Alright guys, its been a while since I've posted on here but I find it hard to find time too lately. I really dont know where to start so I'll start off with my goal...I would like to drop some weight from the 190lb im at now maybe to like 160lb. I really dont have a problem working out as I love too when I can but could use any workouts that you guys like for your core and maybe some kind of cardio thats nt exactly running on a treadmill that would be cool too cuz I HATE CARDIO but really need to start on doing it a lot more. The main thing that really makes me mad at myself is eating right. I'll do good the whole day, workout and then kind off binge on tons of stuff …

So after reading Dem Beats - Health Check, I am inspired to do something similar. I have been looking for a way to write down my journey, and there is no better place than SSA! I've actually done this before here. I had results overall but was also starving for information and learning along the way. It's 2 years down the road now and I have learned a lot of information, so this time I'm going to try and track my progress near daily and help keep my thoughts in check. Start.... Current Weight - 208.5 (as of right now) *note* I am using my home scale... it is wrong (reads low) but its the best I got so I'm rolling with it ** I started this summer at 215 with the goal of 1…

As the title states, I was just wondering how you all stay motivated when it comes to working out? I enjoy exercising, but it just seems like life gets in the way too often and I can't keep my motivation up and stick with a routine. As of now I haven't done a workout for probably two months. Don't get me wrong, I don't just sit around on my ass all day. I have a very physically demanding job, and I'm the one that does the majority of the housework (because I'm anal about how it's done ). I've had back problems for the last 11 or 12 years and gave up on weights several years ago, as I kept hurting myself. I turned to kettlebells and bodyweight, and a neurologist tha…

  7. So as some of you know, i was diagnosed with "terminal" colon cancer in July of 09. I was told i would not see Christmas of 09, but here I am cancer free. I have always been a lifter, of the old school caliber. Eat a ton of peanut butter after a workout, ingest carbs for quick recovery and energy, lift heavy to failure after 3-6 reps 3-4 sets., 3-4 day break. But when I got sick i dropped from 6'1" 230 to 168#. They had me gain to 200#s with a very high protein diet. But I was flabby, and unhappy. I was finally released to work out, with limited core work because of all my surgeries and fears of tearing my abdominal wall and causing a hernia. I had 24 staples from my dick…

Hi everyone, I would like some help on how I can gain alot more weight and built at the same time . I am 17 years old and will be 18 in May. I am currently standing 5'4" and weigh 122lbs. I believe I am as fit as I can be, I have abs, large arms and chest.. but I feel as if I'm too small. I really want to get up to 155-165lbs muscle. I'm pretty tired of my lean look.. Friends have been giving me alot of pointers and alot of them are really different from each other. some friends tell me i should eat a bunch of stuff like fast food and snacks to gain the weight, then eat right and start my training. others say eat a little bit more and maintain my active schedule. I'…

So I've decided to get back into the gym after awhile. I started using the JEFit app on my ipod/Note 2, it's a great app that has tons of submitted workout profiles, you can also make your own, it tracks your progress, suggests where you should be hitting after X weight. It's pretty awesome. Also it syncs your data to their website so whether you use your ipod one day or your android device another day it'll all be up to date. I work out 5 days a week which usually looks like Mon: Chest & Tricepts Tue: legs and Abs Wed: Back And Abs Thu: Biceps and shoulders Fri: Run day Sat: rest Sun Rest. So monday: Bench Press 5 sets of 6x125 lbs Incline bench 3 sets 8x95lbs D…

I've been thinking about getting a gym membership for a couple of months now, and I am hoping I could get some general pointers from some of you who are experienced. Right now I'm not even sure what I can/want to get out of going to the gym. I am pretty big into wakeboarding, and I race motocross fairly frequently. I love both of these sports, and I think I could take them to the next level if I spent time training at the gym to get in shape. I'm fairly slim right now, measuring 6'2" in height and I weigh around 145-150 lbs. If it matters, I'm 17 years old right now. I'd like to gain strength and cardio to help me improve at the sports I mentioned above, and a nice toned …

