System for my Hyundai - Sundown,JL Audio, Crescendo, Audiocontrol, DEI
Pods are coming out great, on an awesome track What's the port length for the pods? Just eye balling it, looks like 0.4-0.6cubes for enclosure volume, and 4"-5" port diameter?1 point

HDC3 15 ??
1 pointIf I built a system to be loud and I went with 1 15" Icon on 1k I would be disappointed. Everyone's version of loud is different, kind of a subjective word use to describe a sub. I'm sure people wont have a problem understanding what i'm getting at. Actually they will if they arent a competitor or driving around with a system capable of 150+ db's.1 point

We use mothballs with great success. But since I'm guessing your vehicle is a daily driver that probably won't work :/ Thought I'd share anyways.1 point

1 pointYou won't find many people saying they produce decent sound. They're peaky subs that's just the way it is. If he wants something that sounds better he should keep looking1 point- dd vs. dc vs.fi vs. treo

1 pointAre you American? If so, invest the money into our own economy, and get a far better built product, go SSA or Fi. I run Fi so I'll recommend them, but either sub will do. SSA is geared towards more SQ, they are no slouch when it comes to getting loud though. Fi is more about getting loud but they also sound pleasant, especially compared to other SPL geared subwoofers out there.1 point- System for my Hyundai - Sundown,JL Audio, Crescendo, Audiocontrol, DEI
X2 Great work. Your dedication and attention to detail is paying off.1 point- Plan on ordering tomorrow what amp?
When buying a refurb, I don't think they give specifics, but a call to them could explain all. They are very helpfull. This was the responce about my repair: "It had the standard problems, loose output inductor broke legs on a transistor next to it, voltage regulator filter caps had bad solder joints and 15V+ voltage regulator was bad because of it. All fixed up and everything siliconed in place now, way better than it was new." Wow, almost sounds like the build quality was poor to begin with.1 point- System for my Hyundai - Sundown,JL Audio, Crescendo, Audiocontrol, DEI

The fiberglassing turned out really well. I can't wait to see how it looks with that port. Keep up the good work1 point- System for my Hyundai - Sundown,JL Audio, Crescendo, Audiocontrol, DEI
Lookin' Damn Good!!! Still think it's trippy that one of those holes will be a port!!! Keep it comin' !1 point- Center Channel
1 pointWithout the necessary processing, IMO it would be more of a hindrance than an aid. I know you have (had) pretty minimal processing....adding a center channel to that type of setup is probably not going to work well just based of off general acoustic principles. Or at the very least it will be very difficult to get right. For starters you would have to make sure all 3 speakers were equidistant (or very close thereto) otherwise the time arrival is going to be off. Second, from the drivers seat you are going to have left-side info coming from the center of the vehicle and far right info also coming from the center of the car.....that's going to hinder the width and proper image placement significantly. That's before we consider the possible constructive/destructive interference it could introduce into the frequency response and such. Good intentions. I just think that's the wrong method of achieving your goals....atleast without having the proper processing. Are you trying to get a more solid center after moving your mids to the doors? Easiest way to achieve that is with time alignment, which I don't think you have/had. But really it would make a world of difference. Time alignment and even FR from both sides of the vehicle (independently) will take care of a large portion of the center image ques. Ofcourse you would have a one-seater then. But that's the price of mids in the doors.1 point- Plan on ordering tomorrow what amp?
What is it with people having no patience these days?? I would rather wait for a product with a long proven reputation than get a product that has little time to prove itself yet. I'm really not putting Crescendo down here, but simply giving my opinion.1 point- System for my Hyundai - Sundown,JL Audio, Crescendo, Audiocontrol, DEI
Pods turned out great!1 point- 100.4 blowing fuses
1 pointContact Sundown at [email protected] or [email protected] and explain what the problem is. If it's out of warranty contact Chris at dB-r Electronics1 point- dd vs. dc vs.fi vs. treo
1 pointAre these still the same as they was +6 years ago? If soooo they sure ain't worth suggesting compared to other drivers that cost less and are up to date. IMO1 point- Welcome to the IHoP
1 pointDon't exceed 225 and let it go until the meat is 185 and you will be golden. The rest will just make it better. Start with cold meat and make sure the smoke is rolling when you put it on My plan is to keep it right around 200 with some heavy smoke. I will rub it the day before and keep it in the frig. I was told 1-1.5 hrs per pound so if I put it on at 10pm it should be ready for supper the next day. Also with this Mavrick unit I have I can watch the grate and internal meat temps. I smoked a 10 pound bag of wings with hot wing rub and they went quick. I was suprised how good they were! Make sure to check out http://www.nakedwhiz.com/elder.htm1 point- Now Playing!

Great to make time for the family!!!! Glad to see you have overcome the fiberglass hardening problem... Practice makes perfect. You'll be a resin/glass pro by the end of these doors!!1 point- Wiring two batteries in one car?
1 pointThis was the basis for this discussion and the statement is the most important one here. Never did I state not to use a gauge, but it is no more important than other gauges. If you "have" to watch a gauge it means you are expecting a failure. I personally would make sure the design is such that you don't expect one and is a much better idea than monitoring it to make sure. As for the protecting the thousands you spend on a system, there are other more expensive repairs that can happen as well. Does everyone monitor their transmission temp, engine oil pressure, gas/air mixture and so on? Any one of those systems failing is surely going to create more expense than an undervoltage on an amplifier. So which do you add first? If you answer any other way than the one you expect to most likely fail your answer is idiotic. If you design your system such that you create the voltage scenario as the one most likely to fail, I'd change your design before adding a meter which was my original point. So yeah, meh on blindly recommending a meter. Install/design the system correctly instead. He needs to blow a few subs and amps before he learns.like my nephew.1 point- Alt not increasing voltage at idle!
-1 pointsIn the begining he had a AQ2200d, sooooo. But regardless, why didn't Ohio Gen catch it if it had a problem in the begining when he sent it back? Unless they didn't want to do warranty work on it. And Mechman, I know I gave you a hard time in that one thread, still didn't change the fact I know yall do very good work and have a quality product with good customer service.-1 points- HDC3 15 ??
