Sound Deadener on a Roll?
2 pointsIt's weird how often threads on this topic end up like this. I guess this was directed at me but I'm glad everybody got a chance to share in the hilarity. I keep thinking I'll respond to one or another of your rambling points but without knowing if you are being deliberately dishonest or are just an incoherent imbecile, it's kind of hard to zero in. Just for the fun of it: Does your claim about bicep size relative to waist size apply to fat people? How critical is this concept to your self image. It really doesn't have to get into fat people territory - anything but the waist of a skinny child is freak show territory. Why should we argue with you instead of cthedinger? He's already stated that you don't know what you're talking about. You said you were partners. Three possibilities: 1) Business partners (would make sense since he's promoting a business). 2) Domestic partners. 3) Old timey western pals. Are you two cowboys?2 points

1991 Honda CRX Si
1 pointRecently i've decided to upgrade my front stage. I've thought about it for a year, but made the first move when my left speaker went out. When i bought the car a year and a half ago there were 4 speakers in the car. The front 2 5.25 were dead, beyond my understanding of why they were still in the car. The morning after i got the car home i took those out and put the rear 6.5s in the front doors. Still this didn't do much for the "music" they made. But i dealt with them 'till now. Within a few months i got a new HU, the JVC KD-s100. I'm happy with it, it has all the features i needed at the time, but i plan to upgrade that in the future with more crossover settings, if possible. With this i was able to hook my sub amp up and put the 15 in, luckily enough it fit in the back. It was built for a trunk, so it's not the best box for a trunk... oh well. Planned upgrades: Solid 4 channel amp: The summer before i even bought the CRX i came across several deals to do with this. First was a guy on here that sold me a 75.4 kicker amp, brand new. Then Jacob started a trade in program, so i turned in the kicker and gave some cash up for the 100.4 that's in my car now. Sundown FTW! Mids: My first plan was to get some MLi-65s from Mach 5 audio. But they were out of stock for do damn long (are they even stocked yet?) i started shopping for new mids. I wanted to do as little fab. work as possible, so i was stuck on 6.5s. After weeks of scrounging the internet for info on these i hit up a dealer on SSA and asked a few questions about them. The only thing holding me back was the price; there were nothing but positive reviews on these drivers, i figured they have to be worth the price. Tweets: after seeing what everyone else was running their carbons at (~2500hz) i figured i needed a tweet that could play pretty low, while being able to perform on 4 ohms, to keep things simple. I kept coming back to the Seas Prestige 27TFFNC/G (H1396) 1" Textile Dome Tweeter. https://www.madisound.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=45_229_324&products_id=1466 These can go all the way down to 2500khz! perfect! Misc: You can't upgrade your front stage without a little deadening, so i sent Don at http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi to see what needs to be done. I couldn't really do the "whole meal deal" because of funds, so i did what was really bare minimum. I ordered 14 CLD tiles and a roll of extruded butyl rope. Doors will stripped and stuck. On with some pics! Car and a stock door.1 point

1 pointlol yeah my girlfriend stayed at her house tonight so i said why not... and thanks i love my dog soo much, more than the girlfriend.... (of like five years) anyways i just swept after each cut i made, kinda blew everything off. i work pretty clean, i like to clean up as i work. kinda a habit i had to get into working on aircraft, cant leave tools laying on top of engine deck then have it fly off. hahaha. i dont have many wood working tools obviously, not table saw, no router. skill saw, which i started using a fence but then got lazy and started free handing... =/ they cam out pretty damn good though so im happy. hopefully it holds up...1 point

Box Design
1 pointafter calculating net volume after port and sub displacement, using 3 6" ports, you will end up with about 3 cubic feet per sub. Or 2 cubic feet per port. If you use that much port area each port will need to be about 33" long to tune to 32 hertz1 point

Box Design
1 pointIf doing a pair of 6" round ports, you need to use flared aeroports. They can be found at www.partsexpress.com. The whole 12-16in^2 of port per ft^3 doesn't apply to aeros because the flared ends make them less susceptible to port noise, so you're able to get away with less port area. I've used single 6" aeros on a lot of 15" subs and they work fine. If you want, you can use three, but you're going to have to get your own thin-wall PVC to make the ports long enough; the kit from psp allows for just 17" total length.1 point

2 BTL's or 4 X's
1 pointI would do BTLs personally. If you have room for 4 15" subs why not 2 18" BTLs? Or were you going to seal the 4 15s? It would help if you provided more info such as goals, budget, electrical, vehicle, etc.1 point

1 pointThe owner referenced a prototype and then a product they are coming out with. Not that is out. Perhaps a misunderstanding. Either way, he seems to be shooting himself in the foot pretty early in the business plan with his poor methods of promoting his product. And having cronies like yourself certainly don't help the situation any. Turning off customers and recommendations before the business really gets going is a great method for failure. Because I know I sure as hell won't be buying any now, nor will I ever recommend the product based solely off of the you and the owner's behavior. Great job. Keep up the good work. Losing sales is a good part of any business model. You must have me confused with someone else. I have no product for sale and affiliation with no business. Thank god. My dick's bigger. There, glad we have that out of the way. LOL....1 point

