  1. The straight answer is to measure the areas you want to cover. Length * Width = Area. If the area you measure is >50sqft, then it's not enough. If the area you measure is <50sqft, then it's enough. One of our goals here is not just to answer questions, but to offer advice for achieving goals in the most efficient and effective manor. Simple questions don't always have simple answers. Asking the right questions in response will often lead to offering suggestions to improve results. Just because you covered your truck in a layer of CLD does not mean you are going to have the results you desire.
  2. Happy Birthday little nem. Thank you, his parents took him to chucky cheese makes today.
  3. Pillars aren't perfect, but they get the job done for now. Painted black, laid down the ssa sticker (figured why not), and did a coat over. Stick bubbled out a little, oh well. Then I sanded down the entire pillar except for the logo part, and they had a matte finish, and clear finish over the sticker. After sitting in the car today, getting baked, the matte finish from sanding went away, and now it's back to all clear w/scratches from sanding. Sounds good though. Lowered the XO point between the tweet and mid, and slackened the slope.
  4. more finished install pics from NIc's ride.

I actually have my old zcon box. Since you kind of got screwed over I am willing to send it to you for the cost of shipping if it will fit.
  7. well, someone buy that amp and see what the return address is
  8. Also, the seller put his name at the bottom as: "stephen", happens to be in FL, claims he is a college student, has sold over six hundred items, most of which are wiring harnesses, speaker adapters, etc. Oh and Kevin had a blow out while ago trying to get rid of a bunch wiring harnesses, speaker adapters, etc. I have a feeling the seller has a different name in real life. Buying a product from the owner of company doesn't normally seem bad, but considering the owner seems awfully fishy about just about everything he gets his hands on.
  9. Running an additional ground for your alternator isnt going to hurt anything so if you have the extra 1/0 go for it. I would suggest a second run of positive between batteries and fuse them according to the current draw the wire is rated for. The only place you need to fuse for the amp rating is the runs to the amp. The fuses between batteries is to protect the wires and batteries. Everyone may not agree but i suggest fusing both sides between the batteries preferably as close to the batteries as possible.
  10. After getting used to hearing and KNOWING the difference it will make it hard to every go back to anything that doesn't sound that good ya know, lol. This is the kind of comment I love to see too. When a person hears and realizes the difference in what quality actually is it's one of my favorite things to see!
  11. I see you're from Somerset. I'm not too far from you..

I would not call the Z.3 an all out SPL sub. It will pound great in a daily setup too. Some guys think SPL subs sound like crap the Z.3 can sound good too. For 2k burps : SA series from Sundown. They have been proven to kill all out SPL subs. For 2K daily/burps : Z.3 from Sundown hands down. Search around. There are multiple vids of a single SA's hitting +155db. There are also vids of single Z.3's hitting over 155db and doing over 150db on music. That is the difference when choosing the driver, long term power versus burping power goals.
  13. If the driver itself is barely moving, then I wouldn't blame the vehicle characteristics yet. In a perfect situation a ported enclosure is roughly 3dB louder then sealed, but the actual alignment will vary will this number.
  14. Should paint the bracing SSA red More DBZZ
  15. Happy Birthday little nem.
  16. My little buddy turns 6 today! Next week when I have him, I just might have to take some pictures of him in the truck for the build log.
  17. subs are in and sound amazing will have pics up tomorrow. so far taking 4200 clamped at 37hrts like a champ . cant wait for a little break in time. thay sound really good. hope to have it metered by monday.
  18. When the most of the cost for the fourm/website is paid for by the ssa store, it really doesn't make sense for us to pay to provide others a place to sell things. You know, that thing called ethics.
  19. Looks like his subs got there
  20. Looks way better than your back seats did.
  21. I dont think spelling needs to be a Important part of these threads. Well you agreed to it. If someone would like an informative answer. They should have a well thought out question that is spelled correctly. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/22849-sound-solutions-audio-membership/
  22. I dont think spelling needs to be a Important part of these threads. U onet peepl to spale not more better and hav a ferom fool of trash
  23. 2kw at 4 ohm would be nice on your electrical Though there is a general correlation between efficiency and load impedance for the same amp, there's no reason to assume those amps running at 2ohm each (strapped into a 4ohm load each amplifier would be operating at 2ohm) would be any more or less efficient than another amplifier operating at a lower impedance. It depends on the design and efficiency of the amplifiers, not just the impedance of the load.
  24. I'd save the $1200, keep the JL's and put $$ into the electrical or other items that really matter rather than dumping it into a new amp you don't actually need.
  25. On..Off..or otherwise. It HAS to be set 1-2Hz below tuning. Your excursion below tuning of the port goes up exponentially as you go farther below tuning. We can play the game that Rockford plays and put really short coils in really short gaps and kill the excursion..but then the bottom end will suffer greatly. We don't want to do that. It is not difficult to read and learn from ones mistakes. It's as simple as getting a proper filter..and setting it accordingly. Reading materials that you are given in the packaging and the sticker on the outside of the box would have prevented this from happening to begin with. If you put the Rockford woofers in the same scenario as the BL ill wage one glazed doughnut that the coils melt within a week.
