Welcome to the IHoP
Z3 box is going to be a bish but I will build it I'll have to resort to a cosmetic port to make things look well proportioned.

Sales figures Not worldwide... That is the direction I was kind of leaning. I still want a number of diesels. A 7.4L Ford truck (for my end of the world get the F out of town), a 1998 300D (uber miles per tank, cruising in a great car), Jetta Sportwagen (turbo, inter, electronics swap = fun and goofy sleeper), 1974 240D (in the boring stop and go with moderate highway speeds during commuting, might as well get 47mpg and stay classy). The trouble with old N/A Merc diesels is that they are slow Even so, a W201 200D is what I'm probably getting if I switch jobs and need a daily driver That's what BOOST is for. That I agree with. Would need some supporting mods ie small things like oil squirters from the turbo blocks.

Look like the GTi 15's are going in horns and the Z3 will get a ported GTi 12. What do you guys feel about a long and skinny port ? SOmething along the lines of 30" x 1"

Sales figures Not worldwide... Yeah, but I live and work in the US. Our industry in the States is completely different from the rest of the world. I don't mean just sales figures either. OBDII is unique to the US, and so are many other forced safety and emissions products. Our diagnosis and repair are worlds apart from anywhere else in the world. OBDII is on a ton of European cars and I believe a lot of US made / sold cars are not so tight on emissions as a lot of European cars. Just as an example, modern diesels in Europe now have urea injection to drop emissions.

First gens' with the folded surround? Basically a pro audio driver so shoehorning into a Z3 really isn't going to happen. Yeah, 1500gti. As far as I could tell and simulate, I can fit a 5 cube sealed box, which should yield a qtc of 0.65 with 2 1500 gti's It's a Z3 coupe They really like ported. And don't expect a fat bottom end, but output you will have. Almost ran mine in the boat...but just couldn't kill it that way. I sure hope I can fit two. Otherwise I will just convince the customer to go with 1.

Same high pressures and high risks in a diesel and even higher pressures in a commonrail diesel...

Call me ignorant, but as I was reading on SiN at one point and there was a good recommendation of going with 1/3 of Sd for daily and 2/3 of Sd for SPL setups. Almost all the boxes I've built had at least 1/3 of Sd and currently all my good SPL setups are over 2/3 of Sd. With mine having almost as much port area as cone area.

Sean, you had the original JBL GTI 15's, can you recommend an enclosure ? I need to shoehorn 2 of them in a Z3 coupe.

And I'm pissed if my Jeep drops under 28 out of town Out of town means an average of ~40mph, with occasional 70mph passes, hills, twisties

I try to shorten my workouts with compounds. I actually hit everything in each workout, even as short as they are. 45 degree bent over rows really hit almost every muscle group and it is totally exhausting. Bent over rows FTW Deadlifts FTW too. You actually recommended me bent over rows when I started lifting this winter.

What about post-workout carbs and fats from that point of view ?

Welcome to the IHoP
Addco's FTW Best investment so far. Going up twisties I can keep up with higher powered diesel cars now because in bends where they have to brake, I just power through

1000 *F peak EGT's on a stock tune, with a straight-through exhaust. Cummins lists 1250 *F as maximum continuous for their diesels so I will consider that my limit. Curious to see if better intercooler airflow and a bigger exhaust will drop the EGTs. And by how much

Happy Birthday Dylan!
Happy Birthday ! ! !

Welcome to the IHoP
EGT probe installed, EGR system went out in the process: I can't wait to go for a longer drive this weekend and give it a workout to see how much fuel I can add
- which box for SPL?

EBC Yellow. As far as my research goes, the Reds have poor cold braking performance, they are a track oriented pad. Yellows are better all around. Yellows will squeal for ~500 miles (that's what reports say) and they are dusty. Fucker. I just ordered the reds about an hour ago. For the weight / power of the car I don't think they will be a huge issue. Sorry I was late: ( I was going yellow but Ryan asked me a rather logical question. Why so aggressive. From EBC's website they claim the reds are just fine cold or hot and they shouldn't be used on the track. It's their dustless. I ran a dustless pad on the M5 and it was just as good as stock for braking. If I didn't bed the brakes every now and then they'd start to squeal, but at least bedding is fun Well it looks like I had my info wrong. One thing is for sure, Yellows are dusty.

Link no workie from my phone. That's why I listed part nubmers. 1) Is parts geek ok 2) Centric rotors ok I assume yes to both, but I don't buy brakes so often Centric rotors are okay for a Camry. Wouldn't put them on the Benz. Brembo should be OEM IIRC. Have you tried Rock Auto? Why are you wanting such an aggressive pad? I had the Greens on the Cobra and they worked wonders and that's their street pad. I had tried 2 months ago when I first searched and of course now Rock stock's those Centric Premium's and a Ferodo. I figured the Premium would be better. 350mm FR and 330mm RR so there aren't too many choices. As for the pads, the stock ones are super aggressive. I was hoping to get away with Red, never thought about softer. Have to last 12,000mi though so I can sell it otherwise I don't give a shit. Rock also has some cheapo's, but not sure I trust Centric pads, Juric, or Bendix. Have Raybestos for $30 though... I have Centrics on the Camry, but only because they were cheap. For my "normal" cars I like to use Satisfied products. For my performance vehicles, I like Brembo rotors if they fit, and Hawk or EBC pads depending on the need. One thing I didn't like about the Brembo rotors I have now on the Jeep is that they are thicker on the hub flange side than OEM rotors and thus the wheel doesn't sit on the hub center anymore