System for my Hyundai - Sundown,JL Audio, Crescendo, Audiocontrol, DEI
Here is a shot of the mock-up for the amp layouts and DQXS. I am trying to cram three pounds into a one pound container and it sucks! This shot shows a couple fuse holders and my relay for my volt meter and turn-ons. I need to seal the trunk off yet. Finally have my volt meter designed and wired up. It is clearly visible from any seating position within the cabin. Vehicle on, HU is in "Standby" (off) mode. Vehicle on, HU is in "Ipod" (on) mode1 point

Front Comps
1 pointHey man I currently own 2-sets of Zapco RB13.2 (the blue 5.25) and let me tell you I have both sets hooked up to a 100.4 and they are amazing! my sub stage is 5krms 2-12inch NS v1 and they keep up with those no questions! very loud and not to harsh at all! keep in mind mine are the 5.25 mids they aren't as loud as I would like them but they do the job nicely! well that is my opinion on the zapco very loud and they can keep up no issue there with the smaller set I have the midbass isn't quite there though! but please don't buy based on my report of them. you need to listen to a set and go from there it is how i choose my comps! and I liked them so much I made a second purchase! my purchase price was 350/set off ebay! enjoy and I hope you find what you are looking for! I vote for zapco though lol!1 point

Front Comps
1 pointIf you have a 4 channel amp, going active is almost no-brainer... I am not sure the type of crossover that amp has, but you can get a really nice outboard one for around $100, even less used... Also, with that type of budget, and if I were going active, you could do alot better than most of the stuff on that list.... If you are building pods could you fit a full size tweeter? (like 3.5-4" round) If so, you have literally 100s of choices if you look into the higher end "home audio" drivers... To be honest, even the top end Focal/Dynaudio/Hertx etc are no better than the $40 tweeters and woofers you find on the home audio DIY market... Read the tweeter tests and midwoofer tests here: www.zaphaudio.com You could get an idea of what I am talking about.... Additionally, $125-150 in Dayton Reference drivers (2 woofers and 2 tweeters) from Parts Express with a decent active crossover would probably (well almost definetly) be better than everything mentioned above in all but the bottom octave (say 50-100Hz)... Just some food for thought.... There is no reason for a 3-way set if you are running a substage..... I, and a few others would be willing to help you pick some drivers out once you figure your space constraints...1 point

Sound Deadener on a Roll?
1 pointSo right now you are "selling" vaporware? So you didn't get an idea for a product, you got an idea for a price point then had someone else design a product (that you didn't understand) to fit that price point. At present, said product doesn't actually exist. Your marketing plan so far consists of promoting a product that doesn't actually exist and that you don't actually understand, making apparently outrageous claims about it's performance then deleting those comments, and finding reasons to trash competing products such as the picture of RaaMat you posted earlier? That's pretty tactless and demonstrates terrible business ethic. It also helps if you type in English. Your grammar and spelling is atrocious for an individual promoting a product and business. Sounds like a solid plan you have going there.1 point

"New" 4 channel amp for my highs. 22 year old Sony XM-5540 4 channel bridged at 240 (underrated) rms x 2 @ 4 ohms to my 4 Selenium 6w4p's. Really brought them to life. Never had anything sound so CLEAN in my life. This thing is a current hog though. I drop .5 volts with just the highs playing full tilt, lol. Absolutely love it. Trying to get the guy who is loaning it to me to sell it. He has a matching XM-5540F from 91' (had built in x-over, mine don't) in his car. Only 2 we know of. Make with the pics. Bottom one is mine. Sound Deadener on a Roll?
1 pointThe root of all of this is the thread on another forum that I mentioned earlier. I would post a link to it, but cthedinger deleted all of his posts from it. It's fine for him to act like he has been victimized by me here, but I only became aware of the other thread because members there were outraged by the false allegation cthedinger made against me and my products and asked me to join and respond. It doesn't seem reasonable to attack and expect there to be no consequences. Unfortunately, since cthedinger chose to obliterate his contribution to that thread, the evidence is gone. It's also disingenuous to cry foul after stating that he wouldn't trust RAAMmat BXT II in his car when what he showed as his reason is pretty obviously a physically damaged sample. He never mentioned this damage in his review video leaving us to imagine where and how the damage occurred. At the same time, we're being asked to trust the superior quality of a product that's different than the prototype, doesn't seem to exist and apparently hasn't been seen by anybody, including cthedinger. Very strange development cycle, IMO. I'd suggest sending out samples of a shipping product. I know I'd be interested in seeing it. Oddly enough, I'd give an honest opinion. There are posts all over the place where I've commented favorably on competing products. Dynamat, Cascade and Second Skin all sell very good products. Cthedinger may too, but it's obviously premature for anybody to be claiming anything, one way or the other about his products. At this point all we have to evaluate are his antics1 point

