  1. It's Jenn Kaenin, you can thank me later
  2. Yes the 55% is typical for most A/B amps. So its to be expected. They are using Burr Brown OPamps which is a nice feature. The 41 detent pot's aren't really to special, but the active capabilities is a nice feature. There seems to be a few companies bringing that feature to their 4 channels now days.
  3. I have been ask a few very common questions, so I figured I would just post some of them up. If you have any questions post them up. I will answer them or find the answer for you. CCA is the maximum amperes that can be continuously removed from a battery for 30 seconds at 0°F before its voltage drops to unusable levels. A 550 CCA battery can supply 550 amperes for 30 seconds at 0°F. This was important back in the days when vehicles took a long time to start. Now if you put a charge to your starter for 30 seconds it would probably burn up, and it doesn't make any difference in car audio. CCA is the same test as above but at 32°F. AMP-HOUR RATING is a unit of measurement for battery capacity, obtained by multiplying a current flow in amperes by the time in hours of discharge. (Example: A battery which delivers 5 amperes for 20 hours delivers 5 amperes times 20 hours, or 100 ampere-hours.) So, unless you are running a system that has a low amperage pull for hours this rating is useless. Deep Cycle Batteries/Cranking Batteries: Flooded batteries use the Deep Cycle info a lot and with some battery companies and types of batteries you have to buy a separate battery for starting. With XS Power our batteries can be used as starting batteries or as secondary batteries. Our batteries are engineered with advanced technology that gives the batteries the ability to be used as a starting battery and as a deep cycle battery.
  4. Just ordered FOUR!! Two in purple to make the wife and daughter happy!
  5. My boxes final exterior measurements for my Jetta box ended up being 38" wide, 12" tall, and 14" deep. Almost exactly what you are looking for. The structure of it is complete, I just need to apply the finishing touches, and get my amp wired up to see how it sounds.
  6. With the power , space and budget you have, an ssa dcon 10'' dual 4 ohm wired down to 2 ohms, ported with an enclosure built to specs would fit right into the slot, and if you can build the enclosure your self it would save you alot.

  12. Well it seems I may have to make a road trip to St. Louis Sunday after work to pick up our new monster.
  13. Just a little update here. I was playing some Yello today and doing some tweeking at my church parking lot and had some people come over and tell me that they never heard something so loud sound as clear as my truck was playing music. They did the look over and said wow those are some big speakers. I spend about 2 hours playing around and continue to be suprised at how detailed I am able to refine things. Tomorrow I hope to make a little video playing music rather than bass beating tracks to let you all experience what I do everytime I get in my truck. If you are wondering why I use my church parking lot, it is because we built a new church on a very large lot of land and I am not bothering anybody when I am there.
  14. sometimes its hard to see the future.
  15. you called it buddy! lol.. some of you may not know that steve is a contractor, making things look seemingly normal from out side.. but structurally sound behind the scene is what he does!
  16. Port tuning / length is based off port area, not shape.
  17. If you have a sub, 6x9s are a waste of money and the time it will be required to seal them off from the subwoofer. Money would be better spent increasing the front stage. If you don't have a sub, new 6x9s, 2 or 3-way, would sound better than factory speakers. The ones you linked can handle 100 watts RMS, Which normally means the 17ish watts rms your deck puts out, probably won't move them very much, but will still probably sound better than stock.
  18. oh, and dont drive it anymore ... high voltage can kill your cars computer. your head unit, and some amps
  19. I've found them to be spot on with many vehicles in our market. It's not all entertainment.
  20. I can't even keep count of how many 12W7 setups are doing 60's around here.
