  1. first car audio related shit talkin ive seen.. i like it
  2. junk to me lol.. sounds horrible.
  3. where do you buy your MDF ? lol.. for a whole sheet at lowes its damn near $60 if i remember right
  4. oldskool, can you elaborate a bit? high power resistors? what are those and how do they work, also i can imagine what a tone generator is and would do.. but never seen one. Any links? im guessing power supply would be a battery
  5. If you decide to get the BTL make sure to let it break in before judging it.. when i first got mine i didnt know if it was right for me or not.. its 100X the system im used too.. damn thing kicks like crazy.. its output blew me away, but ALMOST in a bad way.. it wasnt pleasant to the ear at first.. then after it broke in i really fell in love. everything smoothed out for me.. but its one hell of a sub thats for sure.. an extra battery and HO alt would be best. I have 2 Kinetik HC2000's and a 220 A alternator to mine and only running a sundown saz1500, but it hits so hard. just my 2 cents for ya
  6. The ZR1 ... whata car desktop wallpaper right now :
  7. lmao.. wow
  8. i was always told to fuse to the wire. if the wire is capable of 250A then use a 250A fuse. I purchased a HO alt and fused it with a 250 (knukoncepts KLMX 1/0 rated at loads of 250A). I fuse anything and everything.. spent too much money on it to take the risk
  9. make sure you get a battery that wil fit in the battery tray unless you can modify it. I went out and bought 2 of the kinetik HC2000's thinkin I had a SUV and they would fit no problem.. WRONG. had to bend the hell out of my battery tray to get that sucker in there. Im not sure on the size of the D3100, but be sure to check that before you buy it.
  10. i got a saz1500d goin to my 18" BTL... damn thing packs a nice punch. would love the 3000d, but this 1500 blew me away when i first hooked it up. great amps.
  11. #8 is no way in hell my design, just took the image from here and put it on a template of a shirt.. but #4 thru #9 are mine (minus #8)
  12. i would like to state that although i put that shirt together. it was an already made design and if its not obvious i take no credit what so ever for it
  13. lol...95, your real smart bro.. but in no way possible have i wasted any time whatsover. i came here to find an answer, its something i didnt understand. All i needed was someone to come in here and shoot me an intelligent answer i could understand. Maybe i dont know how to use my voltmeter correctly.. maybe you should use some of your knowledge and write up one of those guides? Even though you seem to talk with the 'im smarter than you attitude" ill take what you have said and learn from it. appreciate the post.
  14. i got one already, the idea ran thru my mind.. but if i can control the ipod thru the deck that would be better.. plus im still searching it right now, but i would like it to charge the ipod too. had one of those 3.5mm wire's for along time, a 6ft one... its still an option at this point.. just dont really have anywhere i want to run the wire.. looks like garbage just hanging out under the dash.
  15. yea, i got an ipod also, found something while searching for the link to the cd player.. ipod adapter .. thinking i should buy this
  16. Since the recent install of my 18" BTL. When I have the windows more than half way up my deck skips real bad.. its a nice pioneer premier. Ill burn a new cd, go spin around for a few hours and my cd has scratch rings under it from the vibration lol.. anyone ever have this problem? what was your solution? Deck is a Pioneer Premier DEH-P780MP
  17. The dmm I used is an older one, but seems to be good, I'll try to get my hands on another soon. Thank you.
  18. This is how i did it.. turned the vehicle on.. unplugged the + and - wires from the sub. turned the volume up to about 3/4 with a 50hz test tone .. set the meter to ACV 200 and placed the positive and negative 'prongs' where the subwoofer was hooked to. How does it sound to my ear.. lol.. its lovely... its going to tear my Tahoe to shreds real soon.. thing i worry about is this is my first very high powered sub, I dont think im capable to knowing when im putting the sub in danger. Nothing sounds dirty yet to my ear, just dont want to risk hurting this thing. Not sure why i got such low voltage at the amplifier. I was expecting to match it around 38.7 and i get 2.8 - 5.x volts.. something has to be wrong. Just would like to understand.
  19. I'm lookin into the zapco 6.2 iforce I think there called. I know zapco makes better ones but those are too expensive at this point, not to mention I've never owned a single component set in my life. I'll get the cheaper till I know what I'm doin for sure. No way I'm spendin damn near $400 to experement with. I'll learn on the $160~ set
  20. hmmm zapco components.. used to be a huge fan of the old zapco stuff with all this ssa/fi/sundown/incriminator audio stuff ive had my eyes on i may have forgot about my old favorite how's the zapco components sound?
  21. yea i noticed it was down also that was where i went first. appreciate you looking. anyone else have experience with this and can help me id appreciate it.
  22. yes the sub was unplugged, i believe the deck is a 4v output.. but why am i getting that voltage? If thats all i have to match whats with the 38.7 thing?
  23. Im looking for a component set. with the addition of this 18" BTL its damn near impossible to hear high end over the bass this thing outputs.. I went to some stereo shops to see some products up close.. saw a set of the Fosgate power 6.5's.. has the driver, tweeter and crossover network.. price in store is crazy, but found the same set on the internet alot cheaper. Im concerned how they hook up as ive never had a pair of components before. Do you just use 1 channel of your amp per door.. Let me explain what i mean more.. go here My link see how the crossover box has 2 inputs and 2 outputs.. i just got done running all new wire to each door to a 4 ch amp.. will i have to consider another amp and run another set of wires into each door to use these? I thought they took 1 input and had the 2 outputs. Sorry for the noob question just my first time with components.
  24. Alright, read thru the pinned topic for this, seems easy enough..but im doing something wrong.. im usin an old school volt meter but it has "ACV 200 and ACV 500" .. i set it to ACV 200 (AC volts)..the amp is a Sundown SAZ1500D running at 1 ohm so... voltage = sqrt (1500 * 1) voltage = 38.72 ish.. can someone verify that please... so i pop in the 50hz test tone, loud off, bass boost off..volume to 3/4 and I stick the voltmeter to the outputs of the amp.. it tells me 2.8 and up to 5.something at full gain.. something is wrong just not sure what. appreciate any help.
