I'm assuming it's 200w/ch @ 4ohm given the name......is the power supply too weak to support more power at lower impedances? Or another design constraint such as current capabilities on the output transistors? For some reason a lot of companies have been doing this practice lately with there 4 and 2 channel amps, giving a lot of power at 4 ohms and not double that at 2 ohms like they used too. IA, Audioque just to name a couple of others VERY hard to actually double the power as you half the impedance. Twice more current needed and the rail voltage drops, hindering the actual power output.

Flex-a-lite wants $30 for an electric fan control. $3 in parts and afternoon of tinkering and I'm close to the result I want. AND I can use the stock water temperature sender, not some sender that sticks to the radiator.

Time Alignment and Bandpass when going Active
You don't need to worry about the front stage amplifier's crossovers, just set them to full and start playing with the ones on the head unit. Rear channels are for mids since they have both low-pass and high-pass crossovers. For the subwoofer you will need a subsonic filter, the 9887 only has a low-pass on the sub channels.

SPL meter prototype versus Termlab
10 are in the oven. They will most likely be sold local along with beta versions of the software and once bugs are ironed out I'll look into options to get them to the US.

EVERYTHING including the cars is cheaper here. Market choice and price is not based on cost. Europe can lick my taint I'll keep doing business with shops in the US. I'd be curious to see food prices across the pond compared to here.

Hey Jake Couple small things I'd like to comment on, these are all in good spirit ! Test the pre-finals (sorry, can't find the english term for them) and if they heat up too much move them either on the heatsink with the rest of the transistors or add some small heatskins. 5 degrees difference between them and the amp will not work right, they are crucial. Test the thermal protection circuit. Move the NTC on a small aluminum board and warm it up gradually. Too many amps have problems with this, some come with badly calibrated sensors from the factory. It's a Class AB, it runs warm by default. Change the transistor insulators to mica instead of the silicone. The difference is huge and the more heat you can transfer to the heatsink, the better Again, this is all in good spirit, I'd love such a big power 4 channel

peerless 6.5" sls midbass
That's disappointing. What was the other set in the same install? What was it you didn't like about the L4? I am curious as I have never actually heard it before, but I have heard very good things about it. I have heard the L6/L1 pro in a nice install, but never the L4. With that said, though, like I posted in another thread I seem to hear greatly exaggerated things about the Legatia set. A few people were talking about off axis dispersion clean to 4.5kHz, but no way... Beaming still occurs at ~2.5K no matter what you do with a 6.5" driver. I've heard the Vifa TG9 and the Scan 15m. It was more than a year ago, one clear thing I remember I didn't like was some voices sounded raspy on the top Given it's price it wasn't much much more impressive than the TG9. One year is a lot to remember the exact sound so don't flame me

How can a german headlamp be cheaper in the US than in Germany ? One Hella headlamp for the Jeep is $50 in the US (euro-spec, everyone uses euro-spec) and 46 euros in Germany. With shipping, I bet it's still going to be cheaper than Germany, since those idiots don't take paypal... I'll never understand this whole deal but whatever is cheaper...

peerless 6.5" sls midbass
After hearing the L4 and a couple other mids in the same install, I can't rate it high in price/performance One option which seems hot now is to use a 3-4 inch fullrange and a midbass and simplify crossover needs, location and tuning.

Go for threaded inserts, much cooler than T-nuts

A little C230 coupe (used of course) is not out of the question, just was leaning towards a very simple, cheap to fix and fuel trusty. I'm thinking the same, buying a small econo car for the miles in town. Said bye-bye to the VW on Thursday evening So no more ??? No more vdub for a good while. Kind of sad to let a good car go but the money goes into paying the backhoe so no more monthly bank payments. Maybe an mk1 will return some time, tdi powered....

Welcome to the IHoP
I was very disappointed with the entire game. It felt slow and ho hum. Spain was diving a little too much, and the Netherlands were too packed in the middle of the field and did not take enough shots while turning the ball over too often. Iniesta dived twice, he didn't deserve the goal.

room to leave for air movement.
In a small hatch, moving closer to the hatch flattened the response. But it's going to depend a lot on the actual box size and the car. I'd build it with plenty of room between the tailgate and the box.
