  1. Strictly burp box, Huge port, huge box. Lots of testing This is my setup, currently at 151.4dB on the dash with a UFO BTL 12, on a DD Z1 with 2 modest batteries (drops to 10v on burps). I don't care what anyone says that small boxes can be better. Bull...this is doing the same score as the system which inspired me...but on half the power. Guess why?
  2. Wassup guys, I'm going to be walling my truck!!!! I have 2 18in Aq hdc3's!!! I currently have 1 crescendo bc2000d but will be adding 1 more when I get the spare cash. So now some pics!!! My hdcs son!!!! Some of you may have seen the bass knob and switch cluster I made but here it is I'm adding to my other run of 1/0 gauge More pics later!!!
  3. testing the flex on the shitbox Now thats some wheel travel concidering the rear tires are usually tucked
  4. The largest semi-Anechoic chamber in the world is at a division of Cummins in a suburb of Minneapolis. You can use the room to measure down to about 30Hz. The room is long enough to park a semi in and has acoustic wedges that are around 8' long. There is also a false wall and bass trap behind them that is even bigger. I haven't been in the room in at least 9 months and didn't actually ask the size, just going from memory. Hopefully that explains the "marshmallow" comment a bit better. Dash mats can help with high frequency reflections but are really rather horseshit as an absorption material.
  5. When you tune by ear, what do you think the resultant curve looks like? If your ear is trained and you desire a "flat" sounding response it will indeed measure non-flat as your ear has differing sensitivities to frequencies. Do note that it also changes with level so choosing the level you listen to when gain setting is important. In particular if there is a noise floor that you must get beyond. When you aren't at least 10dB over the noise you will get frequency and loudness masking. So again, another great reason to use your ear.
  6. Induction should be slightly better with this coil.
  7. it is possible I hit 149db with a single Orion HCCA 12" woofer with a Crown A3000gti amp in a chevy x cab....if we had a hatchback I bet we could have added 3db take in mind there were 2 alternators and 4 batteries as well as weeks worth of tuning and moving the box around.....(it was a 44hz burp box) the vehicle also needs to be properly sound deadened
  8. and maybe a sub better built towards spl
  9. WOW J, you want another man's juices!
  10. That is so fucking funny!!! That shit is priceless.
  11. 150 is tossed around a lot but is not easily achievable. What are your actual goals and what other steps do you plan on taking?
  12. "Conditions Look Good for Flying"
  13. This is a wall of sound in the ride. SO much going on. IF you haven't tried the San Francisco orchestra discs, I highly suggest them. I quit listening to Metallica after ...And Justice for ALL. But this album is worthy.
  14. No metal in the eye's. So thats good.
  15. MRI was fun. Jammed "songs you know by heart" and meditated away to a tropical place while in that CRAZY machine for 20 minutes.
  16. And another small one 5.3l comp cam thumpr cam, 918 valve springs, milled heads, stainless steel longtube headers, custom tune, and corvette servo.
  17. Thought I'd give a small update
  18. I like the PWC plates in the beginning and end an "No Time" during the shoot. VA to FL, hmm.
  19. True Nutrition guys, thanks for getting me drinking awesome tasting shakes again. The only thing I miss is the nasty gas that came with every muscletech shake.
  20. Sorry if that came out pointed. I get super frustrated with the serious lack of knowledge at ANY install shops in Minneapolis. We have so much great stuff here to not have a shop sucks.

Yes^^ And remember, Re is just the DC resistance of the wire the coil is made of. It has little to do with what load the amplifier sees. In reality, an amplifier will never under any circumstances even see a load as low as Re due to losses in the interconnect cabling... It may be close, but it will always see just above Re and higher... The only way to see the actual load (excluding interconnect cabling) is to model the driver in your enclosure, as the enclosure is the #1 contributor to a majority of the load your amplifier sees...

Realistically with an Re that low it's probably closer to a 1.5ohm nominal than a 2ohm. For example the JL 13W7 with dual "1.5ohm" coils has an Re of 2.4ohm (coils in series). According to IEC standards the impedance shouldn't drop below 80% of the nominal impedance over the intended bandwidth. So for a 2ohm nominal driver to be correctly classified as "2ohm" the impedance shouldn't drop below 1.6ohm. Simple answer is to plug the driver into WinISD and look at the impedance curve, and then realize that the Re and hence impedance will increase some once real power is applied to the driver due to heat. You would be fine to consider it a 2ohm coil for wiring options, whether or not it fits with the technical definition.
  23. I'm trying I'm trying!!!!! Mechman 260 amp alt Ftmfw!!! Stock alt for size reference
  24. I hear there is possible issues outside of their control that is restricting their business potential. I am only feeling like this info is more and more true with continued problems getting through to them. Do not worry about all "online" companies having these issues. Some of us have large business networks where contact info is streamlined throughout all partners.
  25. we'll I was using it on four sd neo pro's 10 that it handle it like a champ so I decided to do a final install rewiring and puff my error. I was so mad at my self.
