  3. What school ?
  4. I'd be hugry after 2 hours. That is one light breakfast.
  5. Please tell me what is the typical bandwith of a pro-audio subwoofer "system" ? From what I have played with pro-audio it is way higher than in a car. You are contradicting yourself here. First you say it's omnidirectional then you say it's not. So, which way is it ? Most of the front sub installs I have seen use the front subwoofer into the midbass region to eliminate the need for the midbass to drop very low, eliminating vibrations and rattles in the door. Phsychoacoustics is a very powerful tool, seeing the subwoofer in front will automatically fool almost everyone into thinking the bass is coming from the front.
  6. For Aaron, more RD funnies : RD d9 for $500 shipped obo!!!! - Car Audio Forum - CarAudio.com Steve sells untested amp from crashed car, kowboy receives blown amp.

  11. Happy Birthday Ryan ! ! ! !
  12. The only x-over's I've seen on stock sound systems are capacitors on the tweeter. The mid is playing full-range. Some of Fords' "premium" systems have EQ and Xover functions built into the amplifiers or outboard processors. All of their Mach systems are like this. Good to reference info

  14. Works if you can afford to loose all the data
  15. I need to wash the cars too but it's below freezing so I'm not going to do it.
  16. The one with the virus ? Correct. Transferring files to my computer at work so I can reinstall windows and be done with it. Delete all .dll, .exe, .bat files. Anything that is "runnable" or "executable". I got infected once with win32 Vitro, reinstalled windows (luckily I saved everything) and forgot to delete some .exe's. Installed a program for school over the old infected install and got infected again because of the executable. Which forced another reinstall.
  17. Happens a lot of times and absolutely nothing to worry since the important trace is on the bottom, the top eyelet is not part of the actual trace.
  18. The one with the virus ?
  19. They'll just laugh of such small matters. I never pooped on anyone's sale...except on this fool's sale.
  20. Funny how a kid over here posted some "proto 18's" for sale, only to see some pics of the new AA protos, obviously taken by the realowner of the subs
  21. Warm and soft...good thing they are not brown. Most of the differences are beucase of pshyco-acoustics. It's a very powerful thing. Damned, there is an amp in Europe woth considering along with the Sundowns. The Nakamichi PA series, PA4100 and PA2100. Nicely built amps. IMO, before you start changing gear, improve the install, like sealing and deadening the doors.
  22. I very much doubt you can get them custom made. Haven't seen somebody do that and still keep them relatively low-priced. Take a read here. I think it's the same difference when talking about 4 ohms vs 2 ohms. Either way, you are putting a lot less stress on the amplifier by running at 4 ohms instead of 2 ohms.
  23. Blanket statement coming from kids who think 35hz is low. If the q's are anything like the old xxx's, I can tell you that in 9cf one 18 on 750w was killer. Loud or not depends on what is loud for you. Poppycock. Two 18's can be excellent for sound quality. I would use 18's myself if I could fit them....in fact I had a pair I was planning to use but decided against it due to the amount of space they would consume. As to the original topic, I agree; Don't go ported with that amount of space. Thank for your very kind reply ! I just don't get it how two 18" ported would sound good at all freqs no matter if it is playing rap or metal. In the same way as 2 ported 12's will sound good in a well designed box. Tuned low enough you can avoid having a ridiculous peak in the frequency response. And you also have to have midbass that can keep up with the subwoofers.
  24. in 11cf you won't fit a good ported box for 2 18's. Stick with sealed, they will sound very good sealed and still have plenty of output.
