The EVIL 6.5" Midbass
4 pointsI am very happy with the swap. They(Evils) don't have as much output from 80hz and down as the Seas, but the xcons play so flat that they blend well enough to hide it. 100hz and up and they start to have noticeably more output, especially above ~500hz. Detail and clarity seems to be on par with the Seas.4 points

Definitely one of those things that is usually much more obvious once taken apart.1 point- Dcon 10" OMG
1 pointWell, I got lucky. The spring on the positive speaker terminal was worn out causing the speaker wire to not make contact with the terminal. All is good once again.1 point- Help choosing a DSP, highs and mids.
-1 pointsSo, for more money and less usability? $210 buy you 2 miniDSP's with all the power of those+. Don't understand that recommendation at all. Overpay for less functionality and more...nothing.-1 points- Help choosing a DSP, highs and mids.
-1 pointsFR 3's HAVE to HAVE to HAVE to be on axis. If he wants in dash control it means a new headunit. Just make sure to get the balanced miniDSP's as they have more output voltage (even when used unbalanced)-1 points- Help choosing a DSP, highs and mids.
-1 pointsA 2x4 balanced with DC isolator. If you want processing on the sub and can't use the headunit for it a second one will solve that. Need appropriate plugins depending on the configuration.-1 points- xover and eq question
-1 pointsIndeed, skywalker. wow. Next time just ask the simple question, sometimes it is easier.-1 points- xover and eq question
-1 pointsInformation is great, but back it up with a simple question. i wasn't really sure you were even asking a question, nor what it was.-1 points- Question about equalizer and cross overs
-1 pointsEqualizers are used to combat anomalies in the response of a system by cutting them out. "decent" and "power acoustic" shouldn't be used in the same sentence in this regard either. I'd return the thing...unless of course you have some need it is fulfilling.-1 points- help with 80prs auto-eq
-1 pointsSuggestion is to not use it, that feature sucks. Too bad since the rest of the headunit is awesome.-1 points- help with 80prs auto-eq
-1 pointsIf the auto eq sounds good you need to find someone who knows how to tune. It screws up even the easy stuff.-1 points- help with 80prs auto-eq
-1 pointsDidn't mean to trivialize the good sounding to you part. Definitely the first step. I would warn you on using it as a starting point though as they jack so many settings it is hard to correct. I found it much easier from scratch. And seriously it will just get WAY better.-1 points- help with 80prs auto-eq
-1 pointsAnd that is the bummer, the one thing it SHOULD be able to do right is T/A. Only reason I tried it as it is easier than pulling out any other gear to measure. It failed miserably at it though.-1 points- help with 80prs auto-eq
-1 pointsI tried in a variety of ways including as it is spelled out in the manual. Nothing was even close or logical. It does absolutely no measurement of cone breakup, fails miserably at time alignment and just flat out sucks. To put it in perspective using a relatively random crossover of 4k at 12dB mid/hp with NO time alignment at all and it sounded worlds better.-1 points- help with 80prs auto-eq
-1 pointsBack calculate the T/A and see if it is even in the ballpark. If not, scrap the T/A settings it used altogether. It also didn't do any phasing, which to me is a crying shame. I've never had a system where all 4 drivers in the front stage were phased the same. That can make a HUGE difference. Another thing you can try is to save those settings and start over. Once you train your ear this will definitely be the better approach.-1 points- help with 80prs auto-eq
-1 pointsAnd it could be WAY closer than the Pio measurement. I'd double check it pronto. If it can't do that (which is by far the easiest measurement to automate) it should send a message. Start from scratch, really will help.-1 points- Good amp to push a pair of Pioneer TS-D1720C
other way around . Deadening is a fundamental part of install-1 points- Is changing passive crossover same as changing headunit EQ?
Start with sharing your setup like we asked in the other thread....-1 points- Is changing passive crossover same as changing headunit EQ?
No. EVERY setting and pictures. We already went over this....no one can help you without it. Shop is just taking your money atm and it won't help!!-1 points- Is changing passive crossover same as changing headunit EQ?
The settings are equally important. Any knob you can change would be good to know what it is at including the head unit settings.-1 points- Is changing passive crossover same as changing headunit EQ?
They put deadening on the parts that are dead and not on the parts that are sources of structure borne noise? Wtfbbq??-1 points- Is changing passive crossover same as changing headunit EQ?
Stop typing books without the information we asked. NO ONE can help you without it. Pretty sure there is one or two simple settings you have completely jacked which screws everything up. Trying to trouble shoot with general terms is impossible. It would be akin to you asking a mechanic to trouble shoot your car over the internet and all you tell him is that you have a car, this cars brake pedal goes down 60%. What is wrong?-1 points- Evil 15 power/enclosure
-1 pointsYou will hear absolutely zero difference going from 3000w to 4000w. Even if the amp were a free trade I wouldn't bother. As for the box size, again for music you should avoid that. You are sitting in a good position. If there were certain frequencies, notes, anomalies or the like you wanted to change then perhaps a different box design could be the fix but there are also probably better ways to do that.-1 points - Rear side hatch window loose from bass
