  5. After looking at FI's website, it appears that they use push terminals on the SSD line. Push terminals are way too large to melt unless there is a serious problem with the amp. Those terminals can easily handle 2+kw. If I'm not mistaken they are the same on every sub up the line, and some of those are getting 3+kw daily.
  6. Yeah, don't pay too much emphasis on that spec. It's a best case scenario and hardly real world, hot, every day driving. Close, yes, but again, it's under ideal conditions.
  7. The music I am playing is a group called Yello and I don't think it is haunted house music. (older group from Germany) There is more to come these video are just practice. I don't listen to a lot of bass heavy music, but do have some. Anyone who has seen Ferris Beuller's Day Off should know Yello. Oh yeah!
  8. I think people just like making generalities. Actual research is beyond alot of people.....just lazy :-/
  9. Great you should be the first one on SSA to have a review then. How is your sub stage coming along? No stage in a sub...
  10. Wow man that looks fun as hell. It's awesome that you can feed both the SQ fanatic and Basshead side with the same setup.
  11. The voltage will drop instantly yes.. but his audio equipment should not have turned off, especially if it were at 12.1v. Sounds like the battery was undercharged because it was either low, or not enough batts in the vehicle for the setup. Anyways, the voltmeter had to be lying about realtime voltage because your amp can handle voltages well below 12.1v and the short burst current from a battery will last longer than a split second to power that amp fine... To me, sounds like you already had damaged part of the bridge rectifier and it was on it's last set of diodes (prob about 50A worth) and when you cranked a 3500w amp on a ~50A rectifier, lol, and i'm sure the rectifier is hella-hot from stressfully working all the time.. POOF
  12. I was not to allow this picture to leak out, but I think you guys can keep a secret, right?
  13. Google Torres Box Calculator.... Then download and plug in your data
  14. Assembly will be complete tonight. Should be in his Explorer slapping by Thursday at latest. Will post pics tonight also. Picking up my router and gonna flush mount the sub. I'm older, picky and slow...lol Spent 6 hours last night just doing cuts, did the 45's this morning before leaving for my office and some assembly. Gotta get his sub over here for bracing placement. It will have 1 1/8th hardwood dowels.
  15. This is the only picture I have of the dragon. As you can see it is rather large.
  16. Use the tag after uploading to a hosting site like photobucket or tinypic
  17. nice box and next time do your pics at tinypic.com
  18. Well box will be built tomorrow. Can't wait! Heres some pics to tide you over. how everything looks below the cargo floor. It's a bit messy but I had to do what i could to get this ready for the box build tomorrow. And yes i know the inputs are above the other amp. I have a rubber mat underneath them atm till something better can be thought of. Cargo floor back in waiting on the box build. Team NWSPL shirts!
  19. It's STUPID loud. SB3 world records, and KAOS which is MWSPL class.. .153 for 3 mins straight I thik was his score.
  20. Comparing outside physical characteristics of a motor is a terrible way to compare woofers. They are two completely different woofers who share the same size ferite slugs.
  21. Base for the buss bars and the d3100's Power hooked up. Grounds. After the wires for the amp are added. Everything covered up. The Alerion box back in. The zcon just chilling. the bc5500 and kenwood chilling. The dual inputs on the bc5500. 4 1/0 + and 4 1/0 - And a little vid.
  22. zcons showed up yesterday. Even corso was excited. Zcon on the left and xcon on the right. This is my tv getting messed up from over 5 feet away by the magnet from the xcon. If you look in the lower left corner you can see the green.
  23. The bc5500 Got some toolmaker dual inputs so the amp will have 4 1/0+ and 4 1/0- wires feeding it. bunch of 1/0 terminals i got on sale from parts express 3 xs d3100's!!! First one is just the xs batts, the second is with the 2 optima's added. Will only run the optimas if needed. Zcon's will be here tomorrow but waiting on wire to show up so prolly won't be in till next week.
  24. After I first got the headliner off. My great stuff and SDS CLD tiles. After the great stuff. Did clean it up a little bit. After the cld tiles went up. Acoustica Mat up. So since I didn't have the time to put the subs back in it was hard to judge how well this was working....but I did the next best thing I could think of. Took it to the carwash. Now if anyones ridden in a scion they know that when it rains it just sounds like a sheet metal getting hit with rain. Very loud and annoying. Well when I went through the car wash I couldnt even tell the water was hitting it. Was like a mild low note if that makes sense. So I can't wait to see how it handles the zcons.
  25. Doors had some stock "deadener" much like the cld tiles. I just added to it and around it. Getting ready to cut the mlv....of course Corso had to help me. MLV with the CCF attached. Both doors done..... Well I thought they were done. Seems I should have listened to the instructions better and done it outside on the door itself. But 30 degrees was not fun. And I learned my mistake when putting the mlv/ccf back on the door and trying to get the door panel on and it didn't work out. The IA comps in the door. I ended up having to move the xovers because there was no room behind the door panel. The MLV/CCF on the doors. As you can see I ended up trimming quite a bit to make it fit. But I believe all of the necessary parts were covered. The IA tweets sitting in the corner of the doors. Didn't know scion used pioneer comps as stock speakers....thought you had to get the upgrade. One of the reasons I love this car. That is 2/0 welding cable sitting pretty in the stock wire clips. Drivers side with the rca's. Gonna have to figure out where to run the welding cable for the ground. Got this the other day! Getting ready to go in. Setting up the kenwood deck for the IA comps. Don't worry about the situation with it. Just putting it in to check out the comps Action shot of the 800prs, showing off the idle voltage.
  26. Comparing stock on the right and The IA tweet on the left. stock on the right again and the IA tweet on the left. Got the door panels off and will get the sds in tomorrow on the doors and roof and get the comps in and set. I was told My build log would get more views if i took pics of my kittens. I don't have kittens so you get pics of my dog corso. He's a 2.5 year old rednose pitbull and this was him attempting to help my mother and I paint one day.
  27. Birthsheet = retarded They are unrealistic.
