  1. Heard the black ones have more cooling, and a slightly larger gap for more power handiling.
  2. Anyone know why some MT motors are black and some chrome? Thanks.
  3. Oh yeah, don't forget those volt meters have to be dialed in as well. WHen you pop the cover off there is a set screw. Where ever you have the hot wire for the vm hooked to (amp, batt, etc.) you should take a dmm and get a voltage reading while at rest with radio on but vol at 0 and then just turn the dial on the vm up or down till it matches the dmm. Hope this helps.
  4. If your volt meter is on and the radio ain't, then that's your problem. Supposed to hook the remote wire from the vm into the remote for the amps so it only turns on with the system. If its hot wired then the vm itself will drain your batt.
  5. Can't wait to see this come together. Let me know if you need anything bro. TEAM UNDER PRESSURE 2011!
  6. I'd say atleast 30 mph.
  7. If you are in FL and looking to for shows to attend, I would suggest checking out the home page of floridaspl.com. There is an events calendar with alot of the upcoming events. We have a show at Hooters in Lakeland on the 12th of Feb. and then a cash payout Bass Race event at Tommy Mckinnie's shop, KOB Kustoms, in Seffner on the 27th of Feb. Come on out and check us out.
  8. Lookin good bruh. In for vids.
  9. Pretty stupid you don't even explain why. I'll do it for you. Reading > me. the site I went to ( http://www.maxxsonics.com/corporate/news_0107_Hif_MAXXLINK.html ) said nothing about having to use pairs of amps so I assumed you could use an odd number, but apparently you must use pairs of amps with it. http://www.hifonics.com/Hifonics_Maxxlink.html You got me wrong. I was face palming myself cause I thought I was wrong and you could strap 3 amps with the MaxxLink. That should explain my other post as well. lol
  10. Yeah, forgot about that. SO what ohm load would you shoot for. WHat would you strap at?
  11. Again this would depend on your goals. The Xcon is a SQ based driver that can get really loud and sound good doing it. The BTL is a SPL based driver that happens to work well in daily setups and sound good at the same time. Either one should be able to take an AQ2200 each in the proper enclosre and gains set correctly (clean signal). And don't forget the electrical to back the amps, atleast an HO Alt and a few group31 batts.
  12. You cannot strap 3 amps together. Only 2, master and slave. First off what are the coils on the subs? Do you have them already or is this still in the planning stage? My first suggestion would be to slow down and asses your goals for the system and what your wiilling to do to achieve them. Takes ALOT to support a 4K+ system. And if you have to ask questions like this, then you are probably not ready for one. Not bein a dick, just bein real.
  13. Make sure you have the electrical to properly back your amp, set the gains correctly, keep the signal clean, and know your systems signs of stress/ when to back off. Should be a nice setup. In for build log. Would suggest some pro audio for front stage to keep up with them subs. Couple sets of Selenium 6w4p 6" mid range and 2 ST350 super tweets ought to do the trick. I have 1 set of 6w4p and 1 set of Vifa 1" textile dome tweets on an AP3002 and it is suprisingly loud for what it is, but is crisp and clear at the same time.
  14. Sexy sub. Was going to get aset of those components last year but was persuaded to the dark side and got some Eminence 6a's. Good lookin comps, would like to still give them a try sometime. Mad props on building your own box. I am not carpentry inclined in any sense. So I let BassHeadsEnt.net take care of mine. In for vids. Checkout my build log if you get a chance. Thanks.