Do you have a favorite food recipe? Post it up! Here is one of my favorite breakfast recipes : Oatmeal, cottage cheese, egg, banana pancakes 1/2 cup oatmeal (Quaker oats 100% natural whole grain) 1/2 cup lowfat cottage cheese (Friendship 1%) 3 whole eggs 1 banana Grind all the ingredients in a food processor minus the banana. Mash the banana into the mixture. Pan fry the mixture with coconut oil (the MCT oil is an added bonus) into 4-6" round cakes. Makes 4-5 cakes depending on size. I top the cakes either with honey or peanut butter but taste great with nothing else added. A buddy of mine likes to add coco to the mixture. Good sources of protein, ca…

I have been doing some research about diet pills lately to really see what was in them, what they are all about, and if they are really worth using. I thought I would share some of my findings and formulated opinions and would love to hear others as well. I would like to state that I am doing this research under the premise that the subject is participating in a diet and exercise regiment of some kind. It is simply obvious that no results can be healthily achieved through diet pills alone. The 3 must work together. It seems to me there are about 3 different things diet pills target. 1. Increased Energy - Diet pills tend to include caffeine, guarana and such. These type of…

  15. Screw the mind-numbingly boring Elliptical machine. Lifting weights on machines is too repetitive. You need to change it up and start injuring people who have no gym etiquette. They are morons and will always be morons, so they deserve it. Right? Here's a few targets that are in every gym that will surely challenge even the most in-shape guys around... - The nubnutz that drops the dumbells 4 feet above the bench after he's done with his chest press. For him, it's a self-worth booster; for you, a perfect opptunity to work on your right hook! - Mr Upright Row With Wayyytomuchpuckingweight. Give him an upper cut just before his last rep of body-swinging the bar to his chin. …

Ok so this might get a bit long winded. So everyone believes that their metabolism is what keeps them skinny or fat, which to an extent is true, but in reality what you eat is. In simple terms Calories In > Calories burned = Fat Gain Calories burned > Calories in = fat loss Metabolism is the process by which your body converts what you eat and drink into energy. During this complex biochemical process, calories in food and beverages are combined with oxygen to release the energy your body needs to function. Even when you're at rest, your body needs energy for all its "hidden" functions, such as breathing, circulating blood, adjusting hormone levels, and gro…

It's been three months, training 4x a week and completely changing my eating habits I've lost about 15lbs of pure fat, but my main goal is to gain a lot of lean muscle mass. I haven't been doing much cardio or abs so I need to pick up on those two things... tell me what you think of my progress so far 2/23/09, First week in the gym 173lbs 5/9/09, 160lbs

I made it into the 1000 pound club earlier this year. The 1000 pound club is when your bench, squat, and deadlift add up to at least 1000 lbs. I am 17 years old (18 tomorrow) 5'10" 240lbs. 200lbs bench, 355lbs squat, 495lbs deadlift. I have made much improvement this year. I work out only 2-3 days a week at school in weights class. My agility, endurance, and strength have improved far more than i could say that i expected.

My question is, a lot of people at my work use the gallon milk jugs and go to town with the water. How much should i realistically attempt to consume in a day? One of my main problems is, i work 4 days a week, so i have a whole lot of nothing to do for 3 days, i'm trying to save up for a new jetski for next season so i try not to spend money on stupid things... emphasi…

A little bit of background first. For the last couple years, I've had a bit of a gut. Not much because I was always working outdoors, but a bit. Last year I took a job working in an office with it's own cafeteria, that I would eat at a lot. Combine that with going through a McDonald's phase, a lot of pepsi and a lot of alcohol, I've gained a fair bit of weight. I'm 5'11", and I weigh somewhere around 220. I've never really been to the gym before, never really worked out. I used to ride my bike a lot and that kept me in shape, but then I got my license and a truck. My sister is getting married in the middle of January, and I'd like to be as healthy/light as possible before…
