Wanting to upgrade
If this is a budget-minded setup and you plan on running more power, make sure you have money in your budget for electrical upgrades. Also, what do you want to change about your current setup? What did you not like about it?

Wisconsin Competitions
they are hard to find, just found a website that may help you in the future. USACi Midwest - Sound Off Competitions for the midwest it seems to be just Wisconsin Yeah, I know this site... They just haven't updated the competition dates yet: they are all from 2009.

Running .67
With the 2000d it will be maybe 1200 watts more at .67 with D4s than 1.3 with D2s, so even if it isn't audible I would hope that it will make a difference on the meter, (comp setup I hope). I'm beefing up the electrical before I move up to the larger amp, but with only the big 3, my car is handling the 1000d like a champ. Thanks for the help so far everyone! If anyone else has any experiences with a scenario like this feel free to chime in!

Running .67
Is it o.k. to run a .67 load on one of the SAZ models? I am currently feelin' around the forum to find out what I want to do with my sub stage and might do three SA-8s. Before I get too carried away, I wanted to make sure that it would be safe to run 3 D4 SA-8s off of an SAZ model amp, (currently the 1000D but beefing up to a used 2000D in the future for comps and such). I suppose the second question would then be: As long as I keep the box small and watch the volume knob when I'm daily driving, would it be safe to run the afore-mentioned subs off an SAZ-2000D? I don't know for certain, but wouldn't that be 3000 watts-ish? Thanks for any help in advance P.S. I didn't ask Jacob directly cause I know he is busy and figured he could use a break from my dumb questions. I was told by him in an earlier email that I could run an SAZ at .7, but is it O.K. just a little lower? I guess I will find out...

Worst Movie You've Ever Seen
Sssssssshhh! That's my girlfriend's favorite movie! lol! I'd have rather gone to the doctor's for a colonoscopy than to the movies when that came out!

Worst Movie You've Ever Seen
I actually kinda liked that one... Worst movie ever, (that was made in the last 10 years): Megalodon. It's about a giant prehistoric shark, which sounds really gnarly, but IS NOT! Worst movie ever, (all time), actually won an award for worst movie ever: Plan 9 From Outer Space. Made in the 40's I think, with all the old horror stars like the OG Vanapira and Tor Johnson. Hilariously terrible movie; cardboard sets and boom mics in some of the shots and everything else that could be bad.

Fi Q, Fi SSD, FI Bl
Make sure to save your money and wait until you have the cash for the goods, (not saying you won't). Get yourself a Grade A sub and amp, and you'll be happy you did. In the mean time, if SPL you seek, build a bigger ported box.

Fi Q, Fi SSD, FI Bl
Firing up means the sub's cone faces upward.

I think there is actually one scheduled on the USACI site in MN... Your dad used to take you? That's cool that audio is in the family.

Change of sub
Oh, now I see what you are saying KU40: Power output should double as impedance halves for any amp worth its salt. Sorry about that.

Change of sub
Ummmm... What amp? Didn't say anything about the amp... Suppose I should have been more specific about the dual 1 or dual 2 thing. Apparently, the coils are 1.4 (or at least read like that), and I was wondering if it would be safe to run one of the Sundown models, (2000 or 2500 if I got the $), at .7? I am told that they are stable at .5 but it is not covered under warranty... I guess what I really am asking is if any of these options are "best" for an SPL application. I understand, it is all install dependent, but does anyone have any specific feedback on any of these options? Being the cheap prick that I am, I guess that I would go with whatever costs the least and will easily measure up with these other options. As far as the recone goes for the Fi, I have sent an email and am waiting on a reply. This was a few days ago, but they are busy people, so in the mean time, does anyone have any idea what the cost might be close to? A close estimate perhaps? Thanks again

Change of sub
Currently own 1 Fi BL 15 and I have been looking into competing. I have been doing some reading and a common limitation for the lowest power class in USACI, (1-600watts at 4 ohms? best I could find: stock 1, street beat 1, etc.) is one 12", two 10" or 3 8". Feel free to correct me and my stupidity any time! If I was looking to compete in said class(es), one 12 seems to be the cheapest route, so here are the options I have found for my budget, (whatever I can get for my BL + less than $100) 1: Used DC level 4 XL, (dual one) for ~ $290 (should I turn into dual 2? is that possible?) 2: Just the motor of the level 4 XL (send it into PSI or something and get it rebuilt?) $225 3: Send BL into Fi and have them turn it into a 12? (it's already fully loaded) $??? (have not answered email) 4: Jacob, (sundownz), was rebuilding T3 TSS subs for a little bit and I talked to him about it. I don't know if he still is, but would this be a viable option? $250 Let me know if you need more info and/or if I am a complete dumbarse. Thanks

Good match up or not
Hey, if he wants more room, sell one type r, keep the other and the money! But if he keeps both, I gotta ask, is that 1.5-2 cuft per sub?

It can be pretty cold in April, but it can be pretty warm too... How cold is too cold? Either way, they were talking about indoor parking, perhaps a partly indoor event? I don't know jack about SQ, and I'm pretty limited SPL knowledge-wise as well... Come to think of it, I'm pretty dang audio retarded, so how cold is too cold for such an event?

Wisconsin Competitions
I know that there is a competition section in the forum, but I figured I might get more views in here... Mods, if you want to move this I totally understand. I have been on the USACI midwest site a bunch, and tried to google "WI spl competition" and such, but have had no such luck finding future competitions that I might attend and learn at. I am looking to try my hand at competition in the future, and what better way than to go and check 'em out? Problem is, the only thing I can find is scheduled events for last year and results from other past competitions. Can anyone help me out with a link or something? I promise I am not being lazy, I just cannot find anything. Perhaps I am using the wrong search words, but if I am, then I guess I don't know what the right ones are lol! Thanks
