umm..i was looking recently at steve meade design for his current box and i was kinda fascinated o how a short port brings about such a response ..ive plotted some on winisd but could someone help on the type and how it works..to me it just seems like hole in the box...just sayin..help will be greatly appreciated..thanks .brandon

I call this the Kidney stone box........ I thought I was going to friggin DIE during the construction of this one :cry: anyways..here is the finished product..... for a pair of RF T215D4 subs......5.5cf3 plus displacements tuned at 33hz

this enclosure has a down firing port..... over hangs the rear seat in a 2008 Dodge Ram Quad and unloads down towards the floor

i have a 99 dakota club cab and total space to use 49w 20h 18.5d. i have a fi q18 and 1k powering it. ive tried a couple setups but cant find a setup loud enough. my truck peaks at 42hz but i cant get it to hit over 141db. i have tried sub up port to side/passenger side. sub forward port forward. sub forward port side/driver side. tried 4.5cf 7.94cf single 4in port and dual 6in port. if any ideas id love the help

i wanted to know if it is possible for me to make a box for behind my seat in my 1991 mustang convertible. i would like to make the height as tall as the back bench seat so its not that noticable. the height is 11.5 inches depth 8-10 depending on how far up or back the front seats are and plently of length. and there is a hump in the middle between the seats.if this is possible would i have to use shallow mount subs? thanks

Need a box designed for a Cerwin Vega Vmax 12.2 500W RMS 1000W Max. Cutout is 11.4" I am looking for a 30hz tune. Had one designed, and almost fully built, come to finish and subwoofer would not fit the front plate.

It’s been a good run for me but after the last couple years I’v realized that I got nothing left for the hobby.....i’v been more into spending my spare time with my family with no more interest in taking on any more projects.. not even local I’m officially done , I have no further plans on building anything car audio related unless it is for myself my wife or my kids....my current system build will be my last And this will be my last post on SSA take care ..... hey what size would you recommend for 2 xcon 15s and 2 sundown 1500s going in the back of a 2005 dodge quad cab truck. my MAX measurement on width is 57" and on depth is 24". height is flexible but i dont want it blocking the window lol

Hey how much would a 3.5 cube enclosure be with a fiber glass top ported and kerfed, just a fiberglass topplate to add some zest! lol also just wondering How do you get the paint in the port? Do you just paint it before you put the box together? Do you just use a spray gun with the usual primer, color, clear? Please LMK i read through all 26 pages of your smd thread trying to find something about how you paint and all you say is: "Ii just need to wait for the urethane to clear" LOL so i am assuming you use a urethane color coat or clear coat? IF you wanted to mentiom the brands you use the would be sweet but not necessary Thanks man, and awesome work!

I took out the plastic tool box thingy behind the rear seats of the Quad Cab... not much room and the rear wall has a channel brace and tie down loops... :? remove the tie down loops... space is an issuue but he wants this system to pound....he will probably be running ab out 2400w rms a little test fit.... the rear seats will be getting custom brackets...they will be shifted forward and up.... there will be a 4" PVC port coming out each end of the enclosure down low by the floor

for a pair of Kicker 12" L7's...3.50cf3 plus displacements tuned at 35hz

Just a little update for those minds that want to know..... only 3 and 1/2 weeks of school left and I'll be back to work...there are a couple of future projects and enclosure request builds coming so I will be back

Just curious as to what are the differences in performance between your regular slot ported boxes to your Kerf Flared Slot Ported boxes..do they just play lower and are built better? Or do they sound alot better? Just curious as they are around 70 more dollars thanks! :clap:
