  1. Here's the 3rd box. T-line needs closed up, sub holes and port hole. Not bad for 2 hrs work though. I ran the float charger on the 2 yellow tops today too.
  2. The t-line is tuned to 30. 2-8's @ 2 ohm load SAZ 1500 = approx 945 watts or 145 over rms. I purchased the following: 1 set of dual one of quad RCA's Knu Krystal 1 3/4 grommet for the firewall 150 ft of 16 gauge knu speaker wire 100 ft of remote power wire from knu as well. Stock positive has a 80 amp fuse on it stock Stinger 80 amp fuse block for replacement of stock. 4 x-scorpion battery terminals 2 of the big 3 are completed I did all of the grounds in 0 gauge I got another 8" so I don't know what I'll end up running. Most likely 3 8's; however, with the recommended enclosure sizing from .6 to 1 cube I still have the option to just cut another hole in most of my designs leaving .75 cubes each . I have began shopping for a used 4 channel amp and think I found a zed designed crossfire 4x100 for 50 dollars. Why is it that in system installs there always seem to be 3 more things to purchase?
  3. Hey Grandpa wants to know why his mattress pad is 12" shorter than it use to be.
  4. I see you didn't vote I'd like to know where you draw the line.
  5. I doubt junior knows what "Jumping the Shark" is either. I know where I stand. I like to stay around 1500 ish for daily but definitely like the option to strap amps if I feel like it. uhmm but this begs to question for a poll on comps and their power consumption vrs return too.
  6. Granted there are 2 types of consumption even in comp there are definite demarcations to power limits. With the introduction of 3k, 4.5k, 10k and strap-able options where does a person draw the line which is akin to Jumping the Shark?

  8. For those whom only run front components; I'd like you to answer 2 questions. 1st Do you ever ride in the back seat? 2 Did you enjoy your seating position and the music quality from that either the right or left side?
  9. I have kids your age if they whined like you I'd make them wait longer. Respect and patience goes along way. There is a lot of knowledge here if you would use both your ears instead of your mouth you would learn something. Don't bother arguing back your on my ignore list.
  10. More important is the SAZ is can be linked. For me this is a deciding factor. I have 2 cars and soon to be 2 amps if I ever get the hankering I can move one with ease. Double the power.
  11. So what class would Jacob fall into with the magic box?

The Owl wasn't wise until he read the book and found the key to the heart
  13. So have you conduced any testing on solder? I'm going to use 8awg power wire knu has got it cheep and would like to limit the connections as much as posiable. using your data from above 3 dual speakers would be 12 times. Your data beggs to question: What the results would be under a load? What the results would be using lugs on one end? What the results would be using bolt through box terminals?
  14. I would have thought closer to 55. What's your goal?
  15. Afterwards I guess bassahaulic handles her paperwork. It's a dirty job but he likes it.
  16. In one of my intro threads I remarked it was like an old addiction. Seems as of late well for over 13 years I've mended my ways and laid down my desires for my family. What started as just a small system has resurrected the monster. I have a few goals intended for this system they are: 1. Create a clean install which is removable with minimum effort. After all this is our family car. 2. Target db level 145 3. Modular design to accept several boxes and yet remain SANITARY in installation. 4. Kid proof Covers to prevent kids from dropping stuff in ports (one reason the passive radiator is one of the designs) 5. Design for double the electrical draw. On hand purchased items: 1. Honda Fit 2. 2 Optima Yellow top Batteries (one in the engine bay, one below box. 3. 40ft of Knu Flex 0 gauge cable a. I've made all of the cables just need to install b. 3 ground straps * 2 body , 1 engine c. Positive 2 cables * Alt to Battery, Battery to 180 amp fuse knu koncepz the nice one d. note on all the lugs I used the normal boot but then also heat shrink 4. XScorpion 3 way lug terminals 5. Kicker dual ground luge for rear of car. 6. Sundown SAZ 1500 7. 3 8" Sundown SA-8's Dual 2 (actual is 1.63 approx for a final ohm load of 1.08) 8. One box made for 2 8's in case I want to run @ .5 * 2 cubic ft slot ported to 33 * this box is finished needs speaker hole cut and subs to arrive. * finished is textured satin black. * all inside corners 1/2 round 9 Second box for 3 SA 8's *3 cubic ft dual slot ports tuned to 40 *Box needs closed and subs * Dimensions for modular set. 10 Third box (Not Completed) *3 cubes truncated prism 3 SA 8's and a 15" PR 11 Forth Box Designed completed * T-line for 2 8's 12 Fifth box 3 cubes tuned to 30 hz Kerfed port Design completed Items needed to complete install. Subs paid for just not here Install big 3 Install processor and run RCA's Order nice RCA's Sound Deadener most likely SDS tiles and foam. This car has horrible road noise currently. At this point I will evaluate the front stage most likely I will finish it out with Sundown and Jl audio. An overview of design concept is as follows. In the Fit the back seat leans back from vertical approx 8-10" the wife agreed I could have from the back of the seat vertically 11". Therefore, most of the designs are narrow boxes which are 35- 36 inches in length. average depth is 16". The amp rack will support the boxes which will be drop in style and secured down with tie straps NOT okie joe duct tape they will be secure and undetectable as removable. This should give me a triangle in front of the box 10 x 16 to lay a battery or 2 on their sides and mount the amp. The seats fold down for access and there are tie down luggs factory in the same area. Well that's it in concept. Any comments or pointers are appreciated. Soapbox Processor: either Audio control LC6i or 3sixty (I'm trying to cut corners here and find an e-bay steel)
  17. You dont have to break your back to get one. Honest.
  18. Congrats, it looks like you've rounded third base. SWEET
  19. Here's some good reading links posted that don't sound like guesses. Keep in mind the current draw for the ohm load. It out lines every thing clearly. One note is the testing was for burps not daily music. I'm not sure if any of the posters prior to me even have the amp in question. With that said, I haven't finished my installation so I can't even give my experience yet; however, I have read every thing I could find for my build. Read the saz 1500 post and view all of the videos on the below links. These will give you the basic knowledge to answer your question. 20. So it says February would that be beginning or latter of the month?
  21. After all of my reading. I knew I had read most of the pile. But then Jacob pointed me this direction. Thanks. The Aveo and the Fit are in the same sub compact class. No worries. Soapbox
  22. I doubt Jacob measured, so just take the cone body diameter plus 1/3 the width of the surround. Dude take time to read prior to commenting. Mr. Obvious, that is what I have been estimating. Since no one but Jacob knows I doubt it would be a problem to measure for a paying customer. I have little patience for disrespectful people. At the present time I have several enclosures in the design and building phase and I don't want to waste either my time or Jacobs.
  23. Jacob I have been estimating the SD for renderings. What is the SD? So I'm not spinning my wheels. Thx
