SSA XCON 10" D2
2 pointsThey sound even better than they look. No room to port both and retain the space I need for work items. How interested are you? I am sure we can work something out Steve. I think he's loaded. Na. I just save my allowance till I can afford things.2 points

Apology
1 pointI want to apologize to any of you who have tried to help me or if i offended any of you in anyway. I hate being wrong and was being bone headed because of it. Could you guys forgive me? I realize you guys know infinitely more about this kind of stuff than I do and instead of arguing with you guys I need to listen and learn so someday i can be in your shoes. so once again i'm sorry guys1 point

Time to change my setup
1 pointWhy do you say the way its looking on this forum you may be wrong? More cone area and motor force i feel wins the battle any day of the week. Mind you with gobs of power that can be overcome but then you run into way to many variables. Honestly save your money and do it right the first time around. Took me awhile to build and buy all my stuff but im glad i did. No better accomplishment than seeing 8 12s sitting behind me causing mass destruction haha.1 point

2 12's or 1 15?
1 pointSo what exactly do you have? One thread you said you have SA subs and this one L7's and one a Hifonics amp, this one a planet audio and in your profile you say something else? Do you actually have anything, Pics of system or pics of both systems?1 point

zcon recone
1 pointA month is typical... When all parts are on hand. Thing happen bud. I had to wait too. I compete on a large level and know the timeline sucks sometimes but you just gotta be patient.1 point

zcon recone
1 pointI've never seen so much complaining about a recone. You didn't buy from a crappy seller or member with a bad rep. You ordered from a A+ company. The item was delayed, not because they are trying to rip you off or because they don't care about your order. Just sit on your hands and for your turn at the build house like all the rest of us did.1 point

08 Ford Edge. First build log.
1 pointNice progress! For future try and tape up any edges you intend to glue. I learned that the hard way. I can't tell if you have all of it taped or not so be sure you sand it down before gluing. Good luck tomorrow. Wisdom teeth suck.1 point

Big 3 Question
1 pointDepends on your competence with terminating connections, zip ties, and insurance. There is only one reason that fuses exist and if you leave it to chance and push the percentages well then you've made your choice.1 point

One SA-12 box build help
1 pointI've built 3 different boxes and by far my favorite was 2 cubes tuned at 35hz. I vote for a slot port. Much easier to get the tuning and port area you need. Not familiar with your car but sealed off from the trunk would be another option.1 point

1 pointThat just proves why we are the worst country. People are so fucking stupid that they compare a soccer competition to thousands of lost lives. America, land of the enslaved, and home of the refuckingtarded.1 point- Apology
1 pointIm not sure how you come up with: "seeing other sa15s slam the lows." You don't see sound. Youtube videos don't mean shit. Lows is relative. Im not sure that that skars amp would be an upgrade to what you already have. I also wouldn't bank too much on increasing output by means of a bigger amp, not to say a bigger amp wont help, but don't be dissapointed if you almost double the "rms power" from one amp to another, and you barely notice a difference. Im not home, so I can't model anything, but your Probably looking around 80in^2 of port area.1 point- Welcome to the IHoP

