  1. The DSS section is a paid forum section dedicated to the advertisement of the Direct Sound Solutions brand and it's customers. Endless bantering will not be tolerated. If member or especially a moderator does not agree with the specifics of someone else's post, notate your point and move on. so as alot of you know, i have ran sundown for many years in the lincoln, and recently the Zcons, and then back to the sundowns.. well after following the long coming of the ethos i decided to give them a shot....... i was very impressed with the packing, first off.. i have bought a lot of big subs.. but none were packed like these, .. they didn't move an inch in shipping, ill show you why!! gotta love wood ! and this idea i liked alot, it keeps the motor from moving, and of course wood on the bottom now lets look at the sub, first thing that caught my eye was the raised lettered dust cap, its classy and different, and the cone its self is nice …

MEANING IF A COMPETITOR IS INTERESTED A CURRENT TEAM MEMBER MUST CONTACT DDS AND PERSONALLY REFER THE COMPETITOR. 4) COMPETITORS THAT ARE ELIGIBL…

  7. I had a sample of this driver sent along with the Ethos production run. I don't have pics of the actual motor yet. When Nick slows down a bit he will send some to me with some group shots off all the motors I had made. This driver offers 22.5mm xmax per overhang method. It will be ~27mm per the typical 70% BL rating. The entire stoke of the coil is covered in aluminum faraday rings. All the way from the bottom plate up to about 20mm above the top plate. As long as prices stay the same I plan on releasing the Beta version which uses open tooled soft parts for $375 shipped for the 12 inch. RMS rating should be in the 1,000 watt range and enclosure recommendatio…

Are there any designs that have been posted for a single 12 ported enclosure? I have no clue as to how to design one. I'm sure I could try myself but would rather trust someone who actually knows what they're doing. Thanks!

  20. So my setup consists of 2 Ethos 15s on a HD-8000 in a 03 impala. First try at the setup was a 6 cube street box with external ports tuned to 39hz. Musically fierce but with a flat response from the lower 40s to 50hz. With a slight peak at 47hz. I metered at 48 sealed on the dash in this round of testing. Typically i run MECA and my car has seemed to favor being open to meter in the past. For a daily guy i could see it doing much better with a low 30-32hz tuning for some good daily listening. Now to try something different i pulled my ports off and made some plate covers. Just wanted to see if i could get a better low end response. It did pick up alot more low end with…

I've seen the thread with near everything short of the motor on 12's & 15's. Thanks Q, looking forward to 4-18's in my rebuild

I turned over his contacts to Quentin and the rest will be history. I'll update this thread as more videos come available. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8p9a5kUpWGU&feature=youtube_gdata_player

  23. We have been working on a middle line of drivers that will be called the Genisis series for a while now. The will come in 10, 12, and 15 inch sizes. These are xbl drivers and will be assembled in the US with US softparts aside form the spiders which are from an American company but are produced in Mexico with American textiles. All we are waiting on now are the spiders and final testing. We should have a preorder starting within the next month or so for around $175-$200 shipped. We also have a HIGH BL HIGH output line that is still in the design stage, which if it turn out in the real world as it does on paper will be called the Divine series. We all know the Adire B…
