SSA Basstro van a few bail out vids
1 point
- ssa made my day!
1 pointthanks to ssa, i am now going to sell the line in my shop. i am so excited to have the best subwoofers that wont be available in my area and i wont have to worry about all of those discount malls and flea markets as well. for a long time i have been competing with those places and could barely make some dough with subs, because everyone whored the lines out! thanks to ssa i will now have the best subs around available to my customers who want better equiptment than a kicker cvr. AND THE BEST PART OF ALL IS NO COMPETITION FROM ANYONE IN MY AREA! chicago is gonna know the name ssa when im done hooking up my customers rides! thanks aaron and mark as well as the builders and family of ssa.1 point- OLD SCHOOL US AMPS
1 pointThat is alot of cheating lol... Here are the specs of the old Soundstream Lil Wonder (last page) The little wonder was not a cheater amp though, it was a marketing gimmick that was massively successful. I know. This thread make me think of it though. IIRC Soundstream did it in part to poke fun at the cheater amps that were around at the time. Not many cheater style amps around now since there's really not much point. Zuki is the only one to really come to mind, and he doesn't have much point behind doing it other than marketing. USACi still uses power classes and there are still several amps that are "cheater" style, but nothing like there used to be. The last one I can think of was the Atomic amps that placed larger power amps in smaller chassis for their competitors. Also the Clif Designs CDX-20A.1 point- A Suburban A Warhorse and a Pair of SMDeez
1 point- OLD SCHOOL US AMPS
1 pointThat was common back then. Similar to Orion and the HCCA line as well as many other companies. While some still exist, it is much less prevalent now then it used to be.1 point- OLD SCHOOL US AMPS

1 point1 point- Diamond d9 and Xcon 12
1 pointThe Xcon's will surely be accurate in the proper enclosure with proper amplifier settings. Out put should be no worry with a pair of Xcon 12's.1 point- For The Love of DubStep
1 point1 point- Hey there
1 pointWelcome to the forums, thanks for picking the Icon. For an automotive install, to properly do a Transmission line, it would be a massive enclosure. The suggested sealed and ported enclosures work very well for the Icon.1 point- Is there a difference in output between 400-1000 watts?
Perhaps my logic at statement eluded you. It was a rhetorical question meant to make you think, not respond.1 point- streetSPL,6/10/12, San Antonio,TX
1 point- importance of smoothness
1 pointActually, a slightly rougher surface may/will promote better airflow than a smooth one. This can be a missconception... B&W starting working with this principle with thier cabinet vents a few decades ago. It works well for them and has been adopted by several other manufacturers...1 point- ShiZZZoN's Build #2 The Epicness of 2011-2024

The thing that bothers me the most is that nodoby knew anything untill he didnt show up today. people started looking into his where about and someone found out about the accident. it was posted on facebook right away. His damn family, his own son, his folks, found out he died on facebook. MAJOR FUCKED UP. seeing his teenage boy begging his dad to call him on facebook about killed me. we were not best homies but im real sad for his family.1 point- SSA's Evil SS Camaro. 4 Evil 15s and 2 DC 7.5ks

Three first places. its a little bittersweet. This show, a year ago was my first ever. i really would have liked to do better but the SPL gods were not with me. Also found out at the show today that a good buddy that i compete with often died on monday. Cool cat. competed in iasca for a long time in the 90's and 00's. been competing since then in usaci here in houston. and of course my lil homie1 point- One of our client's cars.
1 pointLooks good but rims are ugly as fuck IMO but nice as always Dustin!1 point- Welcome to the IHoP

1 pointBox from a couple of pages back, now with painted trim rings and installed: Next up is a trim piece over the amp and 2 trim pieces to conect the ports to the sides. Pedobear rims: And the only way of keeping cars acceptably cool on a 90* day: You can see the Jeep in the background and 2 of the cars I've worked on in the foreground, all with tin-foil. The ugly duckling:1 point- Brutus BRZ2400.1D or Soundstream RUB1.2500D
Why not spend more money on a smaller more quality amp? Woofers can't do anything with 2,400+w of dirty power.....1 point- Welcome to the IHoP

