  1. You are wasting money if you buy a passive setup and run it active. Why pay for the engineering that went into designing and tuning the passive setup if you are just going to throw it out the window? Theres alot of benifits and good reasons to building an active setup, but just to have a 3way is not one of them.
  2. My first video game console was a TI-99.
  3. All subwoofers are made to play "low". The way you set them up is what will predict how well it plays "low". Just because a sub is rated for more power than 900 watts, doesn't mean it won't sound good on 900watts, and may even hit "lower" than the 900 watt rated sub on the same power.
  4. If the battery you have now is good, why replace it? I would focus on a HO alternator first and use the battery you have. The reason I recommend this is a battery is a storage tank and the alternator is what makes the power. A QUALITY 200 amp alternator will produce all the power you need with ease and the battery will reinforce it. If you put a bigger or multible batterys only, your 80 amp alternator will be staining just to keep the battery charged, the power has to come from somewhere. I have a blazer with a 200 amp alt and a single battery, I can unhook the battery and run the Warn 9000# winch with no load and the voltage stays steady. NOW to the other extreme, my Honda has two XS Power batterys, and my 250 amp alt just broke forcing me to reinstall the factory alt. SO with ONLY the factory alt and TWO XS batterys, I have voltage drop even at moderate volumes. The math alone proves the point, but personal experience confirms the facts. You can buy a cigarette plug voltage meter at walmart if you don't want to install a permanent voltage meter.
  5. Welcome to SSA.
  6. The box came out SWEET!! Good choice on the sub.
  7. Just got back from "Dounuts for Dads" at my daughters school.
  8. No, but after Kader asking last month and Dem Beats, Sean and I giving him suggestions this is what I came up with. (sorry I can't remember your real names) last name eva, first name greatest? - Matt Edited cuz I'm dumb. I was pretty sure that was the name. I checked out your pic of the scallops cooked in the muffin pans, I will give it a try sometime.
  9. I just want an amp that will do 500 or 600 watts x2 at 4 ohm's in stereo. That's a BEAST You were the one talking about the Zapco 1000.4, it does 500 x 2 @4ohm! There's a few others I have found, the Sundown 200.4 take's the cake at 615 watts. Now I have to change my awnser, after reading the ZED newsletter. Dreadnought: The name is in recognition of the First World War British battleships. This amplifier is truly a Dreadnought. Rated at 225w x 4 at 4 ohm and 400w x 4 at 2 ohms it is a true power house in the world of 4 channel amplifiers. Bridged power into is 450w x 2 into 8 ohm and 800w x 2 into 4 ohm. This should satisfy the power cravings from sub duty to tweeters! The feature sets are identical to those shown above for Draconia. The foot print is identical to Leviathan. That amp is just going to be flat nuts. The footprint is what makes it so appealing to me.
  10. I figured I better get one while the getting was good. I love SSA and am proud to promote for you guy's. We keep the runs small and charge cost on that stuff. We have done the same thing with hoodies for our tattoo shop. Now we have bought a silk screen machine and are making our own shirts. The tracking said my package was in Denver yesterday, so should be here today or tomarrow.
  11. So you say you swapped tweeters and the noise stayed in the same channel? Do you have another amp you could test with? Maybe run a temporary test speaker wire to the speaker and eliminate the wiring.
  12. Ironicly the fucktards that want a deal on something, are the same fucktards that will never be happy with the service no matter what you do for them.
  13. Take the 701 out of the equation and see if the noise stops. If that doesn't work try a different amp. I am sure through the process of elimination you should be able to find the problem.
  14. That is the detailed recipe.
  15. No, but after Kader asking last month and Dem Beats, Sean and I giving him suggestions this is what I came up with. (sorry I can't remember your real names)
  16. The purpose of this thread is to discuss the design flaw of the 250XP alternator case. This thread is NOT to BASH on DC Power so DO NOT use it to do so. I am here to discuss ONLY fact's, and help improve on design quailty. The mounting ear has broke twice on my 250XP alternator, in under a year. This is installed on a 2.3L 4 cyl equipped 99' honda Accord. The case is weak due to not enough material left around the mounting ears and the bracket allowing too much movement. From what I understand DC Power will be redesigning the case and leaving more material. I will post pics of the new one if Rob does not. If this happens again I would hope for a bracket redesign also. Heres pics, the first ones are installed before breaking. A few angles of the factory bracket. The DC bracket. its broke close to the same place both times. These are of the second time. Yes its very tight. Here is a couple pics of the first time it broke. took a little bigger chunk. The side by side with the OEM. Heres how the Nippindiso mounting ear is.
  17. Teh scalloped potatos came out excellent. Smoked Gouda (yummy) Sharp Chedder Parmesan heavy whipping cream Red Russets scalloped carrots Pearl onions (yummy) semi-pressed garlic, chopped Nutmeg The cheese combo was a WIN WIN. The carrots and Pearl onions were GREAT as predicted. Let me know what you guys think?
  18. Something new to try Peng. Thanks.
  19. Thats a pretty impressive HU then. What about other rear passangers? What are their opinions? Not to say I don't trust your family's opinion, I just know that most families don't want their child to be exposed to loud music. I have 3" full range speakers on my dash, aimed rearward running on 15watts. They are audible and sound great, even with my 15" BTL playing at high levels. HOW and WHY do the 3"s keep up? Because they are the only source of the frequencys they are playing and don't encounter cancelation. (single point source) AND VERY little power is needed to produce higher frequency's. I like healthy midbass too so I also have midbass speakers. ALL speakers crossed at the approprriate frequencys, as to not overlap and cause peaks or cancalation in the FR. As far as rear passengers opinions, I have alot of people ride around with me. Alot of music loving men, quite a few play in bands. They are amazed at the acoustics in the car, even riding in the back. My 9 yr old daughter is the other one that rides in the back. She likes dad to turn it up LOUD, and can sing along NO problem. I almost think some days that the back seat is the best in the car due to more equal path lenghts of the single point source sound. The last thing I wanted to add is, when I had to run without midbasses, I had the 3"s playing down to 200hz. Most people couldn't tell the mids were even off, ESPECIALLY at high volume levels. I use to make this statement and believed myself. I had rear speakers for years. I would say I liked the "club" sound. I think the only time it sounded decent was when I listened to rap, and even then I am happier now.
  20. Atleast now I know it's not just me when I get a bottle of Crown that taste's rougher than usual. A snowboarding buddy of mine always brings a bottle when we ride and is the one to thank for starting me on it. I love to try new things, Tis the spice of life.
  21. The HU came out titties! Now you got some James Bond shit going going on up in there.

  24. I honestly think Crown is garbage. Some of the 20 dollar bottles I have purchased have aged longer and been smoother. However when talking whiskey, burbon, or scotch there is only one I enjoy. Red Breat. It's absolutely amazing if you like a flavorfull drink. If you want the carbony scotch flavors it's not as ideal. I've had all of the cheepest to the most expensive 500 a bottle stuff, and I would put Red Breast above them all. I shall try it. Thanks.
  25. SSA fucking rocks TOP
