The lack of air will squash your midbass. The SSA driver should have more potential there, but won't like being squashed. Venting into the hood would help a TON. I'd personally definitely try with a single set first.

Wow.

Due to the purchase of my first real TV, I am venturing into digital to digital signal. The TV has no RCA outs, so my Dayton 2.1 plate amp couldn't directly mate up with my TV. With some help of Neal and SDY, there was an option for a converter or amp replacement. Due to potential latency issues with the signal conversion and possible effect on the quality of the sound, I opted for a new little amp. So I just ordered the SMSL Q5 PRO as it has optical in, a remote, and RCA out. https://www.parts-express.com/smsl-q5-pro-stereo-amplifier-usb-optical-coaxial-dac-with-subwoofer-output-2x40w--230-210 This gives me the ability to still use the plate amp for just subwoofer purposes. The SMSL will power at 20 watts a tower (which each consists of 4 Aura full range speaks), which is pretty much the same power the Dayton 2.1 plate amp was putting to them. I will report back when it is set up and I have some listening time on it.

I'd rather have dohc oval power

For the price I give these 5 stars and for an audiophile tweeter I would give them at least 4 stars. Doing mild tuning still and these just get better and better with mild boosts and cuts (.2 db here and there) crossed over at 3750 Hz in kick panels powered off 2 channels of a Zapco Z-150.6. Brings up 20k and does not fluster and is EXTREMELY tunable. I have had SEVERAL other tweeters from Hertz, CDT, Image Dynamics and so far these are the best.

And the 240SX tires and rims have been selected by Kyle and ready to install!!! "Here they are! My Volk Racing TE37SLs for the #240SX. I love the timeless look of these wheels. They're forged alloys, super lightweight and have an awesome dark grey finish on the spokes. Took about 2 months to order from Japan 17 X 9" with a +22 offset. They should fit nicely. I have center caps for them too. Will be getting them fitted to the car next week!"

Introducing My 1989 Nissan 240SX Project Car!

Yes. This is a TQWT (Tuned Quarter-Wavelength Tube) design that Terry Cain developed after reading the Fostex Craft Handbooks which were widely available in Japan and very hard to find here. If I remember the backstory correctly, apparently the Japanese have a fairly engrained knowledge of speakers...even being able to learn acoustics in lower-level education facilities. edit: As always, James Melhuish's site comes through. And yes, if simulation is your game, you simply must get MJK's MathCAD sheets. Martin is also kind enough to explain the derivation of the formulas used and how to do the simulations. Don't be afraid to jump in.
