Begginer PLZ help for those who are experienced
I think an 18" BTL isnt too big for a first major install as long as you do your research and fully understand what your getting yourself into. Expect to buy a good alternator (not a db electric alt) a good battery.. probably 2. Some decent 1/0 gauge wire. An 18" BTL was my first major install and i love it, still plenty of room to go bigger when the funds are there. Hopefully you either want a tremendous amount of bass or you have heard a btl before because in the right enclosure your going to have some serious bass. Ask plenty of questions here if you need to, just provide as much info as you can to help get you some good answers. what amp is it you got your eye on?

jl w7 vs fi btl
i thought the biggest w7 was a 13.5", could be wrong. I cant see a W7 hanging with a BTL. W7's are nice but BTL all the way for me. Take a look through the Noob guidelines would you? this vs that threads are usually pointless without more information.

Kevin S
agreed, as it sits my business will not be with him. Hope he handles this also. Wouldnt mind a pair of skar's in the future or even ordering from his website, but with whats going on here i wont be a part of it. how he handles this situation could determine my future with him and his services.

where to find amp screws
No experience with eclipse amps, if you have another screw on the amp that is in good enough condition to remove and take with you to a lowes/home depot or any hardware store i would do that, see if you cant find one your looking for.

where to find amp screws
what amp is it exactly? any pictures to help visualize? some screws can be found on ebay for certain amps, some you might have to goto the hardware store with a matching screw and try to find a replacement.

Just ordered my Fi BTL N218
that AQ will power that btl just fine. I use a sundown 1500d on mine and it sounds great. H/O alt inst a bad idea. if it fits in the budget i would do it.

Looking to buy 50ft. of power wire. Which brand?
lmao.. 4/0.. seems like some huge ass wire, would like to see some of this up close. probably overkill for any of my installs but 1/0 is huge to me, this shit has to be monstrous.

Rockford Fosgate amp comparison
that could be part of the problem. big 3 should get done. Im no expert with electrical systems at all. I usually just do the big 3 and add the extra battery like you have already done. probably should make sure all your grounds are very solid and really consider putting in the work for the big 3. It couldnt hurt at this point. But if you are running that low of voltage i would be easy on your system at the least. dont push it hard at all. I had a vehicle along time ago that voltage would get very low and running it at 1 ohm would kick the amp into protect. Not good for the amp im sure.

Rockford Fosgate amp comparison
voltage drops to the high 10's.?. thats kinda low man, might want to consider some electrical work. not good for the amp to see voltage that low while beating on it. thats very low for having an extra battery and running only a 1500 watt amp. Something might be wrong.

Rockford Fosgate amp comparison
Those constant power amps are supposed to be alot more constant than others. no hands on experience but i saw meade changed his amps over to the CP's, supposed to make a difference. his description on the video says this.. "T2500.1bd which adds two letters to the end. CP. That stands for Constant Power. Basically, this amp puts out all of its power regardless of impedence rise, something you may encounter with most subwoofer enclosures. What this means is more power! Here is a description from the RF website The T2500-1bdCP is based on the legendary T2500-1bd amplifier design with a proprietary "Constant Power" configuration that delivers up to 25% more power (Watts) across all impedance loads. The result is a listening experience cleaner, louder and more impressive than ever before. This T2500-1bdCP amplifier pumps out 2,500 watts, easily driving any array of woofers wired to a 1-ohm load." video I know this isnt the 1500 but the CP remains the same. again, no hands on experience just what is said there.

Muffled sound when volume is too high
You know I was reading the topic itself. "muffled sound when volume is high" i had a almost dead on same problem with a component set in my doors. Would sound great even at full volume but maybe a minute into high volume it would act up, would sound as if a pillow was put over the top of them. I was told my amp was up too high, i turned it down and still had the problem. what I think my problem was is that my head unit had a ton of features and I had something turned up too high there, i set the deck to flat and problem went away. Just a thought.
