  1. I do know that Mississippi has 3 major USACI events every year ... Scrapin the Coast (biloxi), ShowFest (Tunica), and Chilaxin / Ridin the Park (Jackson / Pearl) ... There are plans to have atleat 3 MECA events this year ... 2 double point events and 1 tripple point event (state Finals) ... To my knowledge ... these will be SQ and SPL events ... I will be glad to post up these events as they get released to the public ... Know of any more events ??? Post them up guys !!! I've driven as far a 800 - 1000 miles to an event several times ... I've asked for a SSA / CA-F meet up several times on this forum ... I have a RTA meter and acess to a Term-Lab if we can get enough people to show up ...
  2. Is this the same as "just listen to it" ??I'm not sure what you're asking...Are you saying that letting a person physically sit in your vehicle and demo the drivers a great selling point ?? or determining wether or not it is a good dependable product ?? You know ... let them hear it, or listen to it ??? If so, then i agree with you ...
  3. Is this the same as "just listen to it" ??
  4. .x decibels ... Will be the deciding factor for winning a world championship or not ... seen it MANY times ... This is the same for SQ score cards too ... .xx means ALOT and most time a rejudge seen it THIS year at Finals ... I gained 1.25 points this year just by removing my wishield rear view mirror and retuning ... Something I learned THIS year at Finals ...
  5. Team Linear Power would like to thank each and every SSA member for coming by the Linear Power Manufacturer's booth and check out the Team Vehicles !!! My truck aquired a blowed head gasket a few days or so before the event ... Therefore we had to trailer it to Huntsville, Al ... Just not enough time to get it fixed ... My truck was almost destroyed being trailered to the Show when we had a blow out on the trailer during the Fog and Rain ... It swayed SOO bad that it almost turned over the tow truck. Not sure what the insurance will cover, but I plan to find out ... We will be installing my camper's sway controller hitch setup to the trailer before we make any more pulls with my White Lightning on it ... Destroyed my paint job and made unrepairable rattles for competition ... ... but scored suprisingly well for the accident and minimal tuning before the event ... White lightning held up for a few good demos too !!! I know, she's an old truck ... but she never fails to give a good demo !!! I love that old truck and will have it repaired (budget permitting) before SBN Daytona !!! See ya Soon SSA !!!
  6. Most competitiors are trial and error basis only ...Most competitiors do not give suggestions by sharing their practices and loose their edge in competition ... Most "Balls to the Wall" competitors do not take suggestions from people that do not compete ... Honnestly guys ... this is my observation at multiple shows and events ... I invite people to forums all of the time ... Most are very nice and just say "no thanks"
  7. Up to date ... MECA - Sound Quality Moddex (we have team members in multiple classes) USACI - Sound Quality Modified SQ / SQ+ ... Super Modified SQ / SQ+ USACI - SPL Street Beat 2 ... SPL Modified 0 - 1000 (test tones)
  8. All of the major orgs. IASCA, MECA, DB-Drag, and USACI all have their event schedules listed on their websites ... And no ... to keep everything as fair as possible, there is no fine print. They go strictly be the book. You just need to learn how to interpret those rules and regulations ...
  9. You are more than welcome when ever you get time Sir ... However ... We do take payment in Beer !!! LOL
  10. While talking to people at World Finals ... Alot of them told me that they do not care for forums in any way ... or simply do not have time to interact on the interwebs ...
  11. in fact ... one of the largest events in the South will take place not too far from you ... USACI's Scrapin the Coast in Biloxi, Missippi ... June I think I will be glad to start a thread as soon as I get info ...
  12. We try and post every event we go to here ... http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/forum/42-competitions-other-organized-splsq-events/ Most Orgs. have their own forums ...
  13. Up until this point ... The only SSA drivers I got to demo was either not playing or Wide open SPL ...So it was really nice to actually listen to the driver on good music ... Those horn drivers were actually fun to play with (brought back alot of old memories) ... Wish I had more time with the EQ. I was gonna brimg the RTA meter with me on Sunday ... They got me judged early that Sunday morning so I had planty of time on my hands once that was done ...
