You going to be PM'ing people on the board that is partially paid for by said SSA Store because the SSA Store follows the XS POWER dealer agreement and sells at the price we are supposed to and we do not control the shipping costs? The store I found sold the batteries at the same price as SSA, but with free shipping. Now I would like to support SSA, but $243 is not pocket change for a student. And I did not send any PM's about anything. I was not talking to you, hence the point about PM'ing people. We had this issue badly with Sundown and SKAR "reps" in the past, along with RD "reps" bashing product to push their own, all the while using the forum to make a buck. Lowest form of life.

I was considering those but they are rated at 85 rms. I feel since they are IA they are probably underrated and I'm concern I wont be able to get them loud enough with 70rms, or will I just be clipping them at higher volumes. RMS is not an important factor when going to buy comps, get what fits your budget and what you like. If you do get the IA components and they dont seem loud enough to you then sell your amp and buy an amp that puts out more power. But like others said, going from coaxials on head unit power to components on an amplifier will be a night and day difference.

You would not be able to wire down to .66 you're options are 1.34, 3 or a 12 ohm load. Whomever told you you would reach .66 was wrong. I was only able to get down to .66 with dual 2's and 6 of them. Thats why he said he has (3) dual 4 ohm drivers and not (3) dual 2 ohm drivers, with (3) dual 4 ohm drivers 0.66 ohm load is possible along with a 2.67 ohm load.

Are you getting another type of dustcap made or is that what you will be using? They look like shit. Just an opinion. The nav is badass looking though.

Im not gonna carpet the lid, it is sprayed with speckle paint and will stay like that. Thats exactly why I didnt make the lid take up the whole storage space and the box will be wider than it is deeper so air will be able to get down there. I just want some suggestions on if the lid should be under the carpet or on top thats all.

hmmmm.....I would say underneath for a uniform look. When I put some of my painted stuff in, it had scratches on it because of sliding the box in and out so many times. Very good input on paint being scratched off so that will be a good idea, I wont put the board in the car until I finish painting the other side and putting some type of dampening down to keep it from scratching up the paing (really taking my time with painting this time unlike other things I have painted in the past cause I always tried to finish in one day). Appreciate ya Chop, I like that idea as well (that was were I was wanting to put it also, great minds think alike but just thought I would ask my SSA Family). Yeah its not the room I like to have, but its bigger than most cars my size so Im cool with it (wish I had room for 2-15"s).

Yeah Im working on getting a board so I can start making my battery tray in the spare tire well. Yeah I like low tuning and Jacob said the lowest I should go is 28 so I decided to go 29hz. Well yeah your right but Im cool on that, this may be a temporary sub or may be permanent sub but regardless of what amp someone has the sub will resale if I want it too. I am looking at the Nightshade v2 and if I do purchase it I will have 2 subs in case something happens or dont like the Nightshade v2 or whatever. But thanks for the info.

yeah it came down to me flipping a nickel since at the time a quarter wasnt available, the Z15 won best out of 3 and 5. The board will go under carpet also.

Yeah I think the 3.5ft^3 will probably suit it better, but the tuning is something you have to decide on what you want to lose or give up or comprimise. For example: 27-30Hz (great lows, ok output) 31-35Hz (good lows and good output) 36hz or higher (ok lows and great output) After all this Im thinking I may rise my tuning to 30Hz and no higher (but 29Hz isnt that far off so it is still a toss up), we will see by the time it comes to build a box for it.

I do know that box size does play a role into the tuning equation but since nobody can give Chop a good box size to go with for that sub and he said the box seemed to big so I recommended going a little smaller. The reason why my box is so small because thats what Sundown ask for their 15"s and mine is .15ft^3 bigger than the biggest recommendation.

I havent been up to anything yet, considering Im unemployed at the moment the speed of this build log wont be that fast but I will definantly be keeping you guys posted. I will have multiple pictures of my new baby when it get heres tomorrow and a new Avatar so get ready fellas. I will be getting the bottom board for my battery rack cut sometime today or this weekend by a friend since I dont have any tools. I just met a member on this site who stays in my area who has tools so a box for this puppy may be here before you know it. Eventually sometime in the future I may get Thumper or Fisher Customs to make me an enclosure for it just because there designs are sick (depends if this sub is a keeper or not but I think it will be).

