Welcome to the IHoP
I screwed around in the wood shed for awhile, then realized I don't really know what the fudge I'm doing with these four dayton reference mids. I just kinda bought them on impulse, no real plan for them. I was thinking MTM's for the hell of it.

To me a tattoo is pointless unless it has a specific meaning behind it, a memory related to it or somethin. I personally am not to fond of the fairy, the shroom looks pretty good though.

I'm gonna go to sleep and have sweet dreams of line arrays. lol

Welcome to the IHoP
I do like the idea of not as many tweeters (but the ones that are implemented) at ear level though, most likely what I'll do is spread them out from sitting level to stand level. Maybe 4 per tower.

Welcome to the IHoP
I have never had the pleasure of hearing line arrays, I've wanted to make some for quite awhile now though. I think I've been pushed over the edge

Welcome to the IHoP
Now please enlighten me on one subject here. My understand of line arrays and planars, is that you need to have the planars the full height of the array. Why is this? Is it to create the desired dispersion over the full field or what? If this is necessary, when they start stacking, the price goes up ALOT. I really don't want to look at ~600 in planars right now... But if its necessary, I may have to think about it.

Welcome to the IHoP
*Thinks of line arrays about 6-7' tall in a dorm room*

Welcome to the IHoP
Yes, but I'm trying to keep this somewhat reasonable since I still have to pay the school a nice sum of money here pretty soon.
-
Welcome to the IHoP
But line arrays in a dorm room?? Now wouldn't that be the definition of overkill?
-
Welcome to the IHoP
I can get a case of NSB's for 100 bucks (32 drivers). Now if I could part with the money for the planars... http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=275-085

Welcome to the IHoP
Damn. This little voice in the back of my head keeps saying scrap the 3ways, go line arrays... I'm not sure If I'd have room for line arrays in a dorm though.

That was a long post... That took the better part of 45 min also. I didn't let the kid do to much, because, well, I was afraid he would slice his thumb off with the knife. It wasen't exactly the best way to use the exacto knife for untrained hands.
