Navid's Expo demoing yesterday at a competition in South Florida. 10 15" Crossfire XS V2 on 4 Crescendo Audio BC5500D. Mids and Highs are the PWX on the Concerto Series amplifiers, it was loud and clean. The bass choked me out a little bit. Enjoy and let me know what you think.

No he is not making assumptions, Steve himself stated those amps only put out 45 watts. The man who built them spoke on the issue on multiple forums as well. This ^^^^ . I have used a bunch of these old Boss branded Zed amps in my own and in friend's cars. Stephen was very honest about actual output and I think was rather perturbed about Boss insisting on over-rating everything. ALL his amps prior to that had always been conservatively rated.

It doesn't mater if their dcons or not, any sub can take more than rms within reason as long as the user isn't a idiot. It also doens't mater if it was 1500w, the install I did with dcons was too on a ap1500 and only 2 12" dcons in a trunk and "looked" more violent then yours. Not that means anything, but just saying. Looking at all the comments that 16k has made in this thread, their all compliments, every single one of them. It seems like your the one being the douche. All Tim did was give you his opinion, and that was it. Your the one who replied with a smart ass remark. Never once did you say thank you to 16k in this build, not once, not that you have to, but shows your character. If he's such a douche, and always leaves smart ass remarks, then why has he been complimenting your build this whole time? I would dare say that you don't even deserve them. After 13 pages, why do I only see two hand fulls of actuall build productivity. Never once did I see 4 15s walled in your vehicle either, although the tittle of your thread suggests so. 1. Pretty sure he doesn't care about that, 2. That's a worst case scenario and pretty sure he won't have to worry about that either.

Why would you play with the car on? Increased unnecessary wear on the engine, releasing more hydrocarbons into the air, wasting fuel, etc. . .

My sister has a 12" DCON in a 2.25cuft ported enclosure tuned to 33hz on a Cadence F100.5 5 channel amplifier that's running PG RSD 6.5" components in her front doors and JBL coax's in the rear doors. Impious is right, an amp like that does limit your upgradeability in the future, but in the same respect all the reasons you listed are the reasons a person would look at an amp like that in the first place. My sister's Durango sounds absolutely amazing, the output of that DCON in that enclosure and on that amp is seriously enough to have anyone who's looking for a serious daily listener quite happy. I've said it before and I'll say it again the sound and output of that single 12" DCON would be enough to make me happy and is quite comparable to the sound and output of my pair of 12" Q's on a Sundown 2k. Obviously the Q's will get a little louder, and the impact from them is much more intense, but if I were looking to buy equipment and didn't know anything about what my Q's can do I could have saved myself a considerable amount of money getting something like a pair of DCON's and a smaller amp and calling it a day. In my very honest opinion they're that good of a sub. Saving time, money and saving yourself some install time as well going with something like a 3 or 5 channel amp is not a bad idea if you're not one who is always buying and trying out new equipment. If you're wanting to make this purchase once and intend on it lasting awhile then I don't think it's a bad idea as long as the power of those amps meet your output goals.

Nothing wrong with a 3- or 5-channel amp if it meets your requirements. IMO it limits future upgrades, but that may or may not be an issue for you. The SSD and Dcon are simply different subs. The SSD doesn't "require" more power, but is capable of handling more power. The SSD has a slightly larger coil and is capable of a little more output at the expense of higher cost. For a budget minded sub I don't think you'll be disappointed with the Dcon though.

i have used them on their konfused battery terminals. DO NOT GET THOSE! The terminal itself is too large to properly secure around standard SAE battery posts.. therefore they NEVER lock down. I know this from experience.. and no not just from one, i went through 3 of them. As for the compression fittings, they are a bitch! The wire has to be exactly a certain length which is exactly not that long. Once you get the correct length.. then the problems start... Because the wire can't be that long to bend over, the cable itself likes to fall back into the hole because the wire wrapped on the outside isn't long enough to stay steady... Try holding some 1/0 steady and slightly pulled back AND tighten it down with a wrench about 20 turns before it's tight.. The cable can come loose at any time during those turns.. I hated it. I also hate jamming wire into a hole held by a screw too.. That's why i use ring terminals on everything. My personal reason is the wire can and will fray out of the hole over time. Ring terminals obviously wont do that and will not come loose either because of a strong fastener.

Try it. It'll tell you when it's about to blow up. It'll be extremely hot, sound like ass, stink like burning plastic, and smoke. So if you notice any of those then turn the volume down.

Such a waste, but try it. That's the beauty of the hobby. If you want to do it, do it. If you like it, cool! If not, chalk it up to experience.

I wouldn't add another battery without replacing your yellow top first. A bad battery will kill a new battery.