Yeah I got about 10 autographed balls in this house, I even have a hat or ball dont remember(my mom put it up somewhere) with Kobe Bryant, Shaq, Magic Johnson and some other players who played with the Lakers at the time (in elementary school my teacher loved me to death and her daughter got it signed for me since she was a cheerleader for the Lakers in the early to mid 90's.

Nothing major, I finally got the wood cut that I want to place the batteries on. Stock Battery Location in the trunk - Positive : 2 runs of 4 AWG (system and car), Ground : 2 runs of 1/0 AWG Just got wood cut for battery board, what the batteries will be laid down on and attached too.

Started on an amp board that will turn my 60/40 fold seats into one long folding seat, once I get all screws in I will put pads over screws so it wont scratch the bottom of my amps when I have done this in the past. Should be finished by end of weekend, depends on if I find a drill or not.

Yeah this was my third time doing this amp board thing and didnt know it was scratching the bottom of my amps till I took it off the last time and looked at the bottom of my SAX-125.2. I will add another SAX-125.2 with padding on the other side once I purchase it. In a minute Im gonna pull the amp up and flip the padding over so the even side will be under amp and not in the way of the settings as it is now with the elevated pieces up.

You would risk your life for an $8 board from Home Depot, I picked it out of the Book Shelf, Shelve Building section (already painted and cut to size exact/they have different sizes and colors available). But thanks for the compliment, this is my third time doing this but wanted to make this one a little more special than the last one and the padding underneath the amp does it.

I'm taking the amp too! lol Yeah dude, that padding must be like temperpedic amp bedness. Haha, yeah I only have two and will be putting the other one under my other high amp I get in the future. I wish I had two more to put under my sub amp but I have padded feet for those right now.

Yeah man thankx, Im actually looking for a good ole job now so I can speed this build log up some but it is coming slowly. Im trying to find someone to design me a temporary box until I decide to buy one from either Fisher Customs or Pound That Sound since they both do nice work. I ordered some KnuKonceptz rca's Monday, one of these days after I get some more products in I will take one of those pictures with everything that is not in the car yet but will be going in there. So hang tight guys, I have not forgot about yall but its gonna be a slow build till more money comes in .

All RCA's and y-splitters have been purchased, just came from Home Depot and grabbed some Titebond II and clear silicone from Wal-mart earlier this weekend. On my last box I used nails and trying to figure out which route I want to go this time nails or screws? Since I dont want to rent any tools and havent bought any since I came home from college I may just have Home Depot do my cuts for me. I need to go and purchase a few clamps and some wood then I will be set to start on making me an enclosure. I ordered 1 of the 4 Mach 5 Audio MLI-65's that will be used in this install (wanted to check it out before I bought all four), the rest are gonna be purchased some time next week for my birthday.

I make all my RCA's. Blue for sub, yellow for front, green for rear Enclosure build for JL Audio 13W6 Minimal use of sound deadening tiles JL Audio XD600/1 mounted under driver's seat JL Audio 400/4 mounted under passenger seat

Stock sail panels 6.5's mounted with dual 0.75" mounting rings My MDF mounting rings are mechanically fastened to the stock metal door skin. I also used sound deadening material around the rings. I like to think it helps to stop rattles. I had to buy new door panels because I hacked up the originals from my previous install.

I still have a couple more pics to take but we just got dumped with +15" of fuck'n snow. So hopefully tomorrow I can update pics. Yeah I fuck'n hate snow. But it makes for nice pictures. This little lady was right outside my front door

I had started a big build last year that I had to end before it was finished. I did not have time to do all of the fiberglassing that I had planned, that's life. I had to have something installed in my car that wasn't going to take years to complete Next year I will be doing an extensive over haul of the current setup. I plan on having more time then, I hope. Some of these pics are from the previous build which I am still using part of. I have more pics to take but this is a start. Just a few snapshots of equipment I have sitting around for this build log since it will start officially tomorrow. No pictures of the car till tomorrow when it arrives, everything under the hood is new besides the engine so right now that is my focus since it has over 200,000 miles. I will replace the primary battery with a XS Power D2400 and I will put a D3100 in the trunk with the sounds. Need to find out how Im gonna go about the center console since I cant find any dash kits for the car, need to find room for either a single-din or double-din and my Audio Control Epic-160. I may take the navigation out but I dont know as of yet, we will see (I dont have the software for it so I need to go find it). Center Console Trunk
