  1. I think he needs sent a couple more for the space he used to make this thread!
  2. SSA subs are not sitting on selfs waiting for orders..... they are hand crafted to order, so it takes a longer then the crap compaies that order in bulk from china, you cant rush perfection.... and SSA offers a super sub for a super cheap price...... the trade off is that the build house tries to keep low over head .. Ie, a small staff.... so just be understanding, and wait for a bad ass american made sub.... they send a tracking number right away, letting you know your order has been prossesed and its in line to be built. and when its on the way you can track it to your door step.. but just because you have the trackig number does not mean its ready to be shipped. good luck and you will be happy with the sub you have picked!
  3. It's something you subscribed too. Quit bitching and just unsubscribe. Is it really that big of a deal you need to start a thread and try to put them in blast?
  4. popem in crank it up.. and enjoy is my advice. the hard spidered subs normaly need a little break in time the dcon should be fine
  5. Hey all, New here, but not to forums. Found this site through CarAudio/DIYMA or something. I have limited knowledge of car audio stuff, I haven't installed or had anything nice to listen to for 10 years now. Truck is an '07 Ram Mega Cab, so I have ample space behind the rear seats. So far I have: Pioneer AVIC-Z120BT Focal 165 V30 JBL GTO 1004 (on the way, $100 recent Best Buy sale) Have my wiring (AudioTechnix 1/0 OFC), need terminals/distro blocks/etc. AudioTechnix 80mil sound deadener Currently I'm reading about and researching subs/amps, and whether I want Luxury Liner Pro, or SDS CCF + MLV for the last pieces of the puzzle. I read rules 14-18, so I will not use SPL/SQ/"""SQL"""/daily to describe my use! I will just call it a non-competition truck that I want to sound great, and get the best value for my money. I'm not aiming to get loud at a certain frequency, nor am I looking to completely accurately reproduce the audio as it was recorded. Just clear and hard hitting. I've spoken with pro-rabbit (Dustin/DC Creations) a bit about doing my enclosure. When I get out there and get exact measurements, we should be able to get a better idea of exactly what direction we can go in. Initial measurements give me about 4.5 ft^3 to play with. I realize this isn't a ton of info, but I want to do some more reading first before I ask stupid questions.
  6. 15H X 32W X 25D Double baffled with a 13.5H X 4W X 24L port is ~4 cubic feet tuned to 34hz after you add a little bracing.
  7. I love my 8 XCON 10's

It makes sound, specifically bass. There, that should save you a few bucks. JL equipment is always high quality, well designed/constructed units that perform towards the top of their respective categories. They are expensive, but they are also one of the most innovative companies in car audio.....constantly improving their products with real, substantive innovations and not goofy things like gigantic oversized surrounds.
  9. NEM told me about you guys!
  10. I used their optimal ported enclosure specs for my ICON 10 and am very pleased.
  11. Have you looked at the pre-designed enclosures? if not take a look it would give you some ideas, also, there is a dual ported box for the icons. http://soundsolutionsaudio.com/index.php/product-information/icon.html
  12. We send one blast per day during black friday time. Sorry for the trouble.

I don't have any experience diying home audio, but I do have a logitech surround sound system that cost like >$150 two years ago and it is damn loud. Like almost as loud as my dad's guitar speaker stack. Granted the sub is tiny and if I could figure out a way to replace the sub I would be more than happy with the system.
  15. I love the manufacturers for their ingeniuty and marketing ploys, but what they don't tell you is the power they save is pretty much offset by the increased weight they added effectively negating any gain in efficiency, power, or if you want to go that far, longevity. An alt is cheap and simple to replace. Regerative and Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems are bulky, heavy, unproven, and more money.
  16. hope no one laughs at me but here is what i did. i just cut some peal and seal and just built it up, water doesn't get in either. i tried foam but didn't help.
  17. No need to get upset, just delete it. SSA is like crack, you start to fiend it. Make you want to sell a t.v. or vcr for that bass.
  18. What up Joey! -Chuck

  21. Ordered the 6.5" IA Coax pair for my brother for Xmas! Great deals, guys!
  22. I hate them. The wiring for the subs was ridiculous.
  23. They don't have internal fuses. You need to make roughly 20KW to feed four of those amps at full tilt. That would be about 1500 amps maximum draw on a 12V system. So you need the battery capacity and a way to charge them. This will be expensive....
  24. Welcome! Im fairly new here as well and must say that i have received nothing but good, friendly information on this forum. I think that as long as you do some research before asking questions and respect others opinions you'll be fine! thats what i've tried to do, and its worked out pretty well so far haha

DCON's don't need much power to get going, so your amp should work just fine. Welcome to SSA from the U.S.A.

If you want any semblance of sound quality then ditch the Crescendo gear. Next comes down to install location, limitations budget, depth, size, etc. For some reason there is a big trend in Florida to use super-tweeters. Perhaps one ignorant person did it, and the rest followed suit.
  27. You can DL them from youtube in MP3 format using an online converter flvto.com
  28. Highs are for your front speakers.
  29. no flood control is because you dont have a chump for an admin <{POST_SNAPBACK}> muwhahhahahah. That means so much on so many levels... I think the mod staff around here is tops! Even though I'm prolly the only NON-Mod.
