I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but mine still look brand new. I've seen a few guys complain about the leads. I still have the original cones. Even after multiple multiple multiple 160+ burps. I've yet to find a problem. Maybe I know when to turn the volume down, maybe because my amps are set clean, maybe I don't have enough power. It's funny though because after hearing about these issues others were having, I got scared and ordered a spare recone. Still new in the box. Thanks Quentin.

I've received several emails and PM's on how I create my spider packs. I needed to make some more jigs to keep up with production so I figured I'll show how I do it. The spiders I use do NOT lay flat they must be pressed. This is how they look stacked. This is the bottom portion of the jig. It has cut outs for the spider to lay into along with cut outs for the leads. I put a bead of glue around the outside and the inside diameter of the spider. It doesn't take much just a small bead. Then they are stacked on top of each other. In this case 4. Note that NO accelerator is used ONLY CA glue. Then the top goes on and is tightened down with the bolt and…

I have a 99 yukon denali (aka tahoe) that I want to upgrage to 4 dss ethos 18s. I currently have 6 xfl 12s on 7k in a 12.2 cube net box. I have about 7 inches of space between the port and the back door. Do you think I can get 4 18s in this space or should I stick with going 4 15s? Currently I have my batteries and 2 amps behind the back seats as well.

Are there any designs that have been posted for a single 12 ported enclosure? I have no clue as to how to design one. I'm sure I could try myself but would rather trust someone who actually knows what they're doing. Thanks!

  10. I will be offering a three year warranty on DSS drivers and I need a way to track them so a sticker with a serial number will be placed in the rebate on the rear of the motors to hide the tool mark from being turned on the lathe. The below logos are what I have been working on (be gentle it's my first time using Corel). Which one do y'all prefer? The blue will be a royal blue and the white will be brushed aluminum.

  12. I am curious if all parts to build a complete 18" sub can be purchased through you, including motors? I was thinking it could help me with my over all build wait time. I've seen the thread with near everything short of the motor on 12's & 15's. Thanks Q, looking forward to 4-18's in my rebuild

  15. As the title says I am looking for competitors to do R&D on a large SPL driver. For testing purposes only one driver will be available in either a 12, 15, or 18. This is a very large driver weighing about 105 pounds. Below is a comparison picture of the driver's coil next to a Ethos and FI BTL N3 coil. The coil is 95mm long 3 inch 8 layer dual one ohm coil with an Re of .9 ohms per coil. The coil produces a BL of 51.5 and a motor force factor of 1,484. I am looking for a seasoned competitor with a few years experience preferably someone that has attended nationals a few times. If you are interested send me a PM with your info.

Orders are now closed for all Ethos drivers. Estimated time of arrival on the orders purchased through the preorder is scheduled in towards the end of October. We will update customers as we get more up to date information from our suppliers. We are working on getting all soft parts assembled so we will only have to drop in the soft parts once the motors arrive. This will minimize build time greatly. All pre-order sales are final. No refunds will be issued for pre-orders. The arrival time is an estimated timeframe only. The drivers could arrive earlier or later than expected. Due to unexpectedly high sales volume we have sold 90 percent of the Ethos motors ordered…

Went thru many amplifier changes before the build was even complete.Went from a Atomic 5k to a DD M4 to a Tara HD8000. Used my burp box in another vehicle and built a street box for the Etho 15s. Have had minimal playtime with them but the initial results were good. Tight accurate response. Did have a small hiccup that has had a band-aid put on just to get some testing in and show them off at a little local show tomorrow. So far ive done a 148 flat with them sealed on the dash from 44-47hz which is close to my vehicles peak. Have not done any meca style metering yet but in the past thats where it has typically shined. Going to play around with some more enclosures once i …

Just needed to show a few pics of some recent recones that were done on the Ethos. I'll let Quentin give any details if he chooses to, but I put a slight personal touch to them and feel that I'm pretty good at laying down a bead of glue here or there. Plus, I needed a reason to take pics with this LG G3. It has friggin laser aiming.

  25. So my setup consists of 2 Ethos 15s on a HD-8000 in a 03 impala. First try at the setup was a 6 cube street box with external ports tuned to 39hz. Musically fierce but with a flat response from the lower 40s to 50hz. With a slight peak at 47hz. I metered at 48 sealed on the dash in this round of testing. Typically i run MECA and my car has seemed to favor being open to meter in the past. For a daily guy i could see it doing much better with a low 30-32hz tuning for some good daily listening. Now to try something different i pulled my ports off and made some plate covers. Just wanted to see if i could get a better low end response. It did pick up alot more low end with…
