  1. I presume no shipping warranty? Pictures of the damage?
  2. Аfter half a day of soldering and heatshrink, my HU no longer shuts off while cranking. $1.35 for two relays + left over wire. Cheap fix for an annoying problem.
  3. Got me some snow. Handbrake fun.
  4. What do you guys prefer when it comes to a steering wheel cover material? I like leather as it glides nicely when for instance you have to straiten the car after a corner and so on. Open to ideas tho.
  5. And what about the deadspot in between? Your key doesn't go from ACC to Key infinitely fast. In reality that is exactly what it is doing now stock. Of course bypassing the rest of the car may make it fast enough so that it works. I was giving the foolproof solution. If cost is truly an issue just build your own delay circuit. Guaranteed that will work. There is no dead spot. OFF-ACC-ON-START They HU works on ACC and ON. It only shuts of at Start. But on ON and Start I have power on the ignition wire. So the only time it won't see power will be on off which is perfect.
  6. Paint Top
  7. And I only found normal 1 circuit relays. I looked for one with a delay which would have been perfect. Didn't find a delay circuit too.
  8. I can get two relays for 10 times less the price.
  9. Why so happy about it Teo? 69
  10. Relay and a delay circuit will work. Actually I will need two "1 circuit" relays - one will give out 12V when it sees ACC voltage, the other give out 12V when it sees ignition wire voltage. Only one. Power can be run in parallel. Then the ACC will give the igniting wire 12 volt while the car is off. Which is not good.
  11. IHoP, why so gay today?

  13. Found the ignition wire. Here's the problem tho. If I wire it on any of the the positive leads on the HU(one that has constant 12 for the memory and the ACC one that has 12 when the key is on ACC) it's not good, because the ignition will be on all the time if the key is on ACC. While typing I thought of an idea tho. I remember there as a "thingy" that can past current only in one direction. Wire it to the ignition wire and connect it to the ACC of the HU. This way while the key is on ACC it won't send 12V to the ignition wire, but it will work the other way around. Another idea will be a relay that is hooked to the ACC. If it sees voltage it opens a circuit directly from the battery. When you crank it the voltage goes away, so there must be a small delay to the closing of the direct battery circuit. Guess I am going shopping.
  14. I didn't mean it in the sense of a Kicker 5 OMGWTFBBQSauce Farad Cap. But if you really needed to keep your HU on during start up it may be a way to smooth the voltage I need a source that provides no voltage unless I am cranking. A cap won't work.
  15. "Flight" - amazing movie
  16. If I cared about politics, maybe. Phill is a cool guy indeed.
  17. Interesting, I couldn't disagree more. This is the first leftover meal I've eaten in months. I abhor leftovers. Normally they get frozen and my wife eats them at work or when I am traveling. *exception are raw ingredient leftovers like tomatoes cooked down into sauce, stock, etc... Meats off the egg put in the frige for another time always offer more flavor to what ever they are with. Maybe your fridge is just infused with bacon scent.
  18. Toyota Celica 6th gen Ignition wire is blue with an orange stripe in the ignition harness Maybe I am looking at a different wiring diagram. Says black and orange, but whatever. Anyway. I check with my voltmeter to be sure which one is it, then I connect it to the ACC wire and I am done? Just making sure.
  19. Enjoying a 4 day weekend.
  20. Reading OP's post I did not imagined he had the amplifier on another subwoofer and he simply reconnected the wires when he got the E12, without any adjustments to the settings. But after you mentioned it, that might have been the case, tho he pointed out he has done some settings. With my -1, I though you suggested a new subwoofer and box(basically ditch whatever he has now and invest even more $). My bad.
