  1. Consdiering a 20 dollar hunk of neo previously is now 114 dollars..I wouldn't be bitching if I were you. It's still cheaper then anybody else on the market, you can go pay 1800 dollars for a Z series woofer if you would like...that's known as raping the consumer. The price is only adjusted to the cost of materials going up..which EVERYTHING has gone up. We ate it for quite some time while I was there and the reason was waiting until the SP4 and Team versions of the subs were available, or near available. If you don't like it..it's as simple as not buying it. Go pay 1800 dollars for the Z series woofer or 1000-1200 dollars for the DC neo woofer. (and no, i don't work there any longer)
  2. Here is nice update. Forced my self up early to squeeze in some time on my car. Heres what I have done on my kick pods. Here is the passanger side before I trimmed the fiberglass. dont mind the dash alot of things are pulled apart in the interior for the rewire. My trim line After getting it trimmed up An idea for what it will look like I was in a rush my girlfriend had to go to work so I skipped the pic of the metal straps for angle adjustment. Here it is dowweled up Driver side trimmed As you can see it will be a tight squeeze with my clutch foot. I have realized I point my foot outward so It shouldnt be too much of a problem. was out later on and saw this in the restroom. WTF! Still stuff stuck to the back. Oh well. You can see where I couldnt work out one of the wrinkles. I will smooth it out later. Stretched this one tighter using staples as well as hot glue Ignore the crock pot next to it lol. Here is both pods ready for more glass. Storm rolled in so I snapped a pic of the view from my balcony! Driver side test fit Pass side resined Glassed Final product. Need minimal clean up. They will be wrapped in black carpet to keeep a stock look so not too worried about the small inperfections, however they are relativly smooth as they sit. Time to work on the Doors!!! Stay tunned for them next week. Feel free to comment as I will be doing more fiberglass work to the doors and will need it. This is the first time I have done this the previos fiberglassing was done by my older brother. Enjoy.
  3. Also, To the "You need to sell at OEM prices" argument. Absolutely not. OEM work does not involve anywhere near as much work as the Fi product line does. OEM clients buy hundreds of speakers at a time and they are all the same which makes it easy to build and do. Margins are VERY VERY VERY slim doing OEM work in the USA so you have to sell hundreds and hundreds of them in order to make a dollar.. I don't know about you, but I don't think you would like to bust your ass for 10 hours a day and walk home with 50 bucks in your pocket. That doesn't exactly pay the bills and earn you a living.
  4. I'm digging the white. Battery box is simple, I like it.
  5. So you didn't say: I'm definitely not someone who starts shit on here, but I don't like being called out either. If you weren't trying to say...."same build house, same quality" then what did that statement mean? Emotionally he meant what he said then when reasoning and logic kicked in he came to. reality. My comment got to him thinking i said atomic amps are bad quality when i was speaking in general about different brand amps coming from the same build house. Some people are defensive for no reason So you can read minds lol? the implication of your comment seemed obvious and others agreed. Its seems as if you're crawfishing now... Can you tell me what is exactly different about the old SAZ3000 and AT3000? Other than what's scribed into the cases? Probably not. Not trying to be a dick. What I was getting at is the fact the same people make these amps. The small components could very, but the craftsmanship will remain the same. The reason my amp most likely failed was due to the fact it never received the upgrades other AT3000's received. the SAZ3000's had the same issues.... Also, when you blow subs up, it causes damage to the amplifiers and if you looked through my pics in this build you can clearly see where one coil pretty much blew up. To cause that kind of damage to coil, you'll most likely damage the amps. The amp was fixed in less than 30 minutes according to the guy who bought it. Also take into consideration that amp was made in 06. And cheezy, you of all people have no room to comment of the quality of anyone's amplifiers.... Since yours is still being repaired or whatever the deal is. I don't go on to anyone's build and put down their gear in a serious manner. I see a trend with of few of guys on here and its quite funny. The box is done for now(stovebolt busted his ass on this), and for the two people who don't hate my gear, here's a pic
  6. Current project: I will glass from the inside, in order to cut sanding to a minimum.
  7. Make her a card with construction paper and macaroni?
  8. Threadstarter cracks me up. Cost to build a subwoofer: $100 The price the thread starter wants to pay for that subwoofer: $80 Makes no sense?