1 pointIs what I've had my eye on for the past 7 months. 24x10. I'm not exactly sure yet, adding big rims will only add the "steal me" factor which I'm trying to avoid until I get my own garage. I need new tires bad right now though, starting to get bald1 point- zcon recone
1 point- Stetsom amp repair
1 pointI was referring to the shop that was listed. Color Creations is about 10 min down the road from us. As for the amp, I would send it where ever you feel the most comfortable. Depending on the size and such, the best bet with Brazilian amps to get them working and then to unload them.1 point- Welcome to the IHoP
1 pointYea it is a matter of honesty. Just a run down of a previous issue. My 4runner was in for a heater control issue, they fixed it great, BUT when they were backing it off the lift they cut one of the rear tires. They did replace it with a brand new tire, great. Problem was when I called them ofter I saw the new tire to ask them, I was told what happened and they replaced it and they figured I would have never noticed and that is why it was not on the sheet I received. That is one of those grey areas. I know what you mean about honesty, but sometimes it can bite us in the ass. I'll give you a real world example. As the shop foreman I recieve an hourly rate and a bonus schedule based on cars out and customer satisfaction surveys. I am bonused on these surveys at 93%, 97% and 100% positive, and the difference in bonuses is pretty significant. My service writer and manager are also bonused similarly. Survey calls are random and varied... from 20 to 50 calls a month, so each call is HUGE. One month we were running smooth with 100% CSS and we did a simple oil change on a car. 3 days later the lady came back and said her car sounded like a race car. So we pulled it in and it was loud as hell. Apparently the tech left the oil cap loose and it came off. It was loud, and had sprayed ~1/2 quart of oil around under the hood. We cleaned it up, put on a new oil cap, bought the lady some Bajangles breakfast, washed her car, and decided to be honest with her rather than bullshit her. Guess who dinged us on a survey? Guess who cost me $500 in bonus? We could have hidden the whole deal and said she had run over a plastic bag or something, but we chose to be honest. So I hate to say this, but when we deal with customers we tend wo weigh how we are going to deal with them. Generally if it is a drivability customer I will interview them, so the service writer and myself both get an idea of the type of person we are dealing with. First time customers will meet the service manager and service writer, and they will get an idea of who we are dealing with. But we develop an individual plan of how we deal with each customer based on our interactions. Some people will never be happy no matter how honest you are with them. Those are the people you leave in the dark as much as possible1 point- Big 3 Question
1 pointmaybe was just a shitty connection and he couldn't get it off like you normally would... or he fcked it up and needed something to remove his fck up???? MAYBE???1 point- Big 3 Question
1 point1 point- Swift's 2 18in FI SP4s in 07 F250 HD
Lol Swift, when I got in my truck, and you started to leave, it was making shit rattle in my shit lol!1 point- Swift's 2 18in FI SP4s in 07 F250 HD
Well, the Sp4's are just plain brutal!!! The enclosure seems perfect for them at 14cu tuned at 31hz. I still need to get my mids and highs in, running the head unit on standard mode with the rockford components with one blown tweeter just to make sure everything was hooked up correctly. Sounds like ass. Gonna try to get the doors done this weekend. Gonna run active 2 way with the 8's and FT1 super tweeters, after listening to them eq'd sitting on my dash I can live with it.1 point- Adjusting box size to amount of power
The RMS rating has nothing whatsover to do with how much the sub needs or how much output it will have. The only, and I mean the only thing, the RMS rating tells you is how much power a subwoofer can take on a continuos basis. It tells you absolutelu nothing else... You need to model to see what enclosure size will optimize your power you already have, if you want to look at it that way. But that is kind of backwards. You should always model for the the most efficient enclsoure you can build (size wise) with the response you desire. Power should be the last thing you decide. If you do it the other way around, you are going about it the wrong way...1 point- Batteries or another alt problem?
OK, Looks like it was the batteries. Truck sits back at 13.8-14.1 at idle like it should now. I am super glad its not the alt but now I have to go spend yet more money on another 1 or 2 batteries for the rear. Thats very strange because both Optimas were sitting at 12.65 still this morning. I hate that I jumped the gun and was thinking it was the alt. But after all the trouble I have been through I just figured that would be my luck. Thanks for the help!1 point- Batteries or another alt problem?
Possibly your Pcm is limiting your voltage and not allowing you to charge higher, an ext. regulated alt might fix your problem --its did for me. You also might need a smaller pulley if possible. But you may have to get a smaller belt size1 point- making a sub encloser for my computer.
Or you could use a sealed enclosure for more even sound so you can tell better the output up sub freq ranges... But I use my headphones more than anything nowadays1 point - Welcome to the IHoP
