  1. I designed Aaron's sleeve for him, but another gentleman did the work back east. Jordan's doing good. He just got fired for calling a customer a dumb cunt, otherwise good.
  2. A lot has been said, but don't forget about connections. Poor connections are the number one source of heat due to increased resistance. This can be as simple as a loose screw, poorly crimped terminal, or a bad solder joint. Always use the proper tools and techniques and re-check your connections often. Keep in mind, you have so many dissimilar metals and this is THE recipe for corrosion.
  3. Kinda detailed, but not. Would shot for simpler than that example. Bold lines, with solid black in a few area's and some simple edge shading. keep it very two tone. We would want lots of skin breaks (negative space) to match the weight of the other guy. So three tone, if you count the skin. lol This is a good example of one I did, that gives reference to the weight I would shot for. Note the thin inner lines on the skull and leafs, That gives depth to the line work... would be about the only othe detail that could give one more element, but keep it clean and simple. These are one's I did that are very powder shaded and detailed. I would not go that far, so these are reference of what we are NOT after.
  4. Thanks. It helps say thanks to our customers, and it helps future customers, and it will make my life a pinch easier when I can just point to the reviews.
  5. How does this sound? Until further notice, we can do $3 SSA Store credit for each honest SSA review. Requirements: Clearly written and punctuated properly. Minimum 2 paragraphs. Actual personal experience with the product, through owning it or extensive testing/usage. Maximum 11 reviews per user for SSA store credit, or $33 total (to avoid abuse of this promotion) #larrybird Send me a detailed PM with a link to all your reviews, include your SSA Store account email address for me to apply the credit to. If you have reviews prior to today posted, I can apply $1 per review as the above requirements were not set forth until now. Any other suggestions? I approve reviews every day (and delete spam), so the turnaround would be quick.
  6. Hey I hope u never hear from me then lol jk.. Honestly, you have an outstanding sub line up. Every sub has surprised me and exceeded my expectations. I take care of my stuff but every now and then ill get on the knob, and i KNOW things wont break.. Big props to you and the team behind it all, Thank you!! Have a blessed day.
  7. So in your case, then I hope you never get to review our stuff.
  8. Welcome to the forum and the SSA family!! That’s a hell of a set of subs you got coming!
  9. And not to get political, but I work with a guy who does nothing but bash Trump and praise Obama. He tells me how informed he is and how he does his research and knows what to believe. The day of the Florida shooting, he showed me an article on some website how Trump signed into law a bill that made it easier for metally ill people to buy guns. Well, being me, I decided to do some homework and there is a lovely site Congress.gov where you can read ANY and EVERY bill, measure, law, etc, ever enacted and brought to fruition. There are word for word transcripts available. On this certain bill, there are 21 pages and I've spent the past 3 days reading through the entire thing and well, wouldn't you know it, but the media is not being truthful about this bill in any sort of way. Hmm.
  10. I'm open for this, I have tried all previous model subs, except icon.. sort of funny tho, I usually wait to break things to give my review. Till this day I haven't broke anything ssa
  11. You could transfer my Mike amplifier review Havent installed my Evil mids yet, but I will try to give one for Icon even though mine was the previous version.
  12. Not to discourage trying something new, but you do already gave a couple nice options there (especially the icon)... Leads me to the thought of "if it ain't broke don't fix it" Any particular reason you don't want to run the icon? And what are the dimensions you have to work with?
  13. Ten years later, this still stands. Any reviews you guys have from your experience with the products we carry will be a nice help. I am tempted to do a barter system, reviews in trade for a little SSA Store credit.
  14. Resistance=Heat The question really is how long? How long will a low note being played at full tilt CONTINUALLY take to overheat the amplifier internals. How long will said amp last in such conditions. Not very, and that's why comp guys are rough on amp's. On the other hand, music is dynamic. The amplifier will not see those conditions. Also you are only moving the hot spot to the next weakest link, which is the alternator. That's why comp guys be running 4+ of them. Heat (resistance) is an electrical device's worst enemy. For every 10 degrees Celsius the life span of the internal components is cut in half. I can only imagine how much you are shortening the lifespan of your amplifiers with the way you have it wired now. If you want to be real technical, the electrician rule of thumb is only run wiring to 80% of its rating. So figure out how long your run of wire is and add 20% to the total amp rating for comfort... If you want to get technical.
