Speaking of tb, they have a 3" neo midrange with bamboo cone that looks like a possibility. Ill find a link later.

Will do Sean. I also just saved myself from a ticket, that was slightly scary, won't go into details. Great way to start the day...

Yeah he told me that was a good starting point, but I used a single baffle for both drivers, so it ended up being on-axis actually. (with my leg somewhat in the way)

Sounds like travel bags are a niche market for absolutely raping people in terms of $$$. Maybe you could sell your steering wheel, use one from checkers/autozone, improve steering, and help offset the luggage cost? Unconditional lifetime warranty on the Briggs says something. I destroy Samsonite stuff in ~2 years and it ain't cheap. Target shit lasts less than a year. So it's cheaper in the long run, just seems an absurd price for what it is.

If you can't get them ON axis it is really NOT a good idea. I can, as long as the OD is under 3.5". Now if I decided to go with a bigger midrange (~4"), then see below. The stage height improved immensely when I placed the tweeters up on the dash, I'm curious if the tweets were aimed differently in the kicks if that could achieve similar results. Though I thought even if they were a bit off in the kicks, the stage height wouldn't have affected. Otherwise I could always put a midrange + tweeter in the kicks, that won't take up much room, and I could use the on-board amp on the ms8 for the tweets.

Although I'm for legalizing cannabis, I don't agree with how that's addressing the issue. Sure there are benefits, but to flat make it sound like some miracle drug is asinine. Smoking marijuana is terrible way to absorb THC.. there are many more efficient ways that are better for you too. Salad is good for you, and sports cars are fast. What's your point?

The entire door? I don't have the room, nor the $$$ to buy a pair of doors. LOL Plus I'd still have to cut my stock doors to do it, so it doesn't really aid my quest. Of course I could disconnect the og doors, and put the junker ones on before I sell it, and get them painted to match the rest of the car! All for a slightly larger speaker, I don't think so. oh sorry I meant door panels whoops, Not enough space to work off the door panels outward into the cabin (depth wise). Not to mention it's a door panel, not very secure, a flimsy baffle isn't going to sound good. I guess you can get away with it for smaller light drivers.

forget the exodus.. put a larger midbass Barely fits as is. Don't have the room to go any larger unless I did some serious cutting to the doors, and I'm not doing that.

I could literally take my fingernail and drag it and it would just come off. I had started to strip the paint then stopped Bummer, big time. Havnt seen that happen before. The new black baskets are all like this, I believe. Or at least the last batch, my icon included. It doesn't bother me unless I had the driver out and was showing it to someone interested in an ssa product, I could talk about how great the product is, and they could look and say "ha, the paints chipping."

I got my exodus' in the doors: Still need to make a trim piece to cover the hacked up part of the door and speaker, and order deadener for the doors. Then I'll be able to tell if they work out in the doors (IB) or not. I'm still going to try a midrange driver in lieu of the tweeter, mounted on the dash, and see if I like that more then the hds tweets.

Cool. Next time spend more time using larger pieces of mat, rolling out any bubbles, and you won't have to cover the entire panel in body filler, but instead, just for filling small voids and blemishes.

Basket looks like it's been to hell and back. I'm sure mine looks similar.
  17. Without the port area you can't find the tuning. If I was to guess, I'd assume it's around 40hz.
  18. One Dual 2ohm driver wiring configurations: One Dual 4ohm driver wiring configurations: Depending on your amplifier's power rating, and stability at 1ohm, 2ohm, you'll want to pick the coil config accordingly.

I don't know if it's broken, but: I once visited family in LA, was kicking a soccer ball in the hallway, kicked right at the entrance to a room, foot went to one side, big toe went to the other. Sort of put a damper on the vacation for me.
  20. Of course other factors come into play.
  21. If your considering using 16cubes for an enclosure, it's not SQ based. Ported, fit as much cone area as you can with the adequate amount of volume per driver. You can use winisd to get an idea of which drivers and their quantity will perform in the enclosure verse another set of drivers and that quantity.

It's a great little device. I do have to admit, I did get one that came with some problems from the factory. I am able to remedy a few of those problems but will end up having ot send it back for a replacement. That being said, it is lightning fast. It's pretty nice to run/install something intensive on my laptop and be able to view it from my tablet. While I'm waiting for stuff on my laptop to load I close out the program and do other work on the tablet. I'm ready to get the dock that turns it into a mini laptop. After that I'll see what kind of productivity I can get out of it. If anything, it will be fun for surfing, games, mild productivity (Calender, people app, gmail, email, etc...) What didja get? I think: http://eee.asus.com/eeepad/transformer-prime/features/

Above my post 95Honda explains it simply. You can also think of it like this: Driver XXX rated for 100watts. clean signal: 50watts. clipped signal of the above (I don't remember if clipped signal is 30% more power?), so lets say now your clipped signal is 50 + 50*0.30 = 65watts 65watts is still well under the thermal rating of 100watts. So yes the signal is clipped, but it's not destroying the driver. Of course this is broad, and 95Honada's response covers everything, but I believe this example answers your thought.
