Or how about this: I tried selling selling my Ipod Touch on Ebay a year ago, and someone "bought it" by winning the auction, but they hadn't actually paid for it yet. I get an email that appears to be from Paypal telling me that I just received xxx amount of money for it, but the email was fucking bogus. The scammer didn't even copy the graphics from Paypal, it was just plain-text with different colors ROFL. Anyhow, Ebay took their cut for selling it from my paypal account. I contacted them to try and get a refund, but they just blew me off.

I've been in that position once before. That's what she said. ZIMZAM! Son of a bitch. God-dammit. Ya got me!
  5. Congrats on the score Mike.
  6. You speak on ill-informed knowledge and speculation.

  8. Definitely curious how it will compare to a solid hunk of similar metal.
  9. For a second I thought you melted a penny.
  10. Could you mount the tweeters on the a-pillars?
  11. OP you should note in what manner the sound was bouncing off the windshield. Was he talking about having the drivers mounted flat on the dash?
  12. Ultimately you don't want anything interfering with the frequency response--unless your capable of exploiting it for some goal. So if something was being used to alter the FR then it was most certainly designed that way. Believing that your windshield just happens to be perfect for improving any aspect is something I'd seriously question. Of course in a car everything is a compromise. Another consideration: every vehicle has a different dash and windshield (among just about everything else), so something that you believe works great in yours, may very well be the opposite in another.

Thank god it was past tense. I love the "it isn't for subs since it isn't sealed" comment. WTF? Pro audio gear is so bad ass it can run free air!

Sean didn't you have a Chevy?

  16. "My amp is rated for 1500watts, but I'm pretty sure it's putting out closer to 2000watts." "How do you know?" "Cuz it's loud man!" "The manufacturer underrates all their amps, so it's list for like 1500watts, but on good electrical it does like 2500watts." "Uh huh." "My amp makes blah blah power, and that's rms not max!" "What about impedance?" "What about what?" YouTube among other things is a cesspool for information.

I was waiting for the coffee reply--lol.
  18. ^This. 99% of those people randomly select a bunch of speakers and throw it all together in a custom fiberglass door, but have no logical reasoning for it other then flashiness or outright loudness, and even the latter is still a sad case. Are your current speakers in your doors, and if so, are your doors deadened properly?
  19. I will say it again: You do not need to match up driver RMS ratings to an amplifier's RMS rating. The reason I suggested a single 18" driver is it would essentially cost you half as much.
  20. Rockford Fosgate makes good amps, and remember you don't need the same amount of power as the driver's rms rating.
  21. Two more drivers you should consider: Sound Solutions Audio Icon and Gcon. The Gcon was just released so there isn't a TON of reviews on it, but I'm sure it's awesome, or SSA wouldn't make it. The Icon is the next model up, and in the similar price point as the ssd.
  22. I've never used any Panasonic headunits before so I don't have any input as to whether they are good or not, but that model does seem to have plenty of rca outputs for what you need. As far as speakers, that's pretty subjective, and installation will play a bigger role. I would try to use some speaker adapter made for your car, and fit a circular driver, 6", 6 1/4", 6.5". If you had planned on getting a bl, and running a lot of power then you likely would have needed batteries and or a high output alternator. The way I see it is you don't want to spend a billion a dollars, but you still want something better then your average car, and much louder. You can use a large enclosure for the subwoofer, you'll gain efficiency, use a smaller amp with no ill effects, and gain some more headroom for the power demands of another amp for the front speakers.