  14. Never met the man, So I personally have nothing to complain about there ... But I really wanted to ask him a few Questions about one of his amplifier brands ...Maybe I can Catch up with him at SBN Datyona ... I had a good bit of bad luck on the way to the show ...I'm thinking maybe i should have stayed home too ... Me and a few friends have plans to make Scrapin the Coast this year (No USACI competition) to cruize around in the Low riders ... If all goes good I will see you there Brother !!!
  15. Yah, if you hadn't guessed it. That was me that walked up to you guys. It was a crazy madhouse on day 1 with cars blocking the lanes everywhere. I felt like I was going to pass out and die from all of the fumes. Ahh ... Great to see you Brother !!! Hit me up next time so we can chat and grab up a few demos !!! As for now, my next big show plans will be SBN Datona ... We will post up dates as soon as they get posted !!!
  16. Met up with Sencheezy this past weekend for a chat and a few demos ... Guys, Sencheezy is a real "down to Earth" kind of guy !!! It was really cool to meet up with you Sir and get a demo of your ride !!! Sorry about missing your "ride the light" run, but I got called back to the LP demo booth. I will be sure to catch it on the next run ... hopefully we will be competing together at SBN Daytona !!! my under / hub glows got tore up during the accident on the way to finals (blew a trailer tire in the rain and almost flipped the vehicles) ... As for the SSA Evil driver ... Very impressive !!! Gets very loud and does supsrisingly good playing music too !!! Seemed really strong in the 45 - 70 htz range when cranked up ... and during music, fairly accurate in the 30 to 45 htz range too !!! not bad at all. Wish I had more time with the demo and tuning ... I can honnestly say that if I ever get the chance to build a system with a larger than a 10" driver application, I will definately go to Mark and Aaron for a SSA Evil Driver !!! maybe 2 or 4 ... who knows with my wild imagination !!! Thank you Sencheezy !!!
  17. Awesome Pics !!! I need to post mine up ...
  18. Where were you ?? I thought you Qualitfed for USACI World Finals ??? Yes Sir ... Saw plenty of smoke while making my rounds, and couldn't count the number of recones done in two days ... It seems like Tantric was one of the top dogs for Sub drivers this year ... put up some insane numbers 4 sure !!!
  19. Had nothing to do with my post Sir, I tried to find the owner to ask him some questions about one of his amplifier brands ... but no luck. I'm not sure if he was at World Finals or not ... There was no Manufacturer's booth for them ... Again ... Considering that the thread title reads ... My post was primarily on the performance of the amplifiers during World Finals ... Nothing more ...
  20. LP won "Manufacturer of the Year" for the second year in the row (maybe third, not sure) ... So If Skar "did as well as LP" like you posted here, They must be doing really good then !!! I'm impressed ... Thanks for the info Sean !!!
  21. watts are watts, its the owner that people have the beef with.Cool with me brother ... Like I said, it was just an observation.
  22. All of you guys that went to World Finals please clarify this for me ... I made my rounds through World Finals several times seeking out Skar Audio and from what I could tell about the product, they took massive punishment and done what needed to be done without ANY failures ... I'm not by any means a class D person ... But from my observation, those amps served their owners quite well this weekend ... In my years of car audio SQ and SPL competition, I would say those were positive results ... Then again, this was just my observation and nothing more ...
  23. Happy Birthday !!! I had something to give to you, but you left early ... Wish I had known, I would have give it to you saturday ... Anyways, it was a disc I made from my Chesky Records / Sheffield Labs collection ... How is the tune ??? Wish I had more time with it ...
  24. I agree with you here ... The X02 and the X04 works really well ... but the best one is the X03 This one, I do not ... Linear Power is the only brand that hold it's value longer than any other amplifier brand in the world ... We do not know of any other amplifier product on the car audio market that sells "used" for almost the same prices for when they were sold as new products ... They are VERY well built and work just as good 20+ years later as they do when they were new ... ... And almost all Linear Power products are capable of being repaired and modified with more "up to date" technology ... I do not know of ANY other product that does this ... Now please ... End this and help the op with what he needs to get his system set up instead of bashing products ... Thank you ...