1 pointOverheard in Best Buy car audio section today: #1: No, I'm going to get some huge speaker [makes huge circle with his arms], probably 2000 watts. Something like that [points to the low end 12" Polk sub in display] #2: Yeah, that'd probably like blow out your windows or something. #1: Probably, I'll probably just do fiberglass instead (I'm assuming he meant Plexiglas) #2: Yeah, you'll have to! Me: as I walk away1 point- Welcome to the IHoP
1 point1 point- A Mini RE Audio XXX 15 Review
1 pointThat's actually a 2nd gen. The first gen had XXX on the cone, a boob cap, and different motor.1 point- Is there a difference in output between 400-1000 watts?
While your comparison was generally useless for the conclusions you were trying to draw from it (that a 400w amp sounds like a 1kw amp), you're actually not very far off from the truth. Which is that it takes very dramatic increases in power to make any really significant differences in output. As you can figure out from the formula stephan posted earlier, if you double the power output increases by a maximum of 3db. So even if we assume zero power compression, the difference in output between 500w and 1kw would be audible but not substantially so. If we factor in some amount of power compression, the difference could be anywhere from still audible to not audible at all. So it's entirely possible to save money, buy a 500w amp instead of a 1kw and end up just as happy with minimal audible difference in output.1 point- Funky Pups in Dade City, FL
1 pointLOL....Exactly what I was thinking. Weren't they like $60 for a "6-pack" ? Aaron, I think you guys need to come out with an FPcon in honor of the Funky Pup. Would be a great addition to the SSA lineup I will put in a call to Krypton to see if they have any spider packs and surrounds left. There was rumors that before the Death Star was destroyed, that some special cones were jettisoned off into space for fear of the attack. Supposedly, Ray Liotta can get a hold of some nasty voice coils. That would leave only the unobtanium motor structure, last I saw, the Navi were pretty pissed when humans tried to take their rare metals. Just saying. LOL....that was extremely random and amazingly well organized for being spur of the moment.1 point- Audio technix deadener.....
1 pointI'm pretty sure Audiofanaticz or whatever his name is on S.M.D. deleted my thread. He got extremely defensive and tried to make me out to be a liar. Only posting certain pictures from my photobucket in which no deadener was visible on the bottom of the rear deck. Those pics where taken shortly after I blew up my diamonds, pulled everything out of the trunk including the deadener on the bottom of the deck. Its extremely time consuming, but its part of my madness. I told SS jon partially about my stress tests between damp pro and roadkill expert. I never divulged any full details as they were for my one satisfaction. No homo. This was also the reason why I did not post anything about the wire. On top of everything I was offered team pricing on all AT gear so I was trying to be respectful and meeting him in person. So I had no motivation to post negative results about AT deadener other than to be honest. Other people posted in that about the AT being sub par and were quickly shut down. All this being said, he did send an email saying he would refund double my money if I returned the product and it tested faulty. Funny thing is, I never received this email. He did post a screen shot showing it was sent, but I did not get it. If I would have gotten this email, I would have agreed to it most likely. Even though there's no way to prove he would be honest about his findings. I then posted screen shots of my phone in the emails, and he made a smartass remark about they can be deleted. After I apologized for there being a break down in communication which was not my fault. I would have agreed to sending it back for testing if he didn't make a smart ass remark. I will do more testing with the product. Its entirely possible that the small portion I used was faulty, as there is one small piece still sticking. As for the "air" pockets, it looks like that from the deadener pulling off the metal. On top of all this. I've dynamat extreme on my trunk lid for over 4yrs. I've yet have any deadener fail like this. Sorry for everything being so mixed up, but its a lot to try and cover. By no means am I saying all AT deadener is junk. Maybe I just got unlucky1 point- Audio technix deadener.....
1 pointIt's actually worse (and funnier) than that. It started with the soda can tests which proclaimed SDS the winner! He actually left that video on Youtube for something like a year. I was still getting queries up until a few moths ago from people wh saw the video. While he was gathering samples for the soda can testing, he got hooked up wth AudioWrap someow and was spamming their product. Soon after that he decided to launch his own product and started spaming forums again. Somebody from one of these forums e-mailed me to ask if I knew who cthedinger was. He told me the forum members had backed him into a corner by asking him to explain how vibration dampers work. About two minutes later I get an e-mail that starts: "Hey Don. I was just thinking about things. Can you explain to me how vibration dampers work - strictly for my own education"? No joke.1 point- Audio technix deadener.....
1 pointI think the one on smd got deleted because it turned into a bitchfest about kyle's install methods. At least thats the last I saw of it. Also sds ftw. Mines still doing great.1 point- Audio technix deadener.....
1 pointIt was posted on SMD and quickly deleted. Humm. We've seen this song and dance before with other companies.1 point- Audio technix deadener.....
1 pointNice to see the truth will always prevail on SSA! Guess that is why almost all of us are here, covering shit up to help others is wrong!1 point- Audio technix deadener.....
