  2. I Hate making cutting boards. Have one for mom that needs the final sanding that is out of Maple and Purple Heart and it was a serious pain in the ass.
  3. power brakes? who needs those Pfft, who needs brakes
  4. If you look around for used equipment you can find some pretty darn good deals, like Jim said, hit up Audiogon for what your looking for. As for rack amps, I'd reccomend QSC personally, I haven't found anything that I dislike about them yet, if you buy them used don't worry about them to much, they are almost bulletproof. What kind of space is there to work with for the speakers? Is size a restraint on speaker size or do you have enough room to run an Imperial Horn setup?
  5. That crossover would work, I had that one and I was never very fond of it though. You can find a RANE on ebay for the same price too, just be sure the crossover has a sub out. The ideal situation would be from a preamp to the crossover, then the crossover to the amp(s). You are going to need XLR cables for this setup as well.
  6. Facebook has turned into myspace.
  7. Don't sell chit. Go to garage sales, ask relatives, there is furniture all around sitting out on the curb man, go pick it up. When you get some extra money you can upgrade furniture.
  8. Get that voltage up.
  9. I haven't figured out how to ship anything that big and make sure it arrives in one piece either.
  10. Well, I do Not want to lug a 150lb+ box (without driver) up and down basement stairs, and I definetly do not want to have to be flipping it around in the woodshop while working on it. Anything in the woodshop that you want a chain hoist for is to f'ing heavy.
  11. Well, time to leave work, close enough to quitting time for me. No one has been here for 2+hrs and there isn't crap to do in the shop so I'm going home.
  12. Shoulda known you were going to link that... I might just have to try that though.
  13. You're the expert Sean, what would the most effective type of brace be?? I'm kinda leaning toward the picture frame style, or the same thing except with a big oval/circle cut out of the inside, space them about every 4-6", then put struts running horiz coupling them together so the braces themselves don't reasonate. I'm just guessing here though.
  14. 13 is on the conservative side, I'm not sure how big of a coffee table I want yet. I'm also a little curious as to how much I'm going to have to brace it so it dosen't vibrate any. It is going to be all birch and I want it as light as possible, but I'm not sure that is going to be very light.
  15. I can get upwards of 13 cubes gross out of a coffee table woofer box, it looks like I might go ported in the house. Now to only decide on a woofer... Choices are RL-P 18, Dual SSA ICON 15's, and a MAG 15"
  16. Heck I bet if you just used electrical tape pretty tight since it stretches it would work pretty well too.
  17. If you do get a hole in the surround, be it from a drill slipping or something all you have to do is put a thin smear of good quality silicon sealant over the hole/rip and let it cure for a couple hours before you start using the sub again and it should be good.
  18. It would be alot better if you would put a pice of harder rubber (old hose off of a car, slit the side and just stick it over it) with silicon on the pipe side, then put a hose clamp around the pipe/rubber patch so the hose clamp is taking the water pressure and not the silicon.

  21. Lame.
  22. Flash drives FTW?
  23. I remember one time Dad fixed a leaking manure hardline pressure hose (injecting manure into a field for one of the local dairys) with bailing wire, a pop can, and duct tape, and it held just fine.
  24. I like your ideas.
  25. You sure do like the smilie don't you Tom.
