How about Spectrum over the clay or butyl ? That should stiffen a bit....

Ryan2, it's Fonoseal 100. Just talked to the guy who had some in his doors. EDIT : Apparently it's butyl ? Not completely sure though. Sean, what do you think of butyl as a replacement for modelling clay ?

Fuckers raised the limit to ~$200. Everything under pays 2.5%, Everything over pays 19% + 2-3%. And they are very harsh now Thank God the trick with value declaration still works. O_o I can smuggle some goods for you if you want. All I want in return is you to help me fiberglass... I have a lot more to learn untill I can teach

Audiocomp Fonogel, IIRC. I'm assuming I can't find it here in the states, I googled it and didn't see any pages in English. That's just why I said I'll send you some if you want. Couldn't find ANY info in english.

Welcome to the IHoP
As I can see they are using some sort of modelling clay on the basket. Is that what you were thinking of doing for treatment ? Probably yes, but wasn't sure how well modeling clay would hold up in the heat they are exposed to in the dash. Possibly sound damping material (most likely some second skin brand). But what Dave (planet10) uses is a hardening paste that he shapes if I remember correctly. I played in the weekend with some material almost like modelling clay, non-hardening and it is designed for in-car use. As soon as I'm done with school I'm buying a can to have when I re-work my doors. If you want, I can send some material your way

Horns in spl applications...
It depends on what style of horn you are trying to build. There are conical, hyperbolic, exponential, and tractrix (seems to be most popular in DIY community for horns), which are you looking for making? *edit* Then again I'm not sure how well that works with folding it etc, etc... That big horn will be exponential or tractrix. The flare question was not related to the horn question. http://www.subwoofer-builder.com/flares-25mm.htm That is what I want to build, only I'm going to do the flares on a mould, out of fiberglass. Haven't seen an aeroport live, so I don't know if the flare is just radius (like in the link), or a parabola. EDIT : re-read the link and it's just a simple radius. Time to start working on it.

Horns in spl applications...
Hornresp is what I used to simulate a small midrange horn but I haven't tested it yet. Fingers crossed I'll have the time to build such a huge horn and I'll definately try it with the rear ported and sealed. Now, to hijack my own topic... I want to build my own flared port ends, only problem is I don't know if the flare is a simple radius or some sort of parabola. 12 inch tube flared to 18~20 inches sounds right ?

Welcome to the IHoP
Thank God today is over. Phone was ringing all day, had to fix 2 computers and finish an amp cover. I hate fixing computers. Especially after I tell the people who use them how they should use them. In one ear, out the other. And when they break down, call Adrian to fix the computer. I will never understand how I could take care of my own pc and other people are absolutely worthless when it comes to operating one. Some people think that if I'm studying programming I need to know how to fix a pc. fvck this.

Mach 5 to carry Sound Digital
They are pretty cool amps imo. Simple and straight-forward. Aparently easy to service from the pics I can gather. Murilo never replied back to me, I wanted to import a pair of SD8000's

Surprise Pioneer Subs
Very nice score I'll have to meter the pair I installed for a customer. It is pretty impressive for the money.
