Yeah, I was introduced to that smell yesterday, lol. I have backed off a little on the gain and the volume knob. Hopin after some break in I can bump them back up a lil.

Yeah, I got mine pretty damn hot today lol. I had my amp gain set between 1/4 and 1/2 and backed it down a cooter hair till they break in a little more. I don't care what sub you have, there is no mistaking that smell, lol.

Still runnin XP, lol. It is what they train us on at DeVry and personally I just prefer it. XP works great and has never really given me any problems, so why change?

Yeah man, these subs surprised the hell outa me. It's hard to believe they are only one step up from their entry level series. It's nice that all their subs are already badassified. I wouldn't hesitate to put 1K to each daily. I am very happy I traded my 1 AA Chaos 15 for these two brand new subs, lol. Definitely a trade up. These are the best sounding subs I have ever owned.

Gonna have to get this head swapped out before I drop a valve or something. I keep floatin a valve in the number 4 cylinder and at high rpm it's kissin the sparkplug and closing the gap killin the cylinder. Took me a long time to figure out why I kept havin random miss fire, lol. And now the catylitic converter is shot from all the raw fuel bein dumped into. Oh well, when it rains it pours I suppose.

The AP15001D runs 950 RMS @ 2 ohms for $157 shipped. Same amp I run, and I love it. Good clean power at an awsome price. Would also leave plenty of head room for system expansion as it will drop to 1 ohm for 1500 RMS. So you could add a second sub in the future if you choose. Would also leave some cash in your pocket. My first IA subs and I'm lovin them. All equipment is listed in my sig. 142.5 @ 40Hz sealed up on the dash, with only 2 days break in time. Best sounding subs I have ever owned hands down. I have been missing so much on the low end. The Bassorcist song in the first vid drops around 26Hz and sounds amazing. You guys have a new customer for life!Can't wait till next year when I step up to 2 Death Penalty 12" on an AP30001D!

Glad you had a safe trip and a good time. I'm 2 1/2 hours from Daytona in Tampa, and couldn't make it FTL! Oh well, next year for sure. Already have vacation request in for that week, lol. Nothing like a head start. Hope to be competing by then also.

Sundown is top of the line quality. Great amps. And a hell of a deal at close out price. The 50.4 probably does closer to 70 or 80 by 4 as most Sundowns are underrated. I think this would be an excellent choice for your application.

My experience has been that the AP15001D is a TANK! Very stout and strong amp. Puts out good clean power. I love it. I'm sure he will like it also.

I spy an Audiopipe box there. Is this what you are powering the subs with, AP15001D maybe? If so, please let us know how they sound. I will be dropping my 2 brand new IA Leathal Injection 12s in next week and will be running them off my AP15001D. Box will be around 3.6^3 tuned around 30-32 Hz. These subs are BEASTS! They look more like 1500 watt rms subs rather than 600 watt rms, imo. Can't wait for my box to be done. Beautiful craftmanship on that box and nice job squeezing it in there. Looked like a tight fit. Can't wait to see some vids of this thing in action. Thanks.

OK, first problem I see is OP stated the subs are D2. So with two subs he will either have a .5 ohm final load or 2 ohm final load. We need to find out how his subs are wired and what ohm these amps make their power at. Sounds to me like the original Kenwood was a 2 channel amp that he was bridging at 2 ohms and that is why it was getting hot and going into protect. He most likely would have been fine with this amp if he would have wired each sub at 4 ohms and given them a dedicated channel. Just my $.02.

The AP30001D is an Audiopipe, great budget amps, but they make their power at 2 ohms because it is actually 2 AP15001Ds strapped in the same case. So, your sub would have to be a dual 1 ohm or dual 4 ohm to use the amps full potential. I would suggest the MB Quart DSC2000.1D.
