  1. I want to see how this stacks up against the sax100.4 The thing is so tiny though which is nice if you need space. But I don't really care about space lol. But still the thing looks nice.
  2. I love threads like this... I do learn a lot. and then I go research and learn even more. ie google t/s parameters and what it really means and can do google Infinite Baffle. what is it and why is it done then compare that to what people say. But yea I swear everyday I learn something new. It is like going to school when I read this forum haha. I like it though so I don't look like an idiot.
  3. if you really dont want to help give me a suggestion then why even bother replying to me man i get what you are saying %100. maybe you did ask ask question that has been asked and asked over and over, that doesn't require some one to reply to you being a prick.... there is not a rule that says these guys has to reply to every post made. i have read all 80something pages and i didn't reply to %95 of them. if i read something i dont agree with or think is dumd guess what...... i didn't reply! so if you are reading this and dont like it go to the next thread . dont waste your time typing and my time reading!!!! i have heard you say a couple of times what you are looking for and to me it is as simple of a question you can get...... you are looking for suggestions for some good speakers..... like TREO engineering, infinity, mb quart, focal ect, ect, without breaking the bank.. best bang for your buck. You don't get it do you. What we are trying to do is teach people to read the noob posting rules. Which apparently you haven't read. If we didn't have all these countless threads, then HEY maybe the search function would be a lot better than finding these dead end threads. If we didn't post on here and ignore 95% of the posts as you do without saying something, then there would be 2000000 more posts of WHICH COMPONENTS WILL ROX MY SOX OFF! Its just a little lesson so that we can have good threads like m5 said. Honestly most of the time people are just lazy and don't wanna search (im guilty of this) and we gave him the best option. Go listen. end this thread before peoples feelings get hurt plz.
  4. deathcloud replied to 07_ZX10's topic in Sundown Audio
You have 2 ohm speakers? what do you got? Most speakers I thought were 4 ohms....
  5. im not upset it just seams like every post i read that he reply's to he comes off kinda rude. so ive kinda have stuck with that . im sorry for posting again the same comment there is just soooo many post just a lot to read . ill try to find what im looking for next time before i post something else again . have you ever heard of digital design ? Yea I have heard of them being good SPL subs. But I don't know about component speakers. I would go listen to speakers at a high end car audio place. I am sure they have something around you. That is seriously the best way to get the idea of what you like/want. For all we know you would like metal dome tweeters versus silk dome cuz your ears like it and it isn't that harsh for you. So again the best thing is to go listen. I don't want someone telling you something THEY like because you might not like it and not be satisfied. You want to get something that your going to be happy with for along time versus doing what I did and go through 4 component speakers and I coulda saved all that money and bought a 800 dollar component set haha.
  6. Easy bro. Hes just saying literally there has been 30 topics about this. It gets kind of annoying. If you search this forum you can find probably 1000 topics about which components people have and like. He is not being an a hole or rude, he is just saying we do have a search option and you can find plenty of threads that have went over this discussion. I am getting to the point if I read another one of these threads.... hope you understand. ps. let me know how yours turns out cuz I am getting that 4 channel amp soon. I have phoenix gold components. They are a great bang for the buck.
  7. I am sure if you search around for a bit you might actually find some deals. But yea I would deff wait and get the 50.4 sundown. I am tryin to wait and snipe a good deal on a used sax 100.4 I just love sundown amps. Built really well. Trust me I learned the hard way. 500 dollar hard way of repairing amps. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!
  8. That seems like a lot. I think 100-125 is kind of the average. 200 seems like a ton of power and might risk blowing the speakers. I am sure you will be happy off of 100 watts for sure.
  9. My plans for 2010.... Install SSD Icon 12inch sub. Building my first box ever. Excited. Going to be 2.25 cuft ported and tuned to 32hz. Should be fun. Powering it by a SAZ-1000D or SAE-1200 which ever I get for a good deal. Will be searching buy/sell for those amps. Next I plan on getting a SAX-100.4 to power my front/rear speakers. Then going to get Second Skin to do my whole car in deadener. After all this, I think I need to get a second battery in the trunk to make sure everything is running optimal. AFTER ALL THIS, I will be done. Finally.
  10. ok good. Yea I think I should save up and do the big 3 upgrade. It isn't that expensive I just am lazy and don't wanna go underneath and do all the shit. But I will have about 1200 watts plus my 4 channel which will be about 400 watts or more so thats a total of 1600 watts. I am worried that I will have to get another battery in the trunk but I want to have my system to be perfect and I won't have to worry about shit dying or breaking. So if I were you do some research. Just to make sure.
  11. Yea I am sure he photoshopped those numbers hahaha. I wanna see the thing in action though. Excursion! But that is a lot of power to it. I can't wait to see it put in other peoples cars and how they like it. I am ready for multiple reviews from users!
