  1. How much easier? I saw those radiating ring tweeters like the scanspeaks and the vifas, I heard the vifa once for like one minute, not long enough but it sounded great. What are the recommendations for each way? Easier would be nice, but I feel like totally on axis to myself in the driver seat might affect the performance to the passengers, I just have to figure out if I care though lol. Any mid suggestions, or tweets first then mids.

Yeah, good deals on those spools too!
  3. Get those pics and videos quick!! Not too quick though, make it nice, sure you will though.
  4. I wanna try up high then, I can use some TA to help the seperation. Do the mids now need to be more on axis now, maybe slighty towards me and the passenger as well as angled up? I want to put the tweets in the space between the pillar and the dash if that's ok. Time for drivers!!! By the way thanks so much for the help you two. And should the tweet ne on axis horizontally towards me or in between the passenger and I. I do drive people probably 50% of the time. Guess they don't sit in the car with me though for hours, nor do they pay the bills haha.
  5. Definately don't quote me on this, but I am sure they do custom tooth matching.
  6. Ohio Generators, I second DC Power, also powermaster
  7. I also read it would sound better than the BTL, but with that power it will be hard to tell haha. Personally that seems pretty expensive for a sub, that's TC Sounds LMS pricing almost haha. I am sure there are benifits if it is supposed to use a smaller box and you have a truck, you still might be able to sit and drive it!!! I guess no one has really tried them... care to write a review? lol
  8. QUOTED!! Oh, and the gold looks different in person, apparently....
  9. Oh, I was thinking it was a more recent GMC, I remember pics you have had before now that I think of it. Well go make some measurements and see what you have to work with up there, I was thinking that they have group 34s though. 31s are a good bit bigger.
  10. DC Audio also an option, level 4 ships about 300 I think. But Fi, AA, SSA, all good. Definately go ported 12, a lot of the drivers listed will get you more output.
  11. I thought one of the main purposes behind the SMD was to have good performance in a smaller box than the mayhem and BTL, I read that a few times over at the SMD forum. There wouldn't be anything wrong with throwing a D3400 or D1200 in the back would there ? By the way, you know the mods you need to make for the group 31 up front right?
  12. 5 band parametric 1/3 octave steps, 3 Q settings, +/- 6 dBs , 7 band graphic, T/A 1 ms steps, 3 way active crossover but I haven't used it yet, so if anyone knows how it well it functions let me know! Sub has phase, level, mono/stereo. Its kind of basic, I want to upgrade to the 701, but this is what I have now.
  13. $#/+ that is so tight! Are you ever going to get out of that car after the first time you sit in it?
  14. All I did was use some foam I found on a construction job site, it was light, open cell foam and it stopped it from vibrating. I have the 04, I would assume they are the same.
  15. Lol my first professional install the guy told me sealed is always louder than ported and it hurts the sound quality. Hmmmm
  16. Pics, or else... That's an empty threat, just trying to show the anticipation!

I am planning a new home theatre to replace my mirage system for my new house. The room is 15x19 with 9' ceilings, and there are large openings into the dining room and it is open to the front door entrance and hallway. This will be used for about 75% HT/TV and 25% music. I am going to switch to a pioneer elite vsx-23txh with 3 elemental designs A6-6T6-MTMs as my FL, FR, and C channels, and probably some A3-5Ts for the RL and RR. I will be needing a sub as well and would like to make one to save some cash. I was thinking about doing an IB3 15 or 18 on an ED LT/1300. Just wondering what type of box to do, have seen them in really big sealed and ported enclosures as well as sonotubes. Anybody used these in their home?
  18. Alright door it is for the mids! I am willing to do whatever is best, so if the a pillar would yeild the best results, that would be fine. I think kick panels would be easier, although I need to learn how to do the pillars, I have a guy that could help me if I needed him. How would the selection process be differen due to location (just a short explanation out of curiosity, if a pillars are better those recommendations would be all I need)? And the mb quart amp isn't bad, I mean for 150 dollars it was a pretty solid amp. Its in a girls car on some morel tempos and a fi ssd 12, I would pick a refurb sundown 100.4 or crescendo 1000.4 next time just because 90 dollars more is worth the warranty to me. I just ended up selling them for a little net gain.
  19. Why would he need an alt if he is only pulling 4 milliamps. He just needs 42.5 1/3 batts
  20. Lol, That's the KEY
  21. Crescendo Audio? - SSA Car Audio Forum I had a thread on them, post # 3 shows a comparison
  22. Well it does use the same board as the Sundown 3000d and Atomic 3000.1, so I have read. I talked to the guys over there and they seem helpful and that it has a 2 year warranty. It does rated at 14.4 and I think there were results on **** or diyma, I will try and find those. It won't be as strong as a 3500d and probably a few less quality parts than sundown, but it's a great deal for an amp of that stature.
  23. I can fit the large format tweeter, I guess either in a kick panel or the a pillar.and room for up to an 8 in the door and kick, depending whether the tweet goes into kick or not. My budget was 700, and that was to include another amp, I have the fd4150 right now, I could bridge that to my mids, so just another one for my highs.

I meant to say move more air, aghh I am not on top of my game today. I always liked that feeling, hair tricks were never a goal though lol.
  25. That's the main reason I'm trying to rid myself of my current set up. The tweeter and mid come connected on a pre cut baffle, and the crossover points correspond with one of my most annoying frequencies, even with the -3 dB attenuation. I am in need of a change. I may not be one hundred percent sure of my goals, but I never am for anything. It is a flaw of mine so I am sorry if I can't communicate anything better than previously have done. I tend to learn best by experience and mistakes, so what would be a more efficient way of me going about this? I would like to do a three way active with a two way front stage, with the stated goals on the last page as guidelines. Otherwise I guess passive two way it is.