  15. This is gonna be completed over the next few weeks as money permits. As of now I have the front stage in and playing. Installed Now Kenwood KDC-X493 AP3002 2- Selenium 6w4p's (doors) 2- Vifa 1" Textile Dome Tweets (on caps wired with 6w4p's in doors) 2 - Sony Xplod Something or Other 6x9's (rear deck) 1 - Run of 2/0 from front to back 2/3- Big 3 done (will do alt-batt when I get the HO alt) DB Link 0 AWG 200 amp fuse after front batt 200 amp fuse in back (will be infront of rear batt when it is installed) Coming Soon 1- 2.8^3 @ 36Hz 3/4" Birch Bass Heads Ent. Box (already have) 1- Audiopipe AP18001D (already have, well kinda, currently resides at Value Pawn but will be redeemed soon) 1- Sub (Not at liberty to disclose this information at this time. Rest assured, Epicness will be reached.) 1- 100ah Batt for trunk 1- Maniac Electric Motors 140 amp HO Alt (Don't hate, it's all I can afford, lol) Just got done installing and tuning the front stage, and I must say, this is the best I have EVER made anything sound in my life. I am very proud of this setup/install and will be at the Tampa show Sunday if anyone wants to hear it. Pic/Vids will be up as soon as I have access to a camera. If all goes well, install should be complete for the KOB show in Feb. Side Note- Ordered full Motor/Tranny Mount set today. Should be here early next week at the latest and will be installed upon arrival. Once this is complete, car should be in good shape for a while. Will update thread as more work is complete. Thanks. Shout out to Robin and Bass Heads Ent. for the awsome enclosure! This guy DOES WORK! Shout out to Chuck for the Vifa's! Shout out to Big D for the Seleniums!
  16. Fuckin Awsome Mr. Kirby. This gonna be at the Tampa show this weekend? Heard the Icons and they where effin slammin, can't imagine the damage them new ones are inflicting.
  17. Should be fine, just set gains correctly and keep the box down to ~1.6-1.75 per sub with that much power if your going ported.
  18. Glad to see it coming together. Seen this and thought I'd share. http://www.floridaspl.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13373&highlight=rival904
  19. Bout to grab a mint PLW12D2 for my brother-in-law's next build. Awsome subs for the money, shame they discontinued them. FLAstrongman on FloridaSPL is hittin 150 on the dash, door open at 37Hz with 2 of the WD12's and an Audiopipe AQX3500.1 at .5. Solid ass amp for $420. Most likely will be the next amp I buy.
  20. Sup bro. Glad to hear your reppin Tampa/Orlando with the subs! I'm bout to pick up a 92 2d Hoe and grab BigBoi's box and 2 15's (already have his old AP18001d for power). Should be gettin down with T.U.P. myself real soon. Look forward to meeting you and seein this build come to life! BTW, 4th order FTMFW! And don't feel bad, I change my mind about equipment on a daily basis, lol.
  21. 2 that I have been lookin at for my 18 year old bro-in-laws grad present. More budget friendly. CADENCE ZRS-C8 Hifonics Zeus ZXI60.4+1K Really diggin the HiFonics. Alot of people talk shit but the ZXi1006 I had was clean and powerful.
  22. Awsome vid as always Twisted. Lookin to do BIG things in 2011 as well. Just feels like our year. Lookout for a 2 door Tahoe later this year. Gonna be a slow start, but yall hang in there and I promise somethin pretty big by 2012. Sucks that the truck has a solid ass 2x4 reinforced, unused 38 cube shell in it that I have to tear out cause it will be the only family vehicle for a while so need the back seat for the chilrens. Look forward to big things from HZ Addiction this year.
  23. The AP15001D's are out of stock apparently (never hurt to have head room), but these are in stock and are solid 1K budget amps. I have used the AP15001D, and now own an AP18001D and AP3002 2 ch and love them. This site is legit so 1 year manufacturer's warranty. Personally for a HDC3 I would go for an AP15001D atleast, but an AP18001D would be better and still only around $190 shipped. The HDC3 subs will handle ~2400-2600 rms of clean power. DJ rates them at 1K so noobs don't fry em. Hope this helps. I know a little about buildin systems on a budget, lol. BALLIN ON A BUDGET FTW! http://vminnovations.com/product_5568/AUDIOPIPE_AP10001D_1000W_MONO_Power_Amplifier.html My AP15001D on 2 IA Leathal Injection 12's in 3.4^ @ 32Hz box by iamamp3pimp: Edit: Forgot, yes true 4 awg wire is fine for 1500 rms. My 1800 has 4 awg terminals and it does rated.
