  1. Cell phones are responsible for the downturn in leadership and responsibility in today's society IMHO.
  2. Time to go grab a Dr. Pepper, hook up a LVDT on midspan on a concrete beam, wait for class to come in then break the thing.
  3. Its a 6,000lb 'offroad' forklift, thing only weighs about 14,000lb. *I was not welding the forks on the lift, I was welding tubes that the forks go in on a loading/lifting frame*
  4. Tired, sore, and as soon as this beer is done it is bed time.
  5. Anyone else watching the Victoria's Secret fashion show tomorrow?
  6. Its kind of odd to be welding and the thing just shut off. Look over and the little digital display for the voltage and wire feed says 'HLP 002' Never had a welder cry for help before.
  7. Not a bad way to make 60$ for welding this evening, then have a couple beers and just talk.
  8. Made a serious C-Clamp today at the shop that I need to get photos of. It has a 17" throat depth, 9" of clearance height wise. Made it out of 1"x3" 11ga (.120 wall) rectangular tubing, fish plated the joints, and TIG welded it. It is pretty friggin stout. Once that thing is done being used this week we are going to clamp it on something and torque the shit out of it to see how much we can get it to move.
  9. Spent 4hrs welding tonight, put a Millermatic 185 wire welder into temp shutoff, might have been welding a 'bit' past the 40% duty cycle... Welding on new tubes to a frame for weighing stuff. The guy got a new forklift with 6" forks rather than the 5" he use to have, tubes for the forks weren't big enough now. There is now some serious weld on that thing holding them forks on, gusset plates too.
  10. Eh, I've never seen Aaron post a direct recommendation to come here on SSA, seen it listed as a place of reference but nothing blatant that I've seen.
  11. Oh Snap!
  12. What'd you do to it?
  13. Cell phones are corporate america's way to annoy the crap out of me.
  14. Had to buy a new wall charger for my cell phone, old one crapped out on me. Doesn't help much that my battery will only last about 8-10hrs either.
  15. Werd.
  16. Yes. I am now running a DCX2496 in my car. I am on my laptop in the car, with the software open and adjusting it, while it is in the trunk.
  17. Pfft, yep.
  18. LOL, poor bastage probably got ripped off and is hoping some other idiot will go for it... If he is a peddler in the white van, bust the balls.
  19. Downloading music at the same time too... gotta love torrents.
  20. Working on homework...
  21. Take the two screws out and it should be able to lift off and rotate.