  12. that sounds like a good install. I really wanted to try those ID ctx65cs speakers out. But I just don't have any justification unless my current set up blows. But yea looks like it is going to be a a good set-up. Now just make sure your box is fully built to spec and is just perfect. Then you should deff be fully satisfied. I have heard good things about the ID subs as well. That was a steal though. 100 a piece? No way.... And you will be at about 900 rms with both of those and have a little headroom as well. How is your electrical system? Will it be able to fully accommodate the system you plan on putting in? Big 3?
  13. Umm well here is a question... what if you buy your music off of itunes? Are you screwed then? Cuz I know that they are all done in 256kb bit rate or whatever. But will there be a big difference between 256 and 320? or will I not notice it at all. I know if I do get a CD I burn it to the largest bit rate. But now I just download off of itunes.... iphone for life.
  14. Thats what sucks. I want to go active. But I am too scared to try it. I think I am very limited to what I can do because the deck I got isn't anything extravagant or expensive. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-7aeK1t95Ph8/p_113KDCX592/Kenwood-Excelon-KDC-X592.html so does this mean I can't run active set up? That I have to buy one of those decks listed? Or does that mean I have to get an external crossover or something... god going active is so confusing. I'm just gunna stick to passive. haha. In theory it looks easy and not that bad when people talk about it but I just don't think I have all the necessary equipment. Or I guess patience. However I want to try it out and just run my rear speakers off of my deck. But I think all I would have to do is in theory set the high pass filter at 80 hz and it would play on my mid 80hz and above. Then on the tweeter set it to 2khz and above? And see if it sounds good?
  15. dammn i love watchin those kind of vids. Thats some crazy stuff there. I think that would be too much for me though haha. I so want a sax 100.4 now. That shit sounded so loud!
  16. Yea see I swear I heard it form somewhere exactly what KU40 said.
  17. damn there is one on the bay for 40 bucks. And you just need to get the clips for it or probes. I am tempted to get it... http://cgi.ebay.com/TRIPLETT-Professional-Series-Clamp-On-Meter-model-9320_W0QQitemZ160346366252QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item255563612c#ht_2629wt_914 sweet deal.
  18. I remember people saying that with an oval speaker you don't get the best sound versus going with a round 6.5 speaker. Honestly I would stick to the pg rsd65cs component speakers. It is what I have and they sound great with about only 75rms on them. I am getting a bigger 4 channel amp to get about 125 rms to them. And the crazy thing is I haven't even began to do any deadening to the car at all. Once I get serious and deaden the door and also the whole car I can't wait to hear them. People in any forum can say if you properly deaden you will be amazed at the difference. I am excited to get it done.
  19. I think you mean this : http://www.professionalequipment.com/fluke-289-fvf-true-rms-industrial-logging-multimeter-flukeview-forms-combo-kit-fluke-289-fvf-3036206/fluke-multimeters-testers/
  20. Wow beautiful amp. That thing is gunna be soooo sweet. If only I ever needed that much power. Hahaha. :drink40: :drink40:
  21. Wow that RF 3sixty.2 looks crazy! Now that is some fine tuning. I would be so lost if I bought one of those. And for 600 bucks that better make your car sound amazing....
  22. Man that subwoofer looks great. I can tell u this the pictures don't do justice seeing the sub in person. I know when I saw my icon in person I was like OMGGGG this thing is huge! and heavy! I couldint imagine what that xcon looks like or even feels like!
  23. Wait a minute. Everyone says using a DMM is the smartest thing to do. Clipping is when your pushing the amp more than its capable right? Well when I do 60hz test tone is used. Then you put it 3/4 volume. U then do the formula to set the right wattage to the amps capabilities. So lets say you have a 1000 watt amp. Running at 2 ohms. You would do root (1000 x 2) and get 44.7 volts. So you would adjust the gain on the amp at 44 volts with the 60 hz tone at 3/4 volume. This would mean if you don't go past that 3/4 volume it won't go past the amps limit of 1000 watts. You are saying that isn't the safest way?
  24. I am so getting this!!!! OMFOMOMFMOG COME ON XMAS MONEY AND B-DAY MONEY!
  25. I think line drivers are just for eliminating noise from the systems electrical system. I know that I have a line driver that outputs 8 volts and my deck is 4 volt pre outs (even though u don't get nearly that). I then used my line driver to get the 8 volts at 3/4 volume via a DMM and now my gain is almost not turned up at all. So this means that my amp is not working that hard. Producing less heat. Giving it a longer lasting life. It is not clipping at all. I used to do it by ear but I wanted to make sure that my amp was set exactly right.
