  1. Box still needs to be painted and have quality terminals installed, but I couldn't wait ANY longer. She's a tight squeeze, but no hard pushing required to get box in. Getting her out will be a heavy lift from a crappy angle, but I am installing handles on the back to aid. The wife said, "You built it, you lift it" Ahh well, she doesn't get it. Side panels will be getting built next. Sub height came out good into cabin even with a situp mat under box Rear shot: Not much space back there anymore. I wanted to still carry a spare, so the little donut worked out perfect.
  2. someone else's subjective opinion on how they sound shouldn't mean jack to you. however, opinions on build quality, for example, are useful. if you're about to drop several hundred bucks on this install do yourself a favor and listen to them in person. or spend less money so you wont be pissed when they sound like shit
  3. madisound.com parts-express.com uspeaker.com i dont think OP is doing an active install. ah, good catch lithium. Maybe he could make his own passive setup. I've never tried myself, but there are some kits available.

  6. If two people tell you the same story at the same time how will the words sound? Clearer or mismatched and muddy? Ditch the rears.
  7. My favorite components are Hertz HSK165XL, but everybody doesn't like the same thing so its kinda hard to take ones input. Arc Audio Arc Series are good too. Just a couple to look into, but like stated before ditch the rears and only worry about the front doors.
  8. I like how your being active here. Never ran SQ gear but being here to talk with us is always a good thing. May possibly deal with you in the future!
  9. In general I think the cartridge types are lackluster. The Nespresso is by far the best, but it only makes very small euro sized coffees. The others are pizzle in general. Of course I am a bigger coffee snob than pretty much anything else. I figure anything I have 2-3 times a day better be good. My current setup is a Mazzer Super Jolly and Quick Mill Vetrano. https://www.chriscoffee.com/Mazzer-Super-Jolly-Espresso-Grinder-p/2810.htm http://www.chriscoffee.com/Quickmill-Vetrano-p/n995.htm What I use though REQUIRES barista skill. Have to pull a good 1000 shots before you start getting good ones. Just ordered 60lbs of green beans a few days ago as well. Shipped they are less than $5/lb
  10. I am now a member and get monthly shipments!! Thanks to the W.
  11. Aaron, you should like this. http://www.engadget.com/2014/02/24/htc-power-to-give/?a_dgi=gravity
  12. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/61361-bc3500d-current-drawelectrical-needs/ Give that a read, it will help answer your questions. In short a g31 battery in the trunk will help but it depends on listening habits really. The best way to see if your happy with the voltage is to install and see how it responds. If you want less voltage drop then another g31 in the rear should do the trick.
  13. First off, WOW!! These Xcons sound soo smooth and clean! I just wish I had gotten into quality gear sooner. Like one stated earlier, they're giving me a boner...haaa The car is also rattling soo much less now with subs now firing into the cabin...love it!! Deadening is still coming soon too though. First I need to address my electrical needs. At idle, car is 14.4v. At full tilt with a BC2000 I'm dropping to low 11s. This is obviously no good and I'm not wanting to even crank it until I get a new alt & battery. Here's what I'm thinking: Mechman 320a alt & a XS D3100?? Good combo together? If I'm getting just 1 rear battery is the D3100 large enough? An engine bay battery is on the list eventually, but I'd like to keep running the yellow top up there for now. I really don't want more than 2 batteries, as all this equipment is already heavy enough for this car. I'm planning on either the AQ3500 or Crescendo 3500 for sub amp, and still undecided on front stage amp, Lets say 800w for front amp for now. I'm ready to buy stuff tomorrow, as I just can't wait to hear these Xcons at 14v.
  14. Top on with a heater for the eve. Was a cold Fri eve, and I def wanted her cured for Sat rippin Ready Ready
  15. Final Specs: Ready for top
  16. No router Picasso here, but I yhad to have a lil fun cutting the easy top layer holes out. A little love for the SSA group here Happy camper
  17. Cut port with second face layer glued n screwed like a mofo. (reminds my of a girl I used to date.......HaHaaa!) I didn't want any screw heads or holes on front face. Should never have done this in the garage with the door closed. I just couldn't quit, as the end was in sight...
  18. Problem mite be solved! They have it ran at 4 ohm.
  19. Raised the ass up another 2 inches. Looks much better without the ole Cali lean, lol. Now its time to finally get the audio going.
  20. you should see big gains with the addition of this battery
  21. Just taking a guess, but wouldn't that change the weight of the entire way the thing moves? It looks worse than putting those weights around rims of tires on a car in this case since it's attached directly to the center, but I understand looks can be deceiving which is why I ask.
  22. Lmao!!! I wish I was able to be less responsible with my money. Smh! Make sure to pm me the photos yes lolDid you think about getting two DSS Ethos 15"? More cone area is a plus and it would be a nice change to what you currently have. I am checking your photobucket daily
  23. Why no big 3, its the cheapest electrical upgrade there is? Especially since you upgraded your sub amp.
  24. 0 points
    my pride and joy
  25. Thanks! I really did enjoy building it. I hadn't done any amount of woodworking in quite a few years. I would change just one thing, the glue I used. I went with liquid nails, which doesn't sand very well. I'll weigh the whole unit when I take it out soon, as I'm curious. What you think, about 160lb? JAy-Cee: You have me considering swinging by Sears today after work. $100 less per battery sounds good! What do you have for electrical in the Acura?? Nothing in the Acura at the moment besides big 3 and agm under hood, everything besides the front stage is ripped out as im planning on upgrades and a new car. All batteries from here on out will be from Sears, those Diehard Platinums are the way to go. Yeah I would definitely go buy Sears and grab a g31 or two. But what are your goals?
