  1. "Get away with" meaning you won't be as likely to encounter port noise, but it still won't be optimal.
  2. The only sticker you need is an alarm sticker and my personal favorite bumper sticker: "Mafia Staff Car: Keepa You Hands Off"
  3. Crappy time, but at least you lucked out and now have a great story! I don't want to share, other than to say I have yet to be to a trucking company establishment and drive away unharmed, unarmed, and in the front seat.
  4. Luckily for the fool, there's the BBB.
  5. Be an acoustical engineer and design concert halls, (or perhaps the perfect SPL vehicle?)! lol Physics is the way to start if you want to design speakers.
  6. Last time I bought wire, I got 1/0 welding cable from a local supplier, but it ended up being so expensive that I would have actually saved money buying from knu. No complaints with the wire at all, but online is way cheaper. If you can get the stuff cheap, go for it, welding cable is tough as nails from what I've seen. Just figured I'd throw it in there; good luck!
  7. CBs are for semis. lol Circuit breakers are for houses. My physics teacher told me that circuit breakers may not be as sensitive as fuse, (like a circuit breaker rated for 50A may not blow where a 50A fuse might), but I'm not sure why that is or if it is valid in vehicles, as he was talking about home-related stuff. I used a 50A trolling motor circuit breaker instead of a fuse in my first system. It never blew, but I never had any problems either.

I sure hope it doesn't come with the nasty hard plastic back seats. lol
  9. This is true, but I have read that a good way to get an idea of your vehicle's resonant freq. at the current temperature and available airspace is to take a 10" sub in a sealed box of 1 cuft and play test tones with said setup, monitoring the SPL levels at each frequency. Apparently, the loudest frequency is the resonant frequency of the vehicle. Is this an accurate test? Is there any accurate test? (Assume that the word "accurate" is being used in the loosest sense, and that accuracy can be within a few Hz of the actual resonant frequency at the time).
  10. what's the sensitivity on all three drivers?
  11. I'm very interested to see how this turns out. If anyone was to purchase a pair of these, how would they preform a fair and unbaised test of the speaker's preformance?
  12. Me likey... Me keep watching...
  13. Coolio! What's going on it; carpet, paint, bedliner, or just bare?
  14. You sir, are an inspiration to "just go for it." Great Job!
  15. It's real purdy
  16. Not much new?
  17. I'm assuming this is an SPL only build and you don't have a random 10" laying around...
  18. I guess I would see how much it is to repair it. Even if you decide you don't want it anyway, at least the repair might be cheap enough that you could sell the amp for more than the repair.
  19. Like 5 more posts before I posted... Last time I use a flipping cellphone.
  20. Because the alpine is only two ohm stable. I think they have a set subsonic filter but its set to like 15 Hz so its practically worthless
  21. Wow... I never thought this would go this fast.... You really put in work! A month ago I saw this and was like, "oh, I'll check back in a while; two 18s is gonna take awhile..." Holy chit! Great job! I'm on the watch now...
  22. Designing and building your own boxes is really fun; take a crack at it! Everyone on here would be more than happy to check your calcs and whatnot. Good luck!
