  1. Don't take this the wrong way, but until you figure out what you did wrong the first time around, no matter what you do (fix leads, FI recone or PSI recone) it is simply going to happen again. So, after you fix your driver(s), you need to make sure that #1 you aren't applying to much power to exceed thermal limits and #2 don't have an enclosure alignment, power level or active filter setting that is allowing over-excursion. I am not questioning your abilities, but I highly suggest you find out how to do both aspects, as it was NOT done before. There are people on here that can walk you through all the needed steps, just ask...
  2. My first guess would be over excursion, looks like you pushed the cone too far and it pulled out the tinsel leads where they are soldered to the coil leads.

That's the new US Acoustics Barbara Ann. We are the online dealer for US Acoustics.
  4. I have wrecked Kate Beckinsale SO many times.
  5. If you twist the serpantine belt on your car..it will snap..because it's too short when you twisted it. If you twist a tinsel lead when you tighten it up..it magically becomes shorter, the geometry changes..and it breaks! What do we see in the pictures posted? Twisted leads. They are not straight. This is the paper that goes in the packaging with them. -out.
  6. I use photobucket and then copy the link here. No worries we all just want to help you the best way possible and not some simple solution that may only cost you more money down the road.
  7. fi would be better quality wise, but will take much more time. Especially if you're sending it in. Psi will have less quality, still playable, but you will have faster response time. so pick which one you want.
  8. Oh know you wanna admit your at fault. You came in the thread making it seem like Fi has a problem with their subs. We dont let stuff slide in here, we ge to the point and some people cant take it. Sorry but it is what it is. I would build a new box before buying another recone before the same thing happens months from now. Obviously your gains werent set correctly or this thread wouldnt have been started. We did help you we told you no on the PSI recone, you just didnt like the way we helped you. Good day man
  9. You had your answer : a Fi recone will be better than a PSI recone. A lot of people are going to read that thread, not only you. Stop crying like...a teenager ! Be thanksfull for the answer you got and forget it. You don't really know what you are doing if you managed to blow a Fi sp4 on a "2400 watts" amp. Box was too big you said ? 5.5 cu ft or 7 ? All those members want to help you to keep your sub in good conditions. They don't want you to blow it again.
  10. Sounds more like user error. Psi recone being better for a Fi sub is hilarious, naw man stick with Fi for a recone.

Very underrated sub the gcons are and on my top 5 list.
  12. My Sp4s have been taking ~4k for over a year without a single issue. Its not the woofer...You can't rule out that his sub might have had some kind of defect just because you had been running your sp4's for a year.
  13. if Fi has such great recones then how come I see pictures of the new lead designs falling apart?