1 pointAudiowrap makes his deadner? Same build house. I know you know that. Not sure why you'd want to reveal that. "Build house" is an interesting choice of terms. Audiowrap is a side project for Protectowrap. Protectowrap is a roofing materials manufacturer. Audiowrap may be a good product - don't know, haven't seen it, but I have seen several other of their roofing products that other people have cynically sold as vibration dampers when they were noting of the sort. I also know that it was only a few months ago that your partner announced his product, was asked on another forum to explain how vibration dampers work and e-mailed me (under false pretenses) to ask how they work, unaware that I was watching that thread. I explained to him why his announced configuration would perform poorly. Since he re-announced the new configuration within days, I have to assume this was the extent of his testing. All of this and some of his past appearances have led me to certain conclusions, most of which I'll keep to myself, but cover everything with vibration damper as a solution for every application is a ship that sailed several years ago. "works extremely hard to portray a professional and honest image" is putting the cart before the horse. In any case, my post stands and you confirmed my assertion. I was a little bitchier than I like to be but your partner's previous behaviors have rubbed me the wrong way. Good luck with the endeavor. Dynamat is manufactured in sheets, as is Cascade VMax, Second Skin's products and several others.1 point- Tacoma Cut Through

Have done a lot of engine machining, used to build engines with my dad. 1 pointGot most of the 1st round of welding done on the frame today. I even welded all the lower corners. I want to do as much of the welding as I can while the frame is locked down on the jig. Also welded the housing ends on the rearend. I full welded the inside for now. I'm holding off on doing the outside, I may take it to my friends shop and use his tig welder for the outside weld. Then I started polishing down some weld. This section is ready to be rounded over. This section will need some more weld first. It's a little hard to tell but the white looking areas are low spots. Basically I will end up grinding all the welds down then going back over everything again with another bead of weld to build the shoulder up then grind it all a second time to get the perfect squared corner. After I get the entire frame to that point I'll round all the corners over. The corners have got to be smooth and straight without any bondo.1 point- Subwoofer Brands

1 pointI guess being a good mod makes him a troll. Are you mad that you're the only one hanging from kevin's scamming nuts? I guess scamming car audio people isn't enough, he's going to scam the shipping company as well. Adrian_D, nice ninja edit. Wait, you're a mod, you can always ninja edit. lol. Rather rude. Phi - He must not be the only one, but instead one of 3,000 unique customers I've dealt with this year alone in the last two months. Let it rest - I am helping this guy out, this is not a public bashing topic You continue to lie and try to make the OP hide his bad transaction with you like you have in the past. I guess you can have 3 million positive transactions when you make the bad ones hidden or change your company name to erase your past. Are you mad that you're the only one hanging from kevin's scamming nuts? I guess scamming car audio people isn't enough, he's going to scam the shipping company as well. I am just laughing at this to be honest.....because everyone around the forums I go to has had great deals with kevin. I am just the only one dumb enough to still try and go on these forums where you morons hang out. Only a handful of people on this site who have been helpful to me anyways. I just hate seeing someones name getting drug through the mud because of an ebay deal..... enjoy all your d riding jokes though because at the end of the day my car shits on yours AND I got great customer service throughout the whole process. You think his bad name is only on this forum? Try to ask about him on Ca or CACO and see what you get. And I give no shits about your vehicle. I do my own work and not have to rely on others to build my system for me.1 point- jl w7 vs fi btl
1 pointYour not going to get any help if you ask broad questions like that, I promise you. Too many other variables come into play as to which will be louder. Enclosure, volume, tuning, installation, etc. W7s are nice drivers, there is no doubt about it. But they also come at a hefty price. Many think (I included) can get drivers that perform just as well to our standards for a fair amount less. Why don't you give us some background as to what vehicle your looking to add a sub stage to. What have you listened to before? What is loud to you? I'm assuming your going for SPL, in a daily driver, not competing? Personally I'd just get the btl and call it a day.1 point- Kevin S

Between working overtime and family stuff I havent had much time at all to work on my install. Biggest update is that I am ditching the 3 way setup I was doing for the front stage. I scored a set of USD A-700 waveguides modified with Selenium DH200E-E drivers :dancing: :dancing: :dancing: I am awaiting funds to purchase SDS products for the trunk then the build will really take off. I made a mock-up box that is the same size as my subwoofer enclosure. It is much easier to move the mock-up box around than the +100lbs subwoofer enclosure. Plan A. Have the subwoofer enclosure mounted rear facing. I made an external skeleton brace. I thought it was going to work...... I think the 15" would be chocked off. My trunk is too small for a box this big rear facing. Plan B. Forward facing subwoofer sealed from trunk1 point- 2 18's in the accord

Tomorrow the Alpine cda9883 is going in and also getting my passenger window tinted the same as the driver side window.
