Awesome News. Yes it is, but my pockets are lighter now. Now you can run faster when you rob a bank.

Enclosure For Stefan Hinote, One 18" SSA Icon
25" depth, 25" width, 15" height. double baffle. SSA doesn't have the cutout dimension listed for the new icon, but I'm pretty sure it'll be the same as the 18" xcon which is: 16.750" Think we should do carpet, or try and paint it to match interior? Either way works. No rush.

5 hr build, budget blowthru
That looks sick, but no double baffle worries me a little.

I was so fed up in math today, straight up lost with what we were doing, behind an entire section, teacher is completely useless. Got home, ran through some of the hw problems until it kicked back the solution then figured out the steps, it was so fucking simple.

Got my Icon in the mail today.
Before you install and apply power, gently push down on the center of the cone listen for any scratching / rubbing sounds (just to make sure nothing shifted in alignment.)

This Ship Has Sailed!
I think you need to talk Mark & Aaron into starting a beer forum and setting you up as the first vendor on the new site Mike runs http://www.shroomery.org/, it is a massive site with much more traffic then we have. So I am sure if that site would be better then what Mark and I could do from scratch. I've been there here and there, never would have guessed...

Box for an Xcon...
I've never used the Torre's calculator so no comment there, but is that an amplifier I see mounted upside down?

2 ported 10" DCONs to replace 4 8" RE subs?
Dcons are always overlooked because of their price, but they are some awesome drivers. 4 8"s have more cone area then 2 10", but since you would be switching to a ported enclosure, the pair of tens would have the advantage for more output. I've never heard the REs so I can't compare sound quality between the two drivers, but normally switching to a ported enclosure tends to make the frequency response peaky (how peaky, depends on tuning and enclosure volume) verse a sealed enclosure and flatter response. You can download WinISD for free and plug in all the T/S specs for each driver and compare the frequency response graphs and potential outputs. (Modeling is never perfect though, many variables will effect final outcome, cabin gain, cabin shape, panels, enclosure placement, etc.) As a matter of fact, I'm about to order some dcons.

Doing it as soon as I get home. Malware makers should be hanged ! I ended up doing a system restore to get rid of the crap. What sings of the malware did you find ? Links to sites in browsers would be redirect to a striker search engine. I would also get popups for Adobe Flash updates and other random website redirects every five minutes or so. I tried spy bot search and destroy and malware bytes, but neither seemed to solve it. Did a system restore from a few days back and that seemed to work.

2 SA12" V.2 3.0 cf box ported NEED BOX HELP!!
The higher tuning gives you more output on the top end but also makes the frequency response "peaky", that's why the lower tuning enclosure sounds better to you but doesn't have as much output on the top end. You could try building a larger enclosure for increased efficiency, or use more drivers.

Welcome to the IHoP
I just noticed on the Obsidian car audio site, they have a comparison graph of their driver vs another driver in a "thermal test". X-Axis is time and Y-Axis is power, shouldn't there be temps? Or does it mean the longer it plays then it handles more power?

Enough ventilation?
Thanks everyone. Yeah, put the box on some feet! That's what I was thinkin! We can make it pretty for you. Let me know what you decide on Stefan and we will make it work. If we could figure something out that would be cool. Leaning towards the dcons again, you never see them around, and the cone area will be nice.

Enough ventilation?
I'd rather not add fans, just more shit to deal with. As stupid as it sounds if that's the case then I'll go with a smaller enclosure and have it not cover up the heat sinks. Let's say I did add fans, do you use a relay from the remote turn on and connect that to the fans?
-
Enough ventilation?
Inside: Outside: As you can see from the inside picture, the sides have openings, and there is about a half inch gap between the heatsinks and the top panel. I'm considering a new enclosure that would sit over the top panel, it would likely cover up all the heatsinks. I know the sides being open will help, but since heat rises, and the enclosure would be directly above the heatsinks, think I'll run into any issues?

Reminds me of the photos they find of people on those Dateline stories. They don't have enough resources.

Everyone, Go to Adobe website and update your Flash. There is a vulnerability with the current flash player and it allows executables to be ran by just visiting a site with malicious code. I just got owned by it...
