First a little back ground info. 5' 3" with weight fluctuating between 150 and 160. Fat content normally between 10 and 15 percent. I have an auto immune disorder called Lupus so I workout 5 to six days a week, eat extremely heathy, and get blood work done every 6 weeks. I've used BSN cellmass for years and my creatine levels were always around .90 mg/dl. For the past two months I've been using Six Star Nitrition creatine x ^3 from walmart and after a 16 hour fasting blood work my creatine level was 1.17 mg/dl. For reference the lab references normal levels between .63 and 1.13. I can't really say I've gained any weight from it because I've been taking 200 mg of Megace …

Be cautious taking Plexus Slim and the accelerator. I had to call 911 today after my Fiancé took one serving of the Slim and the Accelerator as prescribed on the package. She experienced a floating sensation with extremely high blood pressure and a heart rate of 115 along with intense muscle spasms in the neck and face with a numbing sensation. The doctors at the ER contacted the Poison Control Center and although they haven't pin pointed what exact chemical combination is causing these reactions, they have received several hundred complaints from this product in the last few months. On a side note she has taken other diuretics like USPlabs and hydroxycut in the past wi…

Before you click in the link and think - wtf is this crap - it is about a doc that over comes MS, by changing her diet. Give it a look and let me know what you think. http://www.terrywahls.com/current-information (If the link doesn't work let me know)

  14. I am definitly not in shape. As of this morning I am: Age: 17 Weight: 250 Height: 5'10" For starters, I just joined a gym, planet fitness. Was 99$ Cash for 12 months. I know it's not the greatest gym but I feel I'm heading in the right direction. As far as physical fitness goes, I am way out of shape, I get winded very quickly. As of tomorrow, I am cutting fast food, for good. I am also cutting soft drinks, and one of my favorites, sweet tea. My concern is, I have no idea where to start in terms of working out at the gym. My priorities are to lose weight, and gain strength. My overall goal weight wise based on my current information is 170. But for now I will realistica…

Im sure most of you know that your leg press is alot higher than your squat. Doing some physics work we can calculate it all out. As we know at an angle weight is decreased. So if that sled is at a 45deg angle and we know that the sin of things are vertical. We can say the the x weight times the sin(45) is what you would have if it were at a 90 aka vertical. ..(sin(90)=1 So x * sin(45)= x*.707 so say you can leg press 500 500*.707=354lbs ....................... But if you do the numbers im sure you can tell that this method is unreliable and you wold find yourself crushed on the squat machine if you tried to attempt it. Another method i found on the net was to just divi…

Hi everyone, I would like some help on how I can gain alot more weight and built at the same time . I am 17 years old and will be 18 in May. I am currently standing 5'4" and weigh 122lbs. I believe I am as fit as I can be, I have abs, large arms and chest.. but I feel as if I'm too small. I really want to get up to 155-165lbs muscle. I'm pretty tired of my lean look.. Friends have been giving me alot of pointers and alot of them are really different from each other. some friends tell me i should eat a bunch of stuff like fast food and snacks to gain the weight, then eat right and start my training. others say eat a little bit more and maintain my active schedule. I'…

As the title states, I was just wondering how you all stay motivated when it comes to working out? I enjoy exercising, but it just seems like life gets in the way too often and I can't keep my motivation up and stick with a routine. As of now I haven't done a workout for probably two months. Don't get me wrong, I don't just sit around on my ass all day. I have a very physically demanding job, and I'm the one that does the majority of the housework (because I'm anal about how it's done ). I've had back problems for the last 11 or 12 years and gave up on weights several years ago, as I kept hurting myself. I turned to kettlebells and bodyweight, and a neurologist tha…

I'm currently 6', and weigh 210lbs, which is down from 270lbs in February. I am hoping to get down to 180 by spring, and I am trying to do it the healthy way as opposed to whats happening now >.> About three weeks ago, i stopped getting hungry, at all really. Simply no physical desire to eat. Kinda like, i'll eat just to eat and everything tastes bad, like i ate wayyy too much already. So, my question(s) are, 1) what is some healthy food, that's not tasteless. 2) What should i make of my lack of appetite? 3) what are some good lifts for dropping weight, or more specifically dropping fat (I am still getting used to running, not really a big fan)? numbers aren't so…

Just the other day i was on bench.. now it has the lower rack just incase u cant get it..well, doing some drop sets it would seem 1 arm is stronger than the other so, i get 1 side on the high rack and the other on the low rack. the guy across from me runs over to help lol...Good times in the gym

So I wanna hear what your favorite supplement you have EVER taken was/is. It doesn't matter what type of supplement it was, just your personal favorite. My favorite was BSN no-xplode. It gave me a great energy boost and kept me upbeat during my workout. I did also take NANO Vapor which was ridiculous from my experience. It gave me a huge boost, the downside was it made me sh*t my brains out...haha.

I really dont know where to start so I'll start off with my goal...I would like to drop some weight from the 190lb im at now maybe to like 160lb. I really dont have a problem working out as I love too when I can but could use any workouts that you guys like for your core and maybe some kind of cardio thats nt exactly running on a treadmill that would be cool too cuz I HATE CARDIO but really need to start on doing it a lot more. The main thing that really makes me mad at myself is eating right. I'll do good the whole day, workout and then kind off binge on tons of stuff …
