Help with 2008 F250 subwoofer wiring
A simple answer for you would be measure/check the gauge/size of the power wire to the factory amp. From this you can denote the largest aftermarket amp you can run without swapping/replacing wires. That would limit you to whatever size power wire is factory. The other direction to go about it would be to pick the aftermarket amp and then match the wire accordingly, which is what most the guys here would do.

How much CLD/CCF/MLV for my car?
I have treated a whole floor with dampener and luxury liner pro. Reinstalling the seats was about the hardest thing, but was not impossible. At worst you will have to shave away the foam right at the seat mounts. Are you attempting to stop road noise, engine noise, or panel vibration? I have a hard time believing that car has much road noise or panel resonation, but would believe the engine noise. I could be wrong, but that is subjective opinion. As there will always be noisier and quieter cars. Please tell me you're not falling for some marketing pitch like "as quiet as a coffin". Because that is not possible, but lowering particular audible sounds is. So if you really want everybody's help I would suggest narrowing in on the what particular noises you are attempting to lower!

I deal with people all day and the ones that show your level of frustration, generally have a preconceived notion of the way they see things going. In my opinion you are making life hard on yourself by not being flexible and open minded.

Meh we are all here stroking our own egos, you are just amplifying it to a degree that is disrupting the herd. I gave that fly on the wall perspective so you will see why his brash personality is tolerated And advice is respected here. Not to mention the guy is willing to help others, and has continued to help you. The reason I give my opinion because I hate to see someone bullied or struggle. You seem to be struggling here, and I would hope you're not making life this hard on yourself in other realms.

The rep system is a great feature, imo. Is nice to to say "hey I had an epiphany from your post" or "thanks for the information", without adding a comment. Don't know that the neg- feature does much good though, as any mis-imformation is going to get called out verbally anyways. The need for people to feel validated and important to the rest of the herd is nothing new. Clearly the real issue here seems to be one gentlemen's need to feel validated. Unfortunately he just keeps alienating the herd, instead of contributing to gain that respect. Beyond that, any regular visitor here knows where M5 and Billy are coming from. M5 does acoustical work for a living and his opinion is usually logic based and very discerning. Billy's opinion is generally to stroke his own ego, gain attention and tell everybody how a hillbilly would do it. I am sure billy is proficient is whatever trade he does, but its clearly not electrical or acoustic work. I personally like both opinions and use them to make my own. Which is usually somewhere in between. As far as the initial disagreement I clearly agree the old thought process of this brand is better than that brand is gone. People know better now and search for dollar to performance ratio, not bragging rights. The 90's are gone, and so is the ignorance. Now to the average person just searching the web for say "what sub fits a nissan car", will most likely go right back to google as soon as he gets in a topic full of people blabbing about everything other that the topic. Unfortunately those topics stay on the internet for years and effect the reputation of this site, that others have spent years to build. Hopefully this helps you, billy, understand why people do not care for your useless posts. I am not saying we don't want you here, but if you want to feel important and get validation on this site you need to adjust your roll bro. If you don't like the effect, dont produce the cause.

I would be happy with it, if thats what your asking. With the transfer function of the car you should be right on point, and the sub should blend well with the mids. Youre gaining 6db output in the sweet spot, WITHOUT needing any additional power. Whats not to like about that?

You could shift the port tuning a few hz and see what happens to the peak. Maybe give 30hz and 35hz a try. Beyond that, I honestly think your graph looks pretty good. One of the goals with a ported enclosure is to gain output in the intended bandwidth, which your design is clearly doing. If you want a smooth response, perhaps model sealed.

Change the surface area of the port (port size) when modeling and see if it helps the peak.

sub options for Altima coupe
Sounds like you got a plan! I agree there is no need to upgrade the speakers if they aren't broken and make you happy. Can always upgrade as you feel needed or budget permits. I just installed a pioneer 4700bs in my ride and am pretty happy with it so far. IIRC there wasn't much dif between the two. HD radio and few other features. Modeled a pair of Dcon 10"s for ya. They look good in the recommended volume of 1.25 cuft, so 2.5 cu ft gross vol. before port displacement. This is tuned to 32hz with a 10.5" x 4" port. (10.5" height is where you would be married, with a 12" tall box, port firing forward or backward), with a port length of 39.25". Let me know if you still need help designing the enclosure, and we will get you fixed up.

You are on the right path, with choosing the Dcon's. They are VERY budget friendly and efficient. they will blow anything in their price range out of the water, with both clarity and output. I have a ported 15" Dcon and it sounds great playing everything from Odis Redding to Too Short. If you have a good battery, you should be fine without an HO alternator for a daily driver. Cars now a days have pretty high output to begin with, to feed all the electronics. Not to mention I personally wouldnt even worry about one until I am pushing over 2k in power. Even Then, I would install the stereo first and see if an HO is even needed afterwards. That said I just installed 2 15" Icon's in my daily driver, on 2k plus the another 600 watt amp. I have to REALLY push it, to even get the headlights to flicker. I will NOT be adding an HO, but will probably install a second battery in the back. More for reinforcement than anything, as with my listening style, that is more than enough. What are your plans for the rest of the stereo, other than the sub?

I Googled "free subwoofer box design software" and quite a few came up.
