  3. I love this video. One of the most epic quotes ever-"$439.95".
  4. Very nice.
  5. I'll probably get flamed for this question, but here goes. I'll be purchasing a new sub in July and am having some trouble making a decision. I had originally planned on using the current box I have (1.21 cubes sealed) and getting either a SA-12 or Level 3 12" (the cutout is only 11" and those two are about the only ones I've found that will fit). But I've been doing some thinking about it and have come up with another idea. Getting a cheaper sub like a 10" DCON or a SA-8, and getting a really nice ported box built for it (I'm thinking Argent Audio). I'd love to do a IA 187, but I don't know enought about what I'm doing to put 600 watts on a 300 watt sub. Either 12" would get 600 watts. The 10" or 8" would get 300. This is a daily driver and I listen to just about everything. Budget is around $300. This is going in a Saturn Vue, but I can't take up the entire back. I know I'm forgetting to include something, so let me know if there's any other info needed. Flame away.
  6. The SA-12 build quality is top notch, just havent heard any reviews sealed. Its these or DC level 3's These are the exact two I'm trying to decide between, if I stick with a 12".
  7. Very interested. I just wonder if two would be enough.
  8. Congrats. Kids change your life, and definitely for the better. I can't imagine what I'd do without my daughter. Oh, and my wife too.
  9. 2 12 inch subs in box
  10. I don't think there's many on here from the area, but if so, is anyone going? Event Calendar AutoSound Inc.
  11. Damn that looks painfull. Hope she gets better soon.
  12. Welcome back.
  13. Damnit, just when I've convinced myself to go smaller ya'll make me want to go bigger. Very sexy sub.
  14. Hope someone gets a video. I'm looking forward to seeing the results.
  15. I've been really listening all week, and maybe it's just me, but it still seems like something is amiss. It's not as noticable with the Shiva as is was with the Clarion, but it still seems like there is some loss of output. I think this weekend I'll unhook the bass knob and retune everything. Run it like that for a while and see if I notice anything.
  16. x2. I played all the games growing up, and still do on occasion so it's got a special place in my heart I wish they stuck to the games a little better sometimes though. I never played the games, but I've got a thing for zombie movies.
  17. If I had my SA-12 right now I would. Otherwise I'd be without bass until July (it's gonna be my birthday present to myself), and that would suck. It still doesn't make sense that I haven't had any problems with losing output ever since I put the Shiva in. With the Clarion it was a daily occurrence. Another thing is that the week before I installed the Shiva, whenever the Clarion would start acting up, I'd start messing around with the bass knob cable and it wouldn't fix the problem. I'd just have to wait, and sooner or later it would start performing like it should. Then it would start cutting out again. It's just strange that I haven't had a problem with it for a whole week, where as with the other sub is happened every single day. It really doesn't concern me too much since I haven't had any problems with the Shiva so far, but I had planned on selling the Clarion. If it is the sub I don't want to sell defective equipment, but I have no other use for it (other than taking up room in the closet).
  18. I've got a Shiva that I haven't used in over 5 years that I just installed in my vehicle. I forgot how loud this thing can get. One of my favorite subs ever. Back a few years ago I ran a pair of MKIV Shivas. I went to a local sound comp with them using a slot port box facing my rear in my 300zx. When it was my turn to get metered, I raised my hatch to reposition my box and the onlookers busted out laughing when they saw I was running "paper cone house speakers" As soon as the first burp came out and I hit a 147.8 with a 43hz tone everyone was silenced. I was the loudest person on the dash that day. I beat out 2 13w7's on 3000 watts, 3 10" L5's on 2000 watts, 3 memphis M3 15's on 3000 watts and a cut through truck with 4 3000spl pioneer 12's and 2000 watts. It's all about the install and box design, and the locals still don't understand that. Those were my first audio trophies. Later that night, I had my girl over at my house, and being the man/jackass that I am, I was telling her the whole story while I was shadowboxing, and kicked my trophies and broke one of them into pieces IMO shivas were great, they were like cheap JL w6's but better lol That's awesome. I always liked having an "unknown" sub, but I never really got a chance to show it off. Small town living, FTL.

  20. Now I'm wondering if it was in fact my sub (the Clarion). I installed my 5+ year old Adire Audio Shiva this past week (prefab box, FTL, but it was hella cheap). I pushed it pretty hard all week long and never once lost output, and the bass knob didn't have any problems adjusting the bass level. Weird and now I'm totally confused.
  21. Epic win?? lots of stereo items including many many speakers
  22. That's because Topeka has been going downhill as a whole for years. This is true. I'm so glad we decided not to move there.
