  1. Thanks John. I think i want to do it so i still have an H/U ( store away in glove box ) and the have my iPad in the center dash. Does anyone know how i would extend the wires to be able to run my head unit in my glove box?
  2. Test. Test. Test. Test. Test. Learn to get to know your ride from trying everything that comes to mind. Good Luck!
  3. Not to be too frank, but i don't give a fuck to surf the web or do anything else BUT play music off the iPad if i were to install it in my truck.. I want it as a Head Unit, not an iPad running my system. -- If that makes sense. I wouldn't want to show someone my website while giving them a demo, i would want to show them my equipment. It doesn't matter how much the iPad cost. I thought of a carputer, like a Mac Book Pro.. but i wouldn't know the first place to start when it comes to hooking everything up. Couldn't i have my current Kenwood deck in the glove box ( if i were able to extend the wires somehow ) then run the iPad to the center dash? As if there was no Deck at all.. but would it say accessory connected, like the iTouch does? BUT.. i would still have to turn the volume up by the Deck, anyway to alter that so the iPad controls it?

Try using your head and look.. theres threads on this forum with TONS of songs. SPL and SQ.
  5. Ahh ahh ahh (2) SMD 15" will smash on 3 12's when it comes to motor force. ok... well he seems to be set on fi btls, so yeah... Then so be it.
  6. "One 15 inch driver, ported enclosure, a lot of spl but to i want good sq to." Alpine Type R hands down. Kicker is not for SQ. No comment on the RE or SDC2.5. 15 inch HDC3 would be better then all your choices though.. Here my old set up, included..

  8. saz-3000d Reading pwned me.
  9. With what you are wanting to achieve I would recommend (4) fans. (2) with the airflow moving inward from the left and (2) from the right moving the airflow outward. Post 1,000 FTW! I'm blue now! :woot: :woot:
  10. I may be thinking too simplistic here but if you plan on using a SUB woofer for MID RANGE bass you might not get what you are looking for. There are other options you can look into.
  11. What amp will you be running at 1.34 ohm load?
  12. So i would need a regular Head Unit either way?
  13. The iPad as the regular USB port as the other iPods and iTouches. I'm liking the Alpine PXA-H701 but, i have no knowledge in installing an external EQ.
  14. I want a new Head Unit and i've seen this idea done before on SMD.. i didn't stick around to see it through though. I'm concerned about the fact my system might not be capable of being powered by an iPad. I'd have my dash fiberglassed for a nice fit. What would the PROS and CONS be? The system would consist of (2) Sub Amps ( around 8k ) and (1) Front Stage Amp. ( 4x100 ) Would it be possible to hook up? If so, HOW?! Also.. heres some other questions i have. How would I keep it charged? The EQ.. whats your guys thoughts about how i would set it up? -- Would it be the same as a regular Head Unit? Would it be possible for my equipment to fry the inside of the iPad? -- to much power from my amps perhaps, or something else of that matter? Anything i'm missing?
  15. Check into Alpine PDX series amps
  16. Try contacting DC Power and ask them if they will ship it to where ever the fuck you live lol
  17. x2. but it only takes me about a week to snap back into my peak. I've been a die hard Sony fan up until the 360 came out, oh.. and i'll smash on all yall in COD MWF2 :fing34:
  18. Check out my build log and look at my doors and how i went about installing sound deadener. I recommend you to do that! it was not expensive either.
  19. Where are you resting at? Change Fluids, OIL! They should do a 20 point inspection at the shop, wiper blades, check tire pressure, and make sure your spare tire as air. Cooler!
  20. Read slower?
  21. I would just send it in and let the pros do it.