  9. First off...you seem like a genuine Fi fan, which is cool, but at the same time you seem like you REALLY don't like Fi. Which is it? I've never seen either Nick or Scott boast their product over another company's product unless directly asked "which subwoofer is better" in which case they reply with the FEATURES of their sub, not downtalking the other sub. I'm not sure why you think that the guys at Fi think they're better than anyone else. Secondly...the price of neo has more than MULTIPLIED BY FIVE, and you're complaining cuz the price ALMOST doubled? Are you serious? They're making less and less money off of each sub and you're upset? I ask you this question, as a serious question.? What do you want them to do? Make less and less money until they go out of business? Just so you can feel better? Look around bro...look at DD prices, look at DC prices. Not Team prices either, because you're not looking at the Team price for the N3. If you feel that Fi is trying to steal from you then just buy a sub from a different company and be happy. EDIT: And if you think people are getting rich off of building subwoofers.....then nothing we say will change your mind.
  10. Have both of your knees rebuilt and then see what you think about squats.
  11. You should try "Eye of the Hawk" by Mendocino Brewing. I'll look into it, thanks!
  12. It's in reference to yesterday's election. North Carolina: Where straight people to get to marry their first cousins and gays cannot marry at all. Makes sense...

Been another 4 weeks since my latest line of BS/excuses. Robbie won't return a phone call or email. I've asked for my $$$ back several times. Beyond sick of this joke of a company. Team mate ordered 2 390's 3 weeks ago and got them today. Why can't I get mine. DC = doesn't come Sucks they have the best alts out, but their CS is non existant. I can only imagine if 1 of the 2 I have ever fails.
  14. nope my statement stands....
  15. Looking good man! Get that amp in and take some videos.
  16. I hope you plan on using more then 2 runs of 8awg. lol
  17. i build my own box for my 2 12" zcons. 5.9cubes gross and tuned at 26hz. gets nastyy lowww. i did a 146.7@26hz thats with 2 audioque 2200's. not strapped running 1ohm per sub.
  18. back cover painted: painted batt box didnt get a pic with the front side on: batt box screwed down: new top... not painted or mounted yet:
  19. I think Sailor Jerry just kicked my ass!
  20. 3 more sq of siding and 3 garage doors and I will be done!
  21. I have multiple jobs and i already only get 3-4hrs sleep per night, only get full sleep during weekend so i'm doing the best i can. Besides that.. like i tell other people.. this isn't a NORMAL build... It's imperative that everything is precisely cut, tested, tweaked, etc before installing... Must use the least weight but the most bracing to counter flex issues... Many things i take pics of takes lots of planning just to get there.. When the entire build is done, i will have only 0.25" of room from floor to top of hatch door before the frame of the car grounds out all my fuse blocks.. That's not safe so i gotta build or do something to prevent that. The baffle has only 3/16" of vertical play and the baffle has multiple variable heights in it when it's time to put it in so everything has to be cut perfect. If the baffle fails, so does the mounting of all planned subs.. and the roof is a key piece to getting the baffle to fit properly.. the roof is coming next to build and work on.. I have already went through 1 gal of resinhardener just for bonding.. there is a lot that you do not see.. in person.. the panels are ROCK solid... Even those that are not fully attached on all 4 sides There is lots of bracing that was done long ago when this build started several months ago.
  22. Damn. Hard life.
  23. Did it tear or come loose? Reason I ask is that it's unusual for the higher end JL subs to fail without some type of user error. Trying to eliminate any potential user error issues before you throw something else in there just to shred it as well.
  24. Phade's 2 DP 21's http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/30983-2-21-dp-build-log/page__st__15
  25. Good job on building the enclosure. Install the amplifier you have, it will work just fine with those SA's. If you absolutely feel like you need/want a new amp, what is your budget?

Would love to meter it but don't have one remotely close. It might be time to purchase a spl lab meter. Yes I will be at slamology! That is a must.
