  1. Well, final construction is done. Just going to let the glue cure overnight before I flush trim the back side, but then she'll be ready for some orange dye and polyurethane! I'm extremely happy with how the box has turned out (especially the port). Oh, and the 9" hole in the front is the viewing window. Everyone does square/rectangular windows, so I wanted to do something different. Also need to buy some LED's to put inside the box. I can't decide whether I want to paint the inside white, or just poly it and leave it a natural finish. Suggestions?

I would recommend. But look at your application and see if you can fit a 15 in there. It is a good sounding sub but not terribly loud.

When I built this system, I was thinking that I am older now and I just needed a little bass. The SD-12 was great. It was in a 1 CUFT pre-fab enclosure. There was nothing wrong with it. I needed a SQ sub that I can load into a ported enclosure so I went with the Flatlyne.
  4. That rounded box is beautiful ! My box builder tried that on my last box, but only on the length, not on the sides like yours. That is a great idea for my next box, someday. Good luck for the build.
  5. WoW ! That kerfed port is nice ! Beautiful box. Can't wait to see it painted and installed. Congrats.
  6. Thanks! I've always tried to be creative (different) just because it gets boring seeing 100 people build boxes that all look pretty much the same. When I built boxes as a side job a few years ago in Oklahoma, I did some crazy stuff (triple octaport 6th order bandpass, SSA freehand jigsaw cutout inside of a brace, t-line in the shape of a snailshell/octagon). Actually, if you go back to the main forum page and scroll almost all the way down, look through the subforum "McGovney Designs". That's some of my work from a few years ago. So was about time to have some fun again. And this enclosure still has quite a ways to go.
  7. Well first off I thought you was making a slot port with two kerfs in it. I saw how long your wood was so I figured you was making a single piece front wall. With the kerfs for the port. Then I saw you had it looping around and the orientation you took the pic, so I imagined a slot port where that rounded piece of wood was the port wall lol. Yea way off. But know this, you just blew the mind of someone with your wood working skills and design!!! Lol. And it’s 2017, a bunch of outlets with a huge data base of informations. ( google ,YouTube, etc) and ive never seen that done before. So kudos to you my man
  8. Thanks! I've been doing this for a few years. My real passion is furniture building. But, all the same principles apply to box building.
  9. so jealous of your craftsmanship, dope ass enclosure
  10. Thank you! I should be finishing the construction after work today, and start testing wood dye's.
