help on MT10" db drag
Tuning is going to be car dependent. No point in tuning that high if the car peaks for instance at 40hz. I've worked on 2 cars that peaked at 42hz, both were tuned a tad over 42 and one of them was doing 150+ with a single 12.

Welcome to the IHoP
What happened ? In short I've basically spoon fed my supervisor for her job. I applied and was looked over even though I had more experience. In buisness I understand keeping your friends close, but it's really costing our department money with how much waste is going on. I onboarded here so I wouldn't have to take work home and could just come in, work, then go home. Now I feel I'm taking work stresss home, not getting compensated for the aditional stress, and watching some not so good people get credit for my ideas. I wouldn't mind one bit of any of those things if I felt that it was appreciated. My philosophy is always to work hard enough to get my boss promoted and then move myself up if I want. Here I feel as if I'm punished for being good at my job, and I don't really get thanks for the extra work put in. That's fucked up Matt2

Welcome to the IHoP
This weekend was fun Competed in SPL and lost by 0.2dB, at least I scored exactly as home. Time for a bigger box, resin and some roof stregthening once Don gets the stuff on the market. 2 other subwoofers built and tuned by me got good results. Even a 144.4 bassrace from 2 12's on 1800w. Biggest achievement was beating a Helix equipped car in sound quality. The top installer in the country liked the FF85k's so much he wanted to buy them to replace his tangbands.

help on MT10" db drag
Different cars so things change a lot. Especially since it's a trunk car vs a hatch. What is the peak frequency of both cars ? If the peak frequencies are way different than having both tuned at 45hz is not helping. Is the trunk sealed off ? Meter on the dash, car sealed up ? both cars are sedans. both cars only have trunk deadening.. peak frequency im not sure bro, trunk sealed off? = yes meter on dash= yes car sealed= no we are thinking that the AAMP 5kw we are using is over rated and according to some of my friends, the cleanest power it can produce is atleast 3200 w powering the MT10" its either that, or we just pushing the Fi a bit too hard than the MT. we used stinger spv70 on both setups.. i dont know man, maybe we have to break the MT 10" before we make it hit 150+ or spend more but whats funny is.. we changed the subwoofer.. and used an RE SX10" and it hit 150.4-150.7 i dunno man, maybe we need to use 20 batteries on the MT 10" lol.. hence the MT 10" challenge. Well, for some reason I thought the 323 is a hatch...moving on.. The bolded part confuses me. You should know that already since you are looking for a peak and measuring the peak. Or do you have an imposed peak frequency as part of the competition rules ? Build a bigger box, see how the score changes for the same tuning. Then decrease the volume and see how it does with less than 2 cubic feet. I'd also try the Sundown 4500 on the MT10. If it's the same coil config as the BL10 and the SX10 it's going to be clear if the amp is at fault.

Just another reason to buy from Don at SDS
I remember reading that it changed from foam backing to no foam not long ago and Brad complained that the description on the website didn't change...

They are cheep. I would have one if I could fit in one. Hmmm, last I checked, they were around 10k euros. I'm seriously thinking about one after getting a decent job..

What Are You?
1.6GHz Amd Sempron with an Nvidia GeForce FX5200. I will probably upgrade to Intel but I'm staying away from ATI.

Welcome to the IHoP
Box with big port holes done and tested It can do 146.3dB at 42hz with the engine off, seems ok for 2 12's on a 2000w amp, given that the main use is sealed

SPL meter prototype versus Termlab
Thanks for the thumbs up guys. Working on the software right now. If all goes as planned, expected introductory pricing is going to be about half of the russian version

IIRC there is a member from Australia here who bought a BTL 18 and had it shipped. I'd email FI

Ship? Fuck that. Drive it! x2. It's always fun to drive a newly bought car across the continent I had trouble finding the gear shifter when first driving the jeep- Welcome to the IHoP
how much are you asking for the M5? SO I went over and talked to my neighbor with the BM'er. Its a 2002 326i. So the first question I ask her (Rebecca, cute little 21 yr old) ) is how it handles in the snow? She tells me that its AWD. WTF, I didn't relize you could get an AWD BM'er. The next question is of course, how often does it need work or breakdown? how does she like it? Man if a 21 yr old girl can afford one, I should be driving one too.haha. Then it should be a 326ix. Not sure if they made such a version though...- Team Decent Geo Metro all out bassrace run
Congrats, that's a very solid score for bass race- SPL meter prototype versus Termlab
I've been working with a friend on this project for a bit of time. It's an option to the termlab. It's not the russian meter, it's our own design. So far we have managed : Lower noise floor than the termlab (and implicitly lower than the russian one), without tricks from the software. VERY close measurements to the termlab. When applying exactly the same pressure on both the TL and this meter differences are very small. Small package At this moment the meter is not comercial. So please don't ask for prices or dates when it will be available Clips versus termlab :- Word on the Street
